In this paper, effect of FBG coating in curing monitoring of composites was studied. In the experiment, three kinds of sensors were embedded in the composites. Excursion of the wavelength and temperature was tested in the whole curing process. 3-point bending test of composites which FBG was embedded in was done. Results showed that FBG could be exactly reflecting the relationship of stress and strain in bending state of composites. After cured, composites were heat up to 180°C for 1 hour. Sectional appearance of different optic fibers in room temperature and high temperature was got by optical microscope.

In this paper, curing process monitoring of vacuum infusion molding process (VIMP) based on FBG for glass fiber reinforced vinyl resins was studied. In the experiment, three kinds of sensors were embedded in the composites. Excursion of the wavelength and temperature was tested in the whole curing process. Reflected power was tested by spectrometer in the molding process, the gel point was tested. In addition, 3-point bending test of composites which FBG was embedded in was done. Results showed that FBG could be exactly reflecting the relationship of stress and strain in bending state of composites.

Research was conducted to determine the effect of lubricants on stress and strain in the contact of metal surfaces. Experiments were carried out on the introduction of a fixed and moving indenter in contact with a dry and lubricated surface. The steel spherical specimen was pressed into a lubricated and dry metal surface. The microstructures of the structure of the surface layer are studied under various conditions of deformation. The diagrams of the relative deformation of the surface layers are constructed. The mechanism of the formation and distribution of internal stresses for dry and greased contact is described. Experimental studies of the introduction of a moving steel indenter into a lubricated surface have been carried out. The relationship of the deformation mechanisms of lubricated surfaces with their wear resistance is determined. The results obtained are recommended for predicting the durability of lubricated friction units according to the criterion of contact strength.

The relationship of the resistivity versus synthesizing temperature of sol-gel YBa2Cu3O7-x samples, with Tc 91K, was studied while synthesizing in flowing oxygen atmosphere. A set of high temperature -T curves were obtained for the whole process. After four rounds of synthesizing, the resistivity of the sample was =1.00×10-3cm at room temperature. The -T curve of the last round also showed that the orthorhombic to tetragonal phase transformation of the sample occurred around 600oC that is lower than the YBa2Cu3O7-x sample prepared in ambient atmosphere. Other measurements such as X-ray diffraction, SEM measurement, low temperature R-T and M-T measurement were also taken to get more information of these samples.

Glass fiber–halloysite nanotube (GF/HNT) nanocomposites were fabricated with different numbers of fiber layers and were exposed to a high-temperature water environment to analyze the role of the HNTs regarding the relationship of interface between the fibers and the moisture absorption behavior. The sections of the GF/HNT nanocomposite plates were divided, and the change in the moisture absorption rate was measured. As a result, the ratio of the HNT to epoxy resin was not related to the water deterioration phenomenon according to the fiber-laminated thickness. However, in the curing process after the vacuum bag molding, the external pressure that was applied to each interface influences the flow characteristics and promotes the occurrence of HNT agglomeration, which interferes with interfacial crosslinking.

In this paper, the torsional fatigue tests under angle control at the constant strain rate of 5×10-3/s were conducted on 63Sn–37Pb solder over a range of . The relationship of stress and strain for the 63Sn–37Pb solder was investigated. The number of cycle with loading decrease of 25% was thought as the fatigue lifetime. The parameters of Coffin-Manson equation were determined based on the experimental data.

Freeze-thaw made the microstructure of the soil produce a certain degree of damage, which was relevant with the soil water content. 6 kinds of remolded soil of the water content was prepared, at low temperature of freezed, in room temperature of melt, after not consolidated non-drained triaxial compression test, the soil shear strength parameters was determined. The results show: after thawed, soil shear strength had reduced significantly, and water content exerted such a pronounced effect on strength of reducing amplitude. Accordingly, the relationship of shear strength reducing after thawing of remolded soil and the water content was set up preliminarily.

An alternative formulation of plasticity is discussed in which strain rather than stress serves as the independent variable. The relationship of the formulation to traditional plasticity is examined for cases of both single and multiple loading surfaces. Conditions are given under which the stress and strain-space formulations are equivalent.
