Electron trapping materials SrS:Eu2+,Sm3+ were prepared by hydrothermal method at 200 °C for 5 h. The phase structure, microstructure and optical properties were characterized by XRD, SEM, EDAX, PL, PSL, and TL, respectively. The sample was stimulated by a 980 nm infrared laser after exposing to the sun light, It can be seen that the PSL emission spectra was a band spectrum with one peak at 605 nm, and this emission was ascribed to characteristic 5d → 4f transition of Eu2+, and the photo stimulated luminescence phenomenon was observed.

Electron trapping materials SrSO4:Eu2+were prepared by hydrothermal method at 200 °C for 20 h. The phase structure, microstructure and optical properties were characterized by XRD, SEM, EDAX, PL, PSL and TL, respectively. The sample was stimulated by a 980 nm infrared laser after exposing to the UV light. It can be seen that the PSL emission spectra had two bands with peaks at 793 nm and 835 nm, and the photo stimulated luminescence phenomenon was observed.

One-dimensional titania structures were synthesized trough a simple hydrothermal process in a highly alkaline conditions. The aim of this work was to elucidate the effect of time on the formation of 1D titanates as well on its structural characteristics (morphology, phase composition, surface area). Apart from that, the effect of heat treatment conditions on the stability of titanate based 1D samples has been investigated. The results have revealed that it is possible to form one-dimensional titanates already after 1 hour of hydrothermal synthesis. Although the composition of titanates is still under debate, the results probably correspond to the layered sodium titanates. The 1D prepared structures show a remarkable stability during heating, remaining the basic morphology and composition even up to 700?C.

The synthesis and characterization of new deuterated liquid crystal (LC) compounds based on phenyl tolane core is described in this paper. The work presents an alternative molecular approach to the conventional LC design. Correlations between molecular structure and mesomorphic and optical properties for compounds which are alkyl-hydrogen terminated and alkyl-deuterium, have been drawn. The compounds are characterized by mass spectrometry (electron ionization) analysis and infrared spectroscopy. They show enantiotropic nematic behavior in a broad temperature range, confirmed by a polarizing thermomicroscopy and differential scanning calorimetry. Detailed synthetic procedures are attached. Synthesized compounds show a significantly reduced absorption in the near-infrared (NIR) and medium-wavelength infrared (MWIR) radiation range, and stand as promising components of medium to highly birefringent liquid crystalline mixtures.

Abstract Silver nanowires (AgNWs) have attracted attentions form both academia and industry due to their outstanding electronic and optical properties. The AgNW-based devices for various uses were invented in recent years. It is well known that the sizes of AgNWs have a crucial effect on the performance of AgNW-based devices. However, how to synthesize AgNWs with controlled sizes is still unsolved. Researchers reported many methods to synthesize AgNWs with different sizes in the past decade. However, a review that focuses on the synthetic methods of AgNWs is very rare. The aim of this review is to summarize the recent developments that have been achieved with AgNWs, and many procedure details and results and discussions will be provided for practical use.
