A city high-rise building of the environmental balance, and its prominent position in the image and the place has a special symbol. However, high-rise buildings developed to reduce the symbolic value that it has attributed to the relevant system of architectural forms. As more and more dense urban high-rise buildings stand, we should be carefully evaluated: its ecological evvironment, will be the effect? Because of its height and volume, a high-rise building than in the top or bottom is likely in terms of physical environment on the social environment and the impact is much greater. Disturb the existing high-rise buildings in varying degrees between the various functions of the city, increasing the city high-rise buildings in the moment, how to properly control the rapid of high-rise buildings in order to maintain a sustainable ecosystem, is a question worth considering.

With the accelerating pace of city construction, high-rise buildings are gradually in the process of city development plays a more and more important role. In this paper, design of a high-rise building are analyzed, and puts forward the high-rise building design should be based on city space planning, as far as possible to reduce the interference to the city space environment. The design ideas of coordination, integration, humanity are also proposed, so as to enhance the image of high-rise buildings and the city's environmental quality.

High-rise building this type of construction has greatly changed the city's construction and the natural environment. At present, many high-rise building design and urban space does not conform with that gave rise to a sense of indifference to it, sense of distance. This paper attempts by high-rise buildings and urban design analysis to advocate for high-rise buildings to the city and public open space development, and bring it into line with the City of integration with the environment to shape the city's image.

AbstractThis analysis examines the ways in which a single speaker, Ana, born in mid-century East Los Angeles, organizes and reflects upon her experiences of the city through language. Ana’s story is one that sheds light on the experiences of many Mexican Americans who came of age at a critical time in a transitioning L.A., and the slow move of people who had been up until mid-century relegated largely in and around racially and socioeconomically segregated parts of L.A. These formative experiences are demonstrated to have informed the ways that speakers parse the social and geographical landscape along several dimensions, and this analysis interrogates the symbolic value of a special category of everyday language, deixis, to reveal the intersection between language and social experience in the cityscape of L.A. In this way, it is analytically possible to not only approach the habituation and reproduction of specific deictic fields as indexical of the ways that speakers parse the city, but also to demonstrate the ways in which key moments in the history of the city have shaped the emergence and meaning of those fields.

The sustainable development of the tourism phenomenon and the impact that it produces it is important not only for the enterprises receiving tourism but also for the economic sectors correlated with the structures above as handicrafts, trade and services, turning tourism in a primary factor for the economic development of a region or a country. To talk about tourism in a city very rich in "contrasts" such as Gjirokastra, is an issue that goes beyond simple economic aspect, generating significant consequences in terms of geography and especially in social level. This is because Gjirokastra is a city with a glorious history since the fifteenth century, rich in culture, archaeology, enogastronomia (Food and wine) and several endless natural beauties. Although is the capital of the most important cultural event, the national folk festival which perform the tradition through the art. Shortly, Gjirokastra is a genuine multidimensional brand; the promotion of it would increase the income, the employment, the consumption and most of all it would transform into in an international city. Certainly to promote this brand it is needed a coordination between decision-maker institutions and local businesses but above all is necessary an efficient and comprehensive marketing plan that promote "brand " pointing at the same time in the centre of the universe "tourist".Based on this affirmation, this paper requires just to give some modest idea on the development of the city image through qualitative and quantitative analysis of data obtained from a sample of tourists visiting various cities in the world and recently have visited the Gjirokastra.

The purpose of this study is to identify the facilities of green infrastructure that are able to improve living conditions in an urban environment in high-rise residential apartments buildings on steep slopes in the city of Vladivostok. Based on the analysis of theoretical sources and practices that can be observed in the world, green infrastructure facilities have been identified. These facilities meet the criteria of the sustainable development concept, and can be used in the city of Vladivostok. They include green roofs, green walls, and greening of disturbed slopes. All the existing high-rise apartments buildings situated on steep slopes in the city of Vladivostok, have been studied. It is concluded that green infrastructure is necessary to be used in new projects connected with designing and constructing of residential apartments buildings on steep slopes, as well as when upgrading the projects that have already been implemented. That will help to regulate the ecological characteristics of the sites. The results of the research can become a basis for increasing the sustainability of the habitat, and will facilitate the adoption of decisions in the field of urban design and planning.

The paper summarizes the results of wind tunnel tests of the influence of aerodynamic interference on wind action of a high-rise building design in Warsaw. Measurements were accomplished in Wind Engineering Laboratory of Cracow University of Technology. Wind pressures on external surfaces of the building model were acquired in two different situations. Firstly, only the building model was placed in the tunnel working section, secondly, the building model with the nearest surroundings was taken under consideration. A study of the character of wind action differences caused by the nearest surroundings of the building was the main aim of the paper. Wind pressure coefficients on the external building surfaces and the difference of horizontal wind action on full scale were compared.

<p class="Abstract"><em>The surface temperature of the building material may release a heat load in the micro-environment. The largest building envelope receives the heat load of solar radiation is the roof. The strategic roof position at the top of the building has the opportunity to radiate heat received into the environment. Heat emissions lead to rising temperatures, so it is necessary to lower the temperature in micro-environment. When the heat of the building is not lowered will lead to an increase in the urban heat island (UHI). The objective of the study was to find the relationship between the thermal performance of the roof of the building and the energy efficiency in the high-rise building, in order to establish efficient thermal comfort. The research method uses experimental way in real model which is in Surakarta City, as humid tropical climate area. The result of the study is a comparison of the heat performance of three roofing materials which would later recommend the criteria of energy efficient roof for high buildings.</em><em></em></p>

Abstract High-rise buildings in big cities are crucial for business, economic, educational, residential, and entertainment activities in recent times. The technology discoveries in various fields that support high-rise building construction such as structure, mechanical, electrical, and materials have opened up opportunities for comfortable and environmentally safe architectural work. The first milestone of high-rise building construction knowledge in Indonesia was the completion of the thirteen-floors Sarinah retail building in 1967. Indonesia, especially in Jakarta, then experienced rapid growth of high-rise buildings construction. However, there is limited research on the development of high-rise building designs in Indonesia, especially from an architectural design perspective. It leads to the lack of literature on high-rise building design in Indonesia. By utilizing a publicly accessible database from the Council of Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat and recent literature called Designing Tall Building by Mark Sarkisian, this paper explores the design development of high-rise buildings in Jakarta from time to time in the aspects of architecture, structure and sustainability.
