In order to effectively implementing the organization and management of large-scale sport events, and carrying out the important role of project management during the events, by integrating the use of research methods such as system science, management science, information technology, we designed a information system for large-scale sport events based on project management. In this paper we systematically discusses the characteristics of large-scale sport events based on project management, explores the application goal of information system for large-scale sport events based on project management, and on this basis we elaborates comprehensively on the system’s functional requirements, framework, functional structure, and other major issues during the execution.

This chapter reveals the roles of Information Technology (IT) and Knowledge Management (KM) in Project Management (PM) metrics, thus explaining the theoretical and practical concepts of IT, IT capability, Information System (IS) effectiveness, KM, and PM; the measures of IT, KM, and PM metrics; and the significance of IT and KM in PM metrics. The fulfillment of IT and KM is essential for modern organizations that seek to serve suppliers and customers, increase business performance, strengthen competitiveness, and achieve constant success in global business. Therefore, it is crucial for modern organizations to explore their IT and KM applications, establish a strategic plan to routinely inspect their functional advancements, and promptly respond to the IT and KM needs of customers. The chapter argues that applying IT and KM in PM metrics has the potential to enhance organizational performance and achieve strategic goals in the social media age.

This chapter describes a data warehouse planning project to develop a large-scale management information system for a Taiwan government agency in managing a nationwide multi-billion science and technology project management and control process. The planning and consulting period lasted through the time period of 1997 and 1998. The outsourcing and implementation tasks are expected to continue through 2000. In this chapter, we present the framework and model of the data warehouses developed by the committee during the planning and consulting stage. Our focus is on the data design and module design for a multi-dimensional database system. The data design aims to provide an integral model for the internal and external data sources. A core view of the multi-dimensional database is developed. The module design attempts to give an analytic model of the field, division, project, and agent performance along the dimension hierarchies. Actual versus budget and actual versus forecast analysis along with the time series analysis and ad hoc analysis are supported in the systems.

Information technology of information system software architecture structural synthesis is proposed. It is used for evolutionary models of the software lifecycle, which provides configuration and formation of software to control the realization and recovery of computing processes in parallel and distributed computing resources structures. The technology is applied in the framework of the software requirements analysis, design of architecture, design and integration of software. Method of combining vertices for multilevel graph model of software architecture and automata-based method of checking performance limitations to software are based on the advanced graph model of software architecture. These methods are proposed in the framework of information technology and allow forming a rational structure of the program, as well as checking for compliance with the functional and non-functional requirements of the end user. The essence of proposed information technology is in displaying of the customer's requirements in the current version of the graph model of program complex structure and providing a reconfiguration of the system modules. This process is based on the analysis and processing of the graph model, software module specifications, formation of software structure in accordance with the graph model, software verification and its compilation.

Waste today is the most influential factor on the environment, it can not be denied that the waste will always exist as long as the activity of life is still running. Law no. 18 Year 2008 on trash  management explains  about  the  need  to  change  the  pattern  of  conventional trash management into trash management which is based on trash reduction and handling. The role of Bank Trash becomes important as one of the organizations that is expected to be able to carry out the task to be able to provide an active solution to the trash problem in Prabumulih City. This study aims to analyze the condition of information systems and information technology (IS / TI), in the Trash Bank environtment. Trash Bank Prabumulih City was chosen as the object of research because the existence of garbage bank becomes a very important requirement at this time. The literature review is used as a method in reviewing journals to determine the role of information systems and information technology (IS / IT) in optimizing interactions between organizations, customers and the wider community. This research produces information about the condition of information system and information technology (IS / IT) in Prabumulih Trash Bank so it can help give solution in an effort to increase the role of Information System and Information Technology in supporting the operational activity of Prabumulih Trash Bank.
