The rise of energy consumption has also increased emissions of the “three wastes” (wastewater, waste gas, and industrial solid waste), and environmental emergencies caused by pollutants, natural disasters, and production safety accidents have aroused social concerns. As few scholars have combined treatment efficiency of the three wastes with environmental emergencies to explore their relationships, this research thus uses a two-stage undesirable Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method to explore the situations of 4 regions and 30 provinces in China from 2013 to 2017 based on such interactive perspectives. The study finds that the overall regional environmental efficiency in China is generally low, and in terms of regional differences, the eastern and northeastern regions are better than the central and western regions. The efficiency values of the three wastes in China have also fluctuated greatly from 0.7 down to 0.2 in recent years. The efficiency of environmental emergencies in China is greatly impacted by the efficiency of environmental governance inputs. Based on the results, the study proposes that the eastern provinces can be an example for promoting balanced regional development and offers policy recommendations such as taking precautions against environmental emergencies.

In this study, gas flow fields were simulated using ANSYS 2020R2, Fluid Flow Fluent computational fluids dynamic (CFD) software based on the continuity, velocity, temperature, energy and k - e turbulence. The overall objective of the study is to compare the velocity maps inside the wet scrubber system for three different In-Line scrubber bottom inlet designs. Also, the behavior of the temperature of the mixture inside the scrubber is studied according to the number of nozzles provided by each system from those proposed for study. The numerical simulation using CFD is an effective method to study the flow characteristics of a counter-flow wet scrubber system and the most efficient wet scrubber model is the one with several. The results show that the residuals have a very good job of converging at minimum flow contours and vectors at the inlet across the scrubbing chamber and outlet shows a distributed flow. The speed of water droplets sprayed by the nozzles during mixing with waste gas in the scrubber chamber is double at model with 52 nozzles compared to the first model, equipped with only 13 nozzles. The velocity of clean gases discharged to the ship’s hull shows increases of over 100% of the values, with the increase of the number of nozzles. Spray nozzles improve mixing between the scrubbing liquid and waste gas, by injecting liquid through nozzles to create a fine droplet spray pattern. In this study it can be seen how the number of nozzles influences the quality of the mixture between the scrubbing liquid and waste gas.

Gaseous emerging organic compounds (GEOCs) may harm human health and ecological environment. High temperature composting of livestock manure may produce oxytetracycline (OTC) waste gas. Here, we investigated treatment OTC in waste gas by combined ozone and membrane biofilm reactor (MBfR) with desulphurizing bacteria. The performance, the microbial community, gene function and the mechanism for OTC removal in the ozone-MBfR were evaluated. The ozone-MBfR system could achieve more degradation of OTC completely than MBfR. Desulfovibrio, Lentimicrobium, Aminivibrio, Thioalkalispira, Erysipelothrix, Mangroviflexus, Azoarcus, Thauera, Geobacter, Paracoccus, and Dethiosulfatibacter were the dominant genera. Pseudomonas, Escherichia, Bacteroides, Salmonella, Paracoccus, Stappia were contribution to OTC degradation. With the addition of ozone, the community diversity increased; some genera, such as Tenericutes- uncultured, and Desulfovibrio, increased in abundance, whereas others, such as Thauera, and Petrimonas, decreased. Ozone destroyed the enol structure in OTC molecular structure and produces biodegradable products, ozone oxidation was combined with biodegradation, to achieve thoroughly degrade OTC in waste gas. The novel hybrid ozone-MBfR is a cost-effective and robust alternative to GEOCs treatment.

The installation of an additional stage of the "wet" waste gas purification unit at the alumina sintering furnaces ensured the achievement of a high degree of purification of gas emissions from fine impurities up to 96 % and the standards of maximum permissible emissions of solid pollutants into the atmosphere established for an industrial enterprise. The formed slude after gas cleaning is proposed to be sent for further processing to the hydrochemistry workshop, thereby ensuring its disposal without contamination of the natural environment. The analysis of air pollution indicators confirmed a decrease in emissions of solid pollutants in the atmospheric air of Achinsk.

Climate neutral and sustainable energy sources will play a key role in future energy production. Biomethanation by gas to gas conversion of flue gases is one option with regard to renewable energy production. Here, we performed the conversion of synthetic carbon monoxide (CO)-containing flue gases to methane (CH4) by artificial hyperthermophilic archaeal co-cultures, consisting of Thermococcus onnurineus and Methanocaldococcus jannaschii, Methanocaldococcus vulcanius, or Methanocaldococcus villosus. Experiments using both chemically defined and complex media were performed in closed batch setups. Up to 10 mol% CH4 was produced by converting pure CO or synthetic CO-containing industrial waste gases at a high rate using a co-culture of T. onnurineus and M. villosus. These findings are a proof of principle and advance the fields of Archaea Biotechnology, artificial microbial ecosystem design and engineering, industrial waste-gas recycling, and biomethanation.

Abstract The operation of a diesel power plant not only improves reliability but also has an impact on the environment in the Belinyu sub-district. The purpose of this PLTD development is to meet the increasing electricity demand. Environmental aspects in the construction of this PLTD include exhaust gas emission factors which are pivotal to notice. Meanwhile, this low emission power plant located next to the diesel power plant has not yet had an optimal operating pattern because there is no energy storage system. By optimizing the design of the solar power plant and optimization the operating pattern of the diesel power plant, it has the potential to reduce the operating hours of the diesel power plant engine as well as the potential to reduce exhaust gas emissions in the amount of 0.0060264 mn tons CO2/year.

Abstract This paper mainly adopts the actor analysis and correspondence analysis in multivariate statistical analysis., for 6 indicators of the main pollutant contents emission in waste gas by 31 cities in China. The results of Factor Analysis showed that with cities in 6 indicators were controlled by two independent factors. The 2 factors, which were determined and named, were f 1, domestic waste gas pollutant emission factor, and f 2, factor of Industrial waste gas pollutant emission. The percentage of accumulated contribution of variances was 85.51%. The result s of correspondence analysis showed that, six indicators and cities which had significant or close relationships with 31 cities.
