The paper discuss the methods of extracting process features of parts from STEP AP203 file and collecting process information from the macro of CAM software. First the STEP file and its data structure are analyzed, and the method of extracting and recognizing process features is studied. Secondly, according to the different processing methods of part, the function of macros in PowerMILL is used to save excellent processing information, and the reusable process database is established. Finally, the mapping between the process features and the processing information is established. Take mold electrode as a example, these methods are proved in this paper, and a system which can recognize process features, collect processing information and program NC code automatically is developed.

In this paper, a method of automatic NC code programming is studied. The data structure used to store graph information is the base of automatic programming system. By utilizing the object-oriented tree data structure proposed in the paper, the disadvantages of the method caused by using simple data structures can be overcome. In processing information, the judgment of topological relationship between two outlines is very important. The Loop Extremum Method is easy, convenient and with no limitations. The system adds plenty of technological parameters, provides multiple machining patterns. In the end, an example is given to test and verify the system`s functions.

In this paper, the research focus on NC process information integration methods based on database and process information extraction from macro files of heterogeneous commercial CAM platforms. First, analyzed the macro file characteristics of studied CAM system to build heterogeneous systems variables mapping table and establish standard macro file for each studied CAM systems; Second, designed macro file self-learning mechanism based on characteristics of the macro file, extracted implicit process information in macro files and saved to build General process Database; Finally, used the General process Database and the standard macro files to generate target macro files to achieve automatic programming. The process Information integration method in this research improved the efficiency and processing quality of NC machining, and made excellent process experience well inheritance and reuse.

Because of the industrial robot’s advantages and characteristics of degree of freedom, it is broadly applied in mold and die of curved surfaces polishing. But its excessive degree of freedom also brings great difficulties in programming for there is CAD/CAM software can do it well. By analyzing the ISO NC code and robot’s programming criterion, this paper develops off-line programming software for industrial robots in free-form surfaces polishing.

In this paper, a method of NC process information extraction and import to template file based on Process Recording Files and database was proposed, which provides an effective way for NC process information sharing and reuse, and made positive effect on current situation in CNC manufacturers, such as: type of product is relative stable, process of CAM programming has lots of duplication, process parameters are dependent on programmers, the processing quality is instable and so on. The Process Recording Files are from mainstream heterogeneous CAM softwares, such as: PowerMILL, UG/CAM, which used to record CAM programming process, macro files from PowerMILL and UG/CAM are belongs to this kind of file.

For path planning and program generation of multi-type holes, this paper presents a method of the path planning, by using the improved genetic algorithm based on chaos algorithm, and develops an interactive programming system for multi-type holes. Users can choose regular holes, and input the parameters and the necessary information, according to their needs. Then the system will combine holes automatically, and calculate the position coordinates of each hole. After that the path planning is carried out by using the improved genetic algorithm. Finally, the system carries out the simulation experiment of the path planning, and outputs NC program. Experiment shows the system can realize the path planning of multi-type holes by a combination of regular holes and generate the NC code after path planning. The optimization of path is better and the operation is more convenient than UG and other professional CAM software.

As there are various machine configuration and frequent changes of cutter orientation in 5-axis machining, the standard NC codes are not inter-exchangeable among machines. This phenomenon induces a lot of cutting difficulties and machining problems such as the inconvenient working process for operators and very low cutting efficiency. At present, some advanced machine controllers already can accept the APT code besides NC code to increase the cutting flexibility. They also offer some advanced machining functions such as tool center point control and spatial compensations of tool, etc. By way of APT interpreting, the common controller can also implement these advanced functions. Besides, CAD/CAM software also supports APT post-processor to generate NC code for different machine configurations. This means the application of ATP program has played an important role in five-axis machining. However, although CAD/CAM software supports the interpretation of APT program as a core key technology of five-axis machining, the manufacturers of controller with advanced functions are unwilling to open their system. Up to now, there has been few related research papers published on this topic. In this paper, we proposed an APT interpretation method for five-axis machining. This method includes seven functional modules and related implementing procedures. A case study has been adopted to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method. The research result could be adopted as a reference to develop the value-added technology in 5-axis machine tool application for academy and industry.

We propose evaluation criteria for processing information extraction in discriminating motion from EMG signals. The concept involves conditional information entropy with attention to the ambiguity of information on discriminating motion. Experiments indicated a strong correlation between entropy and the discrimination rate. We evaluated the setting of signal measurement points from proposed evaluation criteria and found that measurement points could be selected.

Which decision processing information is most diagnostic for assessing (moral) character? We test if decision time is a more ambiguous cue than more direct types of decision processing information, such as difficulty, doubt, or effort. Our direct information hypothesis predicts that these more direct cues will have a larger effect on competence, warmth, and morality ratings than decision time. Participants (N = 871) evaluated a decision maker who made a moral or monetary choice in four scenarios (within-subjects) and were provided with five different types decision process information (time, difficulty, doubt, effort, control condition with no information). Inconsistent with the hypothesis, the effect of direct types of process information on warmth and morality evaluations were no different than that of decision time. However, for competence we found that doubt and (marginally) difficulty had stronger effects on competence ratings than decision time, thus partially supporting our hypothesis. Observers may use any type of decision process information, ambiguous or direct, as a cue to make inferences about the decision maker’s moral motives. For competence evaluation, however, results suggest that this same decision process information may be interpreted differently, as cognitive capacity.

. Lots of new automatic polishing methods and equipments have been developed to solve the problem of low efficiency and quality in the traditional handwork curved surfaces polishing. However, these methods and equipments are complex and difficult to be applied in the industrial production. This paper proposes a new technology of rotate surface compliant polishing based on NC lathe cutter radius compensation. An efficient and compact rotate surfaces compliant polishing system is developed, which consists of a NC lathe, flexible polishing tool, workpiece, fixture and also the automatic programming software MASTERCAM. The polishing tool-path and NC code can be created in MASTERCAM. The value of the cutter radius compensation can also be set in NC code, so that the rotated surfaces can be polished by a traditional NC lathe. Experiment of polishing the aluminum sphere workpiece is taken, and the satisfying surface quality is achieved.
