Material cutting properties can be judged by turning temperature and chip shape. A new method that can measure turning temperature more accurately was discussed in this paper. Compared with the traditional method, results show that turning temperature can be accurately measured through a new method in turning process. Turning temperature become stable and will not jump after 20s later. In addition, the higher the hardness, the higher the energy is needed, leading to the higher turning temperature. The average turning temperature of the quenched specimen, normalized specimen and annealed specimen measured through the new method is 100°C,70°Cand 60°C, respectively. And the chip morphologies of quenched specimen, normalized specimen and annealed specimen are irregular band chips, spiral debris chips and C-shaped chips, respectively.

Traditional method of buoy gauge design is rather complicated, so an advanced method by building and solving fluid mechanics equations is proposed in this paper. The curve of the taper pipe inner surface is calculated, according to different buoy gravity and diameter. In order to examine the effect of this improved method, an experiment is carried out. Results show that linear property of the buoy gauge improved by new method is excellent.

Traditional method for measuring liquid level of absorption tower in wet flue gas desulfurization (WFGD) system is introduced in this paper, and it's found that measuring accuracy of the method exists in large deviation. A new method is proposed to measure liquid level of absorption tower for this situation. The local test results show that not only measurement result of new method is more close to the actual liquid level than traditional method, but also using new method can save operation cost and ensure the safety, stability, and economic operation of WFGD system.

Flipping a classroom is not only recording classroom lesson into a video and bringing homework into the classroom. It is a whole new method with a lot better result compared to the traditional method. In western countries such as the US, flipping a classroom is already becoming a new method adopted by many different schools and universities. This paper tries to explore the possibility of flipping a classroom for learning foreign language at BINUS University by comparing it with the recent practices and findings in the western countries. After the analysis it can be concluded that this method can be applied at BINUS University but on several conditions such as the improvement of infrastructures, and the teacher’s awareness and understanding to optimize their understanding about flipped learning.

This paper elaborates a method to realize the single phase full bridge inverter digital controller based on DSP TMS320F28027 and gives the design scheme of both its hardware and its software. In accordance with SPWM duty ratio parameter calculated with DSP algorithm, utilizing the EPWM module on DSP, it finally attains the inverting control from direct current signal to sine wave signal. Compared with traditional method, this new method improves the output waveform effectively and shows stable performance.

There is not any calibration specification or verification regulation for the milliampere-second meter, a very important instrument for preventive maintenance and calibrating the X-ray machine [1][2], is used to measure the value of the product of tube current and exposure time. To solve the problem that the traditional method can not offer the same standard value in different times, this paper presents a method for calibrating the milliampere-second meter by using a signal generator and a digital meter. It shows that the new method has good repeatability and stability.

This study discusses the use of concept map tool as a new method for teaching translation (from English language to Arabic language). This study comprised 80 students divided into two groups. The first group was taught the new vocabulary by using the concept tool method, whereas the second group was taught the new vocabulary by the traditional method. Pre-test and test of homogeneity was administered in order to ensure the equivalence of the students. During the training, the two groups were subjected to evaluation tests (first, second and final) in which the students were asked to summarize text into a paragraph by translation. The differences between the two methods were compared by using t-test. Results of pre-test indicated that the difference between the two groups was not significant and the scores were linearly distributed. Results of students’ scores between the two groups for the first exam was not significant, however, the difference between the two groups for second, final and total scores was significant. It was seen that the introduced method of text translation improves the student skills compared with the traditional method.

The human wrist has three rotational DOFs. Elbow muscle group work together to drive the wrist joint. According to the above characteristics of human wrist, parallel mechanism with three rotational DOFs of the imitation of human wrist is built. Traditional method for calculating DOF based on arithmetic is not that accurate. The method for analysis of DOF based on theory of constraint screw is explained. According to theory of constraint screw, the parallel mechanism built was analyzed. All the kinematic pairs in the mechanism will be expressed with screws so that the common constraints and the over constraints will be obtained. Through analysis above, the DOFs of the mechanism can be calculated and which a few degrees of freedom of the mechanism will be known. The new method avoids the disadvantages of the traditional method.

Dimensional and surface quality for plate production control is facing difficult engineering challenges. One of these challenges is that plates in large-scale mass production contain geometric uneven surfaces. There is a traditional measurement method used to assess the tile plate dimensions and surface quality based on standard specifications: ISO-10545-2: 1995, EOS-3168-2: 2007, and TIS 2398-2: 2008. A proposed measurement method of the dimensions and surface quality for ceramic oblong large-scale tile plate has been developed compared to the traditional method. The strategy of new method is based on CMM straightness measurement strategy instead of the centre point in the traditional method. Expanded uncertainties budgets in the measurements of each method have been estimated in detail. The capability of accurate estimations of real actual results for centre of curvature (CC), centre of edge (CE), warpage (W), and edge crack defects parameters has been achieved according to standards. Moreover, the obtained results not only showed better accurate new method but also improved the quality of plate products significantly.

Barbour [l] invented an ingenious method of establishing the asymptotic distribution of the number X of specified subgraphs of a random graph. The novelty of his method relies on using the first two moments of X only, despite the traditional method of moments that involves all moments of X (compare [8, 10, 11, 14]). He also adjusted that new method for counting isolated trees of a given size in a random graph. (For further applications of Barbour's method see [4] and [10].) The main goal of this paper is to show how this method can be extended to a general setting that enables us to derive asymptotic distributions of subsets of vertices of a random graph with various properties.
