The extraction of collagen from fish scales with papain under ultrasonic pretreatment was conducted in this paper. The effects of the ultrasonic pretreatment time, the ratio of papain to fish scales, the extraction temperature and the extraction time on the extraction rate of collagen were investigated by single factor experiment and orthogonal experiment, respectively. The results showed that the optimum conditions for collagen extraction from fish scales were: ultrasonic pretreatment time 4min, ratio of papain to fish scales 4%, temperature 60°C and extraction time 5h. Under the optimum conditions the extraction rate of collagen reached 90.7%.

In this paper, the ultrasonic extraction method of Oligomeric Proantho Cyanidin with chestnut shells as raw materials is studied. Using single factor method we study the effects of different extraction time, extraction reagent, extracting agent concentration and ultrasonic power on the extraction rate of Oligomeric Proantho Cyanidin. After analyzing these various factors, we make the orthogonal experiment with the factors including extraction time, extraction agent concentration, extraction temperature, solid-liquid ration, and get the optimal conditions. The experimental results show that the optimum extraction conditions are as follow: time of 30 min, extracting agent of 40% (v %) ethanol aqueous solution, extraction temperature of 40 °C, solid-liquid ratio of 1: 25 g/mL and ultrasonic power of 100 w; under these conditions the extraction rate of Oligomeric Proantho Cyanidin is 3.418%.

Seed oil of Nigella sativa L. is a popular edible oil in Egypt. How to improve the extraction efficiency of the oil will expand the use of the resource. In this paper, the four extraction factors, particle size of the seed, liquid-seed ratio, extraction time, and temperature, were optimized by the single-factor and orthogonal experiment to increase the extraction yield and linoleic acid concentration. The results showed that the twice extraction technology could increase the oil rate of 23.55% compared with the once extraction technology. The extraction rate of the once extraction could reach 33.51% under the conditions of liquid-seed ratio: 9 : 1 mL/g, extraction temperature: 35°C, extraction time: 1 h, and particle size: 60 meshes. The optimum twice extraction conditions with the extraction rate of 43.78% were 8 : 1 ml/g, 40°C, 1.5 h, and 60 meshes. Besides, the highest concentration of linoleic acid (58.09 mg/g) was twice extraction condition with 7 : 1 mL/g, 40°C, 2 h, and 60 meshes.

Saffron, which has many kinds of biological activities, has been widely used in medicine, cosmetics, food, and other fields of health promotion industries. Crocins are the main component of saffron (Crocus sativus L.). At present, most of the extraction methods for crocins require long time or special instruments to complete the process and some of them are not suitable for industrial production at present. In this article, homogenate extraction technology which is a convenient and efficient method was developed for crocins extraction from saffron. Firstly, the influences of extraction voltage, extraction time, ethanol concentration, and temperature on crocins yield were studied by single factor experiments; and then response surface methodology (RSM) was used to optimize levels of four variables based on the result of single factor experiments. Results showed that the optimum extraction process conditions for crocins were as follows: extraction voltage, 110 V; ethanol concentration, 70%; extraction temperature, 57°C; and extraction time, 40 s. Based on these conditions, the extraction yield of crocins can reach 22.76% which is higher than ultrasonic extraction method. Therefore, homogenate extraction is an effective way to extract crocins from saffron with higher extraction yield and shorter extraction time.

Photocatalyst of Fe-Sm-Yb modified TiO2 loaded on clay brick was prepared for degradation of NH3-N in coking water. The influence factors of NH3-N degradation rates were discussed by single factor experiment and orthogonal experiment. The optimum process conditions of photocatalytic degradation NH3-N in coking water were confirmed. The results show that NH3-N degradation rates 82.23% were highest in the conditions of pH 6.5, photocatalyst charge of 1.4 g, illumination for 6h, reaction at 55°C, calcination at 500°C.

The current work was to evaluate the lipase-catalyzed acidolysis of corn oil with caprylic acid (CA) in organic system under bath ultrasonic pretreatment and to analyze the physicochemical properties of structured lipids (SLs). Under optimum conditions (Novozym 40086 lipase, 200 W ultrasound power, 10 min ultrasound pretreatment time, 12% dosage of lipase, Triacylglycerol (TAG)/Free fatty acids (FFA): 1/8, 40 °C for 6 h), a 45.55% CA incorporation was obtained (named SLs-U). The highest CA incorporation was 32.75% for conventional method at reaction time of 10 h (named SLs-N). The predominant TAG types of SLs were MLM (medium-, long- and medium-chain-type TAGs) and MLL (medium-, long- and long-chain-type TAGs). X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that both SLs-U and SLs-N present β form. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis showed that both SLs-U and SLs-N show a lower melting and crystallization temperature than corn oil. This study suggested that bath ultrasonic pretreatment can accelerate lipase-catalyzed acidolysis synthesis of MLM structured lipids in an organic system, and two kinds of structured lipids show similar physicochemical properties.

Pectin was extracted from Ramie [Boehmeria nivea (L.) Gaud] through ammonium oxalate extraction method. The influences of single factors (ammonium oxalate concentration, extraction time, solid–liquid ratio, and reaction temperature) on the yield of ramie pectin were studied. Orthogonal experiment was then performed to optimize the combination of the given conditions using pectin yield as the measuring indicator. Finally, the partial physicochemical properties of ramie pectin extracted in the optimal conditions were analyzed. Results showed that the optimal conditions for single-element experiment were 3.5 h (extraction time), 1:25 (solid–liquid ratio), 0.85% (concentration of ammonium oxalate) and 95 °C (extraction temperature), and that the optimal combination conditions for orthogonal experiment was 4 h, 1:30, 0.95% and 90 °C. The ramie pectin yield extracted in optimal conditions reached 15.81%, and its protein content, galacturonic acid content, and esterification degree were 0.659 mg/g, 49.92%, and 53.11%, respectively. Therefore, the proposed method was successfully applied to obtain ramie pectin and may provide scientific basis for improving the multi-utilization value of ramie.

Abstract The effects of different prebiotics and oxygen scavengers on making the process of xanthan gum and chitosan (XC) Bifidobacterium bifidum BB01 microcapsules were studied by single factor experiment and Plackett-Burman screening test, ascorbic acid, sodium erythorbate and xylo-oligosaccharide had significant effects. Based on the previous studies, the process XC B. Bifidum BB01 microcapsules were further optimized by Box-Behnken model in this study. Response surface analysis showed that the best additive amoumt of ascorbic acid, sodium erythorbate and xylo-oligosaccharide were 3.0%, 2.36% and 4.99%, respectively. The viable counts of B. Bifidum BB01 microcapsules reached to 1.52×1010CFU/g from 1.25×1010 CFU/g, the encapsulation yield reached to 94.88% from 90% under the optimum conditions. It provided the research foundation for the afterward production and exploration of the process XC B. Bifidum BB01 microcapsules.
