The landscape industry has become one of the industries with higher resource and energy consumption, and the implementation of urban low-carbon landscape construction is of great significance to improve the ecological environment. In this study, the method of low-carbon landscape construction was studied from two aspects including the carbon source control and carbon sink, as well as both direct and indirect effect. The results showed that the low-carbon landscape construction can be controlled from five aspects including landscape planning, landscape design, low-carbon landscape technology, low-carbon landscape behavior and low-carbon policy. Through a series of low-carbon measures, carbon emissions can be controlled at a reasonable level during the urban landscape construction, which also promotes the sustainable development of urban ecological environment.

In urban development, the difference of construction time series and the diversity of the aesthetic standard all lead to the fragmentation of the urban landscape and the lack of effective integration. The research on urban landscape design based on sustainable development innovation was put forward in this paper. The background of the development of urban landscape design was expounded firstly, and the development status of urban landscape design under the concept of sustainable development innovation was introduced; then the urban landscape design method under the concept of sustainable development was put forward, and the urban landscape planning and design of a city was taken as an example and divided into three functional areas; in addition, the stereoscopic traffic planning, the landscape corridor design and the landscape design planning of water system were proposed. This study is of certain guiding significance for the actual urban landscape planning design.

Abandoned infrastructure presents a series of problems such as safety problems, destruction of urban landscape, and occupation of urban land resources, thus they need to be demolished or reconstructed. The key to organic regeneration of abandoned infrastructure in cities is sustaining the ecological environment, spatial environment and cultural environment they lie in, and combining with the sustainable development of the city after the reconstruction. Based on some typical international cases, this paper proposes three strategies in the regeneration of the abandoned infrastructure, including complete demolishment, necessary reconstruction and diverse development. Combined with “The Big Dig” project in Boston, the study has shown that it updates open space of cities, boots economic development and carries on organic regeneration of the abandoned infrastructure through the landacape intervention.

Low-carbon tourism, as a new tourism type, is evolved from the background of the low-carbon economy. Located in the west part of Gansu Province, Gannan is endowed with favorably inborn conditions for the development of low-carbon tourism, for its economic development is comparatively backward and the amount of incoming tourists is limited. The paper made an analysis on the base of existing tourism circumstances in Gannan, the frailty of its ecological environment and the destruction made by the tourists to prove the idea that development and persistence of low-carbon tourism in Gannan will push the sustainable development of the tourism further in this area. At the end of this paper, several practicable suggestions are advanced for the development of low-carbon tourism in Gannan.

In the context of China's economic development, tourism resources have been continuously developed, and the aesthetic requirements of tourism highway are higher and higher. In order to ensure the good ecological environment and promote the sustainable development of tourism highway in the process of highway construction, it is necessary to analyze the relevant strategies of tourism highway landscape design.

This book, the result of research carried out for the PhD in landscape design at the Florence University Faculty of Architecture, elaborates a methodological process for landscape planning in the smaller islands, comparing a number of case studies identified in the western Mediterranean, and illustrating many individual cases that broaden the overview of the specific demands of the islands. The research evolves at both scientific and humanistic levels, setting up a virtual parallel between the methods of construction of the cinema narration (which has frequently focused on the island in its various meanings) and the construction process of tools for territorial and landscape planning. The objective is to define a method that can monitor the sustainable development of the smaller islands, guiding it towards an enhanced awareness of their resources and potential, mindful of the threat of definitive loss in the case of mistaken decisions.

Vast tidal flats in Jiangsu coastal areas boast bright prospects for development. Developing and exploiting tidal flats in a scientific and efficient manner will help promote the sustainable development of the environment. In conformity with the requirement of modern tidal flats landscape design, the paper discusses the significance of genius loci and explores the interactions among humans, nature and place to realize sound interaction between humans and nature on both physical and spiritual level and enable space user to develop a sense of belonging to the place that can truly become humane environment desired by humans and fully realize the essential value of genius loci.

Ecological environment detection and environmental protection technology becomes an important means to ensure the sustainable development of human beings. Under the premise of the common development of the world’s environmental protection, environmental protection is becoming more and more important. Under the background of the development of science and technology, human beings should also fundamentally solve the ecological environmental protection problem. At the same time, multi-domain ecological environment monitoring data will be used to improve the data processing technology capacity to meet the government’s multi-source control needs and improve the government’s scientific decision-making effect. Starting from the significance of applying ecological environment detection and environmental protection technology, this paper explores and defines the problems existing in the ecological environment detection and environmental protection technology, and puts forward corresponding optimization strategies in combination with big data technology for reference.

AbstractThe implementation of circular economy in wood industries is an effective way for future sustainable development. The wood industries in China are not in the direction of circular economy approach due to less availability of assessment/calculation data of pollutants as per life cycle assessment (LCA) criteria. The present study focuses on the calculation of emission and pollutants from wood industries as per LCA; the emission and pollution data were collected from fiberboard Medium-density fiberboard (MDF), plywood and particleboard (PB) production. The comparative analysis of dust emissions, industrial waste gases and chemical oxygen demand (COD) were performed among three wood industries. The results revealed that the fiberboard industry was the highest emitter of dust, industrial waste gas and COD; and particleboard industry was the least emitter. Further, results indicated that pollutant index of wood industries were significantly changed between 2015 and 2017; the industrial waste water discharge increased five folds and the COD, dust and industrial gases increased two times. This study provides with the emission and pollutants data of wood industries as per LCA to promote the sustainable development for circular and low carbon economics.

Low-carbon economy is a new path which our country is taking to develop economy. As one of the provinces in the southeast coast of China, Fujian develop a low-carbon economy directly relating to the transformation of its economic growth, conservation of energy, improvement of productivity, innovation of technology and so on. We can say that the development of low-carbon economy directly affects the sustainable development of economy and society in Fujian province of China. Therefore, firstly, we believe that government and enterprise should optimize the allocation of resource and improve the utilization of resource. Secondly, the tax policies are supposed to adjust to stimulate the development of environmental protection industry. Thirdly, government should accelerate the construction of infrastructures. Fourthly, the legal system needs to be built and perfected so as to promote the development of low-carbon economy. At last, the investment of techniques is supposed to increase to a certain degree, and the ability of innovation and management of enterprises should be promoted to adapt the development of low-carbon economy of Fujian province.
