Cyber-physical systems (CPS) are complex distributed heterogeneous systems which integrating cyber and physical processes by computation, communication and control. During interaction between cyber and physical world, the traditional theories and applications has been difficult to satisfy real-time performance and efficient. Cyber-physical systems clearly have a role to play in developing a new theory of computer-mediated physical systems. The aim of this work is to analysis the features and relation technology of CPS that get better understanding for this new field. We summarized the research progresses from different perspectives such as modeling, classical tools and applications. Finally, the research challenges for CPS are in brief outlined.

Recent advances in wireless networking, sensing, computing, and control are revolutionizing how physical systems interact with information and physical processes such as Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), Internet of Things (IoT), and Tactile Internet. [...]

One of the latest emerging class of systems which implants cyber features into the physical world is the Cyber Physical System (CPS), which provides a platform for interaction between physical world and virtual world. CPS promises to transform the physical world to virtual world through interaction similar to human interaction with each other. With the increasing demand of cyber physical systems in various applications, it requires wide variety of communication protocols for reliable and real time data transmission. The low- power and low – cost features of some canonical protocols lead to some short falls, reliability and timeliness. In this paper, we discuss an extensive survey on MAC protocols and Research challenges for enhancing the QoS in CPS.

AbstractMachine learning components such as deep neural networks are used extensively in cyber-physical systems (CPS). However, such components may introduce new types of hazards that can have disastrous consequences and need to be addressed for engineering trustworthy systems. Although deep neural networks offer advanced capabilities, they must be complemented by engineering methods and practices that allow effective integration in CPS. In this paper, we proposed an approach for assurance monitoring of learning-enabled CPS based on the conformal prediction framework. In order to allow real-time assurance monitoring, the approach employs distance learning to transform high-dimensional inputs into lower size embedding representations. By leveraging conformal prediction, the approach provides well-calibrated confidence and ensures a bounded small error rate while limiting the number of inputs for which an accurate prediction cannot be made. We demonstrate the approach using three datasets of mobile robot following a wall, speaker recognition, and traffic sign recognition. The experimental results demonstrate that the error rates are well-calibrated while the number of alarms is very small. Furthermore, the method is computationally efficient and allows real-time assurance monitoring of CPS.

Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), as a multi-dimensional complex system that connects the physical world and the cyber world, has a strong demand for processing large amounts of heterogeneous data. These tasks also include Natural Language Inference (NLI) tasks based on text from different sources. However, the current research on natural language processing in CPS does not involve exploration in this field. Therefore, this study proposes a Siamese Network structure that combines Stacked Residual Long Short-Term Memory (bidirectional) with the Attention mechanism and Capsule Network for the NLI module in CPS, which is used to infer the relationship between text/language data from different sources. This model is mainly used to implement NLI tasks and conduct a detailed evaluation in three main NLI benchmarks as the basic semantic understanding module in CPS. Comparative experiments prove that the proposed method achieves competitive performance, has a certain generalization ability, and can balance the performance and the number of trained parameters.
