Buildings have consumed around 1/4-1/3 of the country’s energy consumptions, of which the envelope structures, especially the outer walls, takes the largest percentage. The pilot program for external thermal insulation in new rural construction has commenced along with full implementation of outer wall energy saving and thermal insulation in Hot Summer and Cold Winter Zone. The program has proved the thermal insulating technology which is characterized by broad applicability, strong operability, reliable thermal insulating performance and low comprehensive cost, is a set of thermal insulating technology compatible with the level of rural economic and technical development in China.

In this paper, thermal insulating bonding mortar has been produced by the spent polystyrene foam particles, cement, sand, tackifier and water etc. It shows that thermal insulation performance and compressive strength of thermal insulating bonding mortar are similar with those of aerated concrete by comparison tests. In this paper, the new wall is made by thermal insulating bonding mortar and aerated concrete blocks, and the results show the thermal insulating performance of this wall can be improved and its cold bridge impact can be eliminated too. Correspondingly, the energy saving effect of buildings can be improved rapidly.

EPS thermal insulation system is one of the wider applications of exterior insulation system in the area of North China. In engineering applications, it is extremely important to improve the thermal insulation engineering quality to familiar with the structure principle, strengthen strict re-inspection of the material properties , standardized operation and fine construction, but also conducive to ensure its energy-saving effect and durability.

In view of the fast growth of rural residential buildings construction, the lack of scientific and rational design and technical guidance, the lack of the concept of "energy-saving, land-saving, water and materials conservation, environmental protection", towns and villages constructions having been in disorder and confusion states. The method is to sum up some strategies of eco-residential buildings design by analyzing overall planning in new rural construction, single building design and testing new rural residential temperature in Zhangbei. Aim is to provide some reference to planning and design staff in new rural construction.

Based on the energy saving design standards in hot summer and cold winter zone like Anhui province, a new type of sandwich insulation composite wall panel is researched, Influence on thermal performances of new sandwich insulation composite wall panel, due to in different thermal insulation material, different content of the oblique connection rebar, different thermal insulation layer thickness and different internal and external wall thickness, are analyzed. The results show that, in not take extra insulation measures, this kind of sandwich insulation composite wall panel thermal performance can meet the hot summer and cold winter area energy-saving design standard requirements. Research results and practical engineering contact tightly, It has a comparatively high practical value.

In this paper the software DeST was adopted as simulation tool for hourly dynamic simulation analysis for the summer cooling energy consumption of different interior and outer structure systems. Then the software Fluent was adopted for dynamic simulation analysis by seconds for the enclosure structures surface temperature and heat flow within 10~14 days. The results show that in hot summer and cold winter zone the energy-saving rate is less than 5% when only outer wall is in exterior insulation and intermittent use energy characteristics, but if the outer and interior walls are all in the external thermal insulation, the energy-saving rate will be greatly improved; Under the condition of unsteady, wall temperature fluctuation is far less than the outdoor environment temperature and the range of maximum and minimum temperature is only 2 ~ 3 °C,besides the range will be smaller only to 0.5 °C or so if using external thermal insulation; Finally the air conditioning energy consumption differences with Different retaining structures mainly reflected as the size of heat flux on the interior surface of the wall. Base on the intermittent and loculose energy use characteristics in hot summer and cold winter zone the heat flux dissipated on interior wall are the main part.

New rural construction is one of the key tasks identified by the Party and State as the national target program until 2020. Many documents of the Party and the State have been issued expressing political will to implement the tasks of building new rural areas, over 6 years of implementation, the National Target Program for new rural construction has achieved certain achievements, the appearance of rural areas of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas has gradually changed dramatically, contributing significantly to promoting socio-economic and cultural development. Many provinces and cities throughout the whole country have built some new rural models that meet nineteen criterias and arrive on time.

Space cooling is currently the fastest-growing end-user in buildings. The global warming trend combined with increased population and economic development will lead to accelerated growth in space cooling in the future, especially in China. The hot summer and cold winter (HSCW) zone is the most densely populated and economically developed region in China, but with the worst indoor thermal environment. Relatively few studies have been conducted on the actual measurements in the optimization of insulation design under typical intermittent cooling modes in this region. This case study was conducted in Chengdu—the two residences selected were identical in design, but the south bedroom of the case study residence had interior insulation (inside insulation on all opaque interior surfaces of a space) retrofitted in the bedroom area in 2017. In August 2019, a comparative on-site measurement was done to investigate the effect of the retrofit work under three typical intermittent cooling patterns in the real-life scenario. The experimental result shows that interior insulation provides a significant improvement in energy-saving and the indoor thermal environment. The average energy savings in daily cooling energy consumption of the south bedroom is 42.09%, with the maximum reaching 48.91%. In the bedroom with interior insulation retrofit, the indoor temperature is closer to the set temperature and the vertical temperature difference is smaller during the cooling period; when the air conditioner is off, the room remains a comfortable temperature for a slightly longer time.
