In order to exert the force performance of steel tubular columns filled with steel-reinforced concrete, the focus of the paper is about the influence of load condition on flexural mechanical properties and the shear mechanical properties of the composite columns. The two types of loading conditions are: 1.Steel pipe, steel placed in the steel tube and concrete subject to compressive load simultaneously; 2.Compressive load acts on steel and concrete. The results show that the calculated results based on ADINA and the experimental ones are in agreement well. The calculated results also show that the load condition has no influence on flexural mechanical properties, but has a great influence on shear mechanical properties of the composite columns.

By using the finite element software ADINA, the focus of the paper is about the influence of load conditions on the axial compression performance of steel tubular columns filled with steel-reinforced concrete (STSRC) with the base that the calculated results are confirmed by the experimental data. Three types of loading conditions are these that: 1. Steel pipe, steel placed in the steel tube and concrete bear the compressive load; 2. Compressive load acts on the steel and concrete and there is a good bonding between the steel and concrete; 3.The steel and concrete bear the axial load, but the bond-slip between the steel tube and concrete are considered. The results show that the calculated results based on ADINA and the experimental ones are in agreement well, the bearing capacity and the ductility of the short composite columns are not almost influenced by the load condition-one and load condition-two, while the load condition-three has a influence on the axial compression performance of STSRC.

To study the mechanical properties of CFPR steel tube composite columns filled with steel reinforced concrete under different axis compression ratio by adopting 3 specimens of theirs quasistatic tests are carried out. The failure mechanism and test results are analyzed with member of the load-displacement hysteretic curves, skeleton curves. The results show that the axial compression ratio decreases conducive to the improvement of the bearing capacity of specimens. Axial compression ratio has a great influence on the skeleton curve and ductility. Axial compression ratio is higher, the descent stage of the skeleton curve is steeper, the ductility is better. With the increase of the axial compression ratio, the ductility coefficient and energy dissipation capacity is lower.

A new column of FRP composite tube confined steel-reinforced concrete (FTCSRC) column was proposed. This paper elaborates on laboratorial and analytical studies on the behavior of FCTSRC columns subjected to axial compressive load. Eight circular FTCSRC stub columns and one circular steel tube confined concrete (STCC) stub column were tested to investigate the failure mode and axial compression performance of circular FTCRSC columns. Parametric analysis was implemented to inquire the influence of confinement material (CFRP-steel tube or CFRP-GFRP tube), internal steel and CFRP layers on the ultimate load capacity. CFRP-steel composite tube was composed of steel tube and CFRP layer which was wrapped outside the steel tube, while CFRP-GFRP composite tube was composite of GFRP tube and CFRP layer. The test results indicate that the confinement effect of CFRP-steel tube is greatly superior to CFRP-GFRP tube. The ductility performance of steel tube confined high-strength concrete column can be improved obviously by encasing steel in the core concrete. Furthermore, with the increase in the layers of FRP wraps, the axial load capacity increases greatly.

Moment-deformation curves of square steel tube filled with steel reinforced concrete subjected to bending load were simulated by the ABAQUS software. Calculated and experimental curves agreed well with each other. Through studying further the calculated member, the behavior of materials subjected to moment is given. Finally, flexural capacity formula of square steel tube filled with cross steel reinforced concrete is proposed.

The composite structural element under study is a carbon fiber wrapped, steel I section reinforced concrete column. The wrapped CFRP is under tension and reinforced concrete under radial compression. The aim of the research is to determine the behavior of the composite structural element under axial loads. The Stress-strain characteristics and load bearing capacity of control and CFRP wrapped tubular columns were determined experimentally. Further, Finite element analysis of steel, reinforced concrete and CFRP wrapped concrete columns sections, was conducted using ANSYS Workbench 15.0 software. The experimental and analytical results were compared.

To investigate the applicability of the methods for calculating the bearing capacity of high-strength steel-reinforced concrete (SRC) composite columns according to specifications and the effect of confinement of stirrups and steel on the bearing capacity of SRC columns. The axial compression tests were conducted on 10 high-strength SRC columns and 4 ordinary SRC columns. The influences of the steel strength grade, the steel ratio, the types of stirrups and slenderness ratio on the bearing capacity of such members were examined. The analysis results indicate that using high-strength steel and improving the steel ratio can significantly enhance the bearing capacity of the SRC columns. When the slenderness ratio increases dramatically, the bearing capacity of the SRC columns plummets. As the confinement effect of the stirrups on the concrete improves, the utilization ratio of the high-strength steel in the SRC columns increases. Furthermore, the results calculated by AISC360-19(U.S.), EN1994-1-1-2004 (Europe), and JGJ138-2016(China) are too conservative compared with test results. Finally, a modified formula for calculating the bearing capacity of the SRC columns is proposed based on the confinement effect of the stirrups and steel on concrete. The results calculated by the modified formula and the finite element modeling results based on the confinement effect agree well with the test results.
