Hinterland of a port is an economic support area of a port. Basically the economy of a hinterland comes from industries in it. The need of goods creates the distribution of goods. Port users in East Java consider using nearest port from his company. This paper is intended to know hinterland area every port in East Java. This paper used set covering model to know hinterland area of each port. The objective function of this model is Minimize total inland transportation cost. The factors that are considered are the service of the ports, distance, mode of transport, and transportation time. The result of this paper shows the Hinterland area of Tanjung Perak port which used General cargo packaging is Surabaya, Container commodities are Bojonegoro, Gresik, Kediri, Lumajang, Mojokerto, Pasuruan, Probolinggo, Sidoarjo and Malanng, Dry Bulk commodities are Gresik, Kediri, Mojokerto, Sidoarjo, Tuban. Probolinggo port has hinterland are General cargo commodities are Madiun and Probolinggo. And Hinterland of Tanjung Wangi port which used container packaging areBondowoso and Banyuwangi.

This paper presents an extension of the covering location problem as a hybrid covering model that utilizes the set covering and maximal covering location problems. The developed model is a multi-period model that considers strategic and tactical planning decisions. Hybrid covering location problem (HCLP) determines the location of the capacitated facilities by using dynamic set covering location problem as strategic decisions and assigns the constructive units of facilities and allocates the demand points by using dynamic modular capacitated maximal covering location problem as tactical decisions. One of the applications of the proposed model is locating first aid centers in humanitarian logistic services that have been addressed by studying a threat case study in Japan. In addition to validating the developed model, it has been compared to other possible combined problems, and several randomly generated examples have been solved. The results of the case study and model validation tests approve that the main hybrid developed model (HCLP) is capable of providing better coverage percentage compared to conventional covering models and other hybrid variants.

Shift to The Front II Komplek Sukamukti Banjaran Project is one of the projects implemented by one of the companies engaged in telecommunications. In its implementation, each project including Shift to The Front II Komplek Sukamukti Banjaran has a time limit specified in the contract. Project scheduling is an important role in predicting both the cost and time in a project. Every project should be able to complete the project before or just in the time specified in the contract. Delay in a project can be anticipated by accelerating the duration of completion by using the crashing method with the application of linear programming. Linear programming will help iteration in the calculation of crashing because if linear programming not used, iteration will be repeated. The objective function in this scheduling is to minimize the cost. This study aims to find a trade-off between the costs and the minimum time expected to complete this project. The acceleration of the duration of this study was carried out using the addition of 4 hours of overtime work, 3 hours of overtime work, 2 hours of overtime work, and 1 hour of overtime work. The normal time for this project is 35 days with a service fee of Rp. 52,335,690. From the results of the crashing analysis, the alternative chosen is to add 1 hour of overtime to 34 days with a total service cost of Rp. 52,375,492. This acceleration will affect the entire project because there are 33 different locations worked on Shift to The Front II and if all these locations can be accelerated then the duration of completion of the entire project will be effective

An optimization study with kinetostatic analysis is performed on hybrid seven-bar press mechanism. This study is based on previous studies performed on planar hybrid seven-bar linkage. Dimensional synthesis is performed, and optimum link lengths for the mechanism are found. Optimization study is performed by using genetic algorithm (GA). Genetic Algorithm Toolbox is used with Optimization Toolbox in MATLAB®. The design variables and the constraints are used during design optimization. The objective function is determined and eight precision points are used. A seven-bar linkage system with two degrees of freedom is chosen as an example. Metal stamping operation with a dwell is taken as the case study. Having completed optimization, the kinetostatic analysis is performed. All forces on the links and the crank torques are calculated on the hybrid system with the optimized link lengths

The purpose of the article is to provide insight into care farming and the role that it may play in agriltural multifunctionality. The paper outlines three case studies of care farming in the UK to compare and contrast the roles that such organizations may play in multifunctional agriculture. Although the work has the obvious limitation of being based on case-study care farms that are based in the UK, the findings are sufficiently generic to serve as valuable learning material for those interested in the subject and located anywhere in the world. The main finding from this study is that care farming can take many different forms but still contribute to agricultural multifunctionality. The study also confirms the important roles that economic support and favourable legislation play in successful care farming. The paper concludes that care farming is a legitimate form of agricultural multifunctionality but reminds those interested in setting up or promoting care farms of the need for a supportive economic and legislative environment. The paper provides contemporary insight into the concept of care farming as a form of agricultural multifunctionality. A number of generic points are made that should be of value to an international audience of academics researching in this area as well as students studying care farming and agricultural multifunctionality, farmers considering diversifying into care farming and politicians working to create a political and economic environment that may support care farms.

<p>Cycling is a memory of the past for most of us, the lack of support from the authorities on the cycling infrastructure made it difficult to attract people to cycle in the city. Urban sprawl, traffic congestion, car dependency, environmental pollution and public health concerns have pressured cities around the world to consider reintegrating cycling into the urban environment.  Design as a research method was utilised to investigate the effectiveness of design methodology and workflow for cycling infrastructure from an architecture and design perspective. Using Wellington City as a design case study, this research aimed to improve the legibility, usability and the image of cycling as a mode of transport in the city. To achieve this, a customisable graphical design framework and branding strategies were developed to structure and organise the design components within cycling infrastructure. The findings from the iterative design processes were visualised through the appropriate architectural and presentation conventions.  This research provided an unique architectural perspectives on the issues of cycling infrastructure; the results would support the transportation advisers and urban planners to further the development and integration of cycling, as a viable mode of transport, within the city.</p>

4G LTE networks in big cities are already well available. Meanwhile, on small to medium-sized cities, the 4G LTE network is not evenly distributed and maximized. This study chooses the variable tilting antenna to the coverage area, because in sending information from a base station using an antenna. The average RSRP value (dBm) of the existing base station in the calculation with a distance of 200 m is -122.90 dBm, a distance of 500 m is -136.79 dBm, and a distance of 1000 m -147.30 dBm. Meanwhile, in the simulation with a distance of 200 m of -108.22 dBm, a distance of 500 m of -121.81 dBm, and a distance of 1000 m of -132.69 dBm. The coverage area value of the existing base station in the calculation is 5.29%, while in the simulation it is 11.18%. The average RSRP value (dBm) at optimal conditions for calculations at a distance of 200 m is -80.13 dBm, at a distance of 500 m is -94.03 dBm and at a distance of 1000 m is -104.56 dBm. Meanwhile, the simulation at a distance of 200 m is -98.09 dBm, at a distance of 500 m is -112.79 dBm and at a distance of 1000 m is -123.31 dBm. The value of the coverage area for the calculation is 20.32%, while for the simulation it is 15.01%. The current need for base stations in Trenggalek District that has been met is 68%.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to understand the functional power of frequency from-to chart (FFTC) as an independent solution-key for generation optimal (exact) facilities sequences with an equal distance of straight-line flow patterns. The paper will propose a bi-objective function model based on the Torque Method then will turn it into a computer-based technique with a permutative manner using the full enumeration method. This model aims to figure out if there is a difference between the moment minimization and backtracking treatment. Furthermore, the proposed technique will measure the performance of related works from literature to numerically highlight their limitations. Design/methodology/approach The literature of related works provided two-principles assumed mastering material flow sequences. The researchers gathered and analyzed the three methods – used FFTC as an independent technique – mentioned in the literature then measured their performance with the proposed technique. The proposed technique is based on the computation of torque value using an enhancement of bi-objective function model then application a permutative approach with full enumeration methodology. The bi-objective function model used once to mimic the grand moment value of FFTC and again to study the reflection of minimizing the congestion of backtracking movements on the minimization of total transportation cost. Findings Based on the analysis of literature and comparative results of its three case studies using the proposed technique, it is found that: there are optimum facilities sequences with rich opportunities of exact pathway selection. Reduction methodology is an inefficient way to generate exact results. There is a gap between combining the minimization of the grand moment and the treatment of the backtracking problem. Research limitations/implications This study is one of the first contributions that discusses the assumption of integration between optimization moment value and its relation to treatment backtracking problem. Also, the illness of reduction methodology to reach optimal solutions. The further direction of this research will highlight the conjecture of searching the exact results for small size problems, analyzing the given data and its logical dimensions, developing logical rules for solving and verifying large size problems based on the exact results (The conjecture of P = NP). Originality/value This paper provides a detailed numerical analysis of the most common problems generally faced facility layout problems through understanding the lack of integration between moment minimization and backtracking minimization. Also, the inefficiency of reliance on reduction methodology either in scores of frequencies between facilities with weak relation or the number of permutations. Based on those findings, further study will search the logical philosophy exactly optimizing FFTC manually or without having to deal with a permutative approach for large size problems – which considered non-deterministic polynomial-time problem.

Cutting Stock Problem (CSP) is the determination of how to cut stocks into items with certain cutting rules. A diverse set of stocks is called multiple stock CSP. This study used Pattern Generation (PG) algorithm to determine cutting pattern, then formulated it into a Gilmore and Gomory model and solved by using Column Generation Technique (CGT). Set Covering model was generated from Gilmore and Gomory model. Based on the results, selected cutting patterns in the first stage can be used in the second stage. The combination of patterns generated from Gilmore and Gomory model showed that the use of stocks was more effective than Set Covering model.

This research was conducted at UKM Jovelyn in Batam city. Jovelyn's UKM produces various kinds of cakes and is marketed in markets in Batam City. The UKM opened 4 branches and marketed its products to 7 markets in the city of Batam. Product distribution is still random and not properly regulated. This resulted in a very large transportation cost, up to 1/3 of the total production cost. This shows that product transportation is still not carried out effectively and efficiently. The transportation problem is converted into a mathematical form so that the problem can be solved by the transportation method. The transportation method aims to minimize the objective function which is a function of transportation costs. The transportation method is basically the same as the linear program where at each iteration a selection is made to enter the basic variabel and leave the basic variabel. There are several iteration methods, namely the northwest corner method, minimum cost method, genetic algorithm, Vogel's approximation method, minimum row method, Russell's approximation method and column minimum method. Previous research has shown that the Vogel's approximation method, and Russell's approximation method are more efficient and accurate. This study uses both methods and a sensitivity analysis is performed to optimize the calculation results.
