Partner selection process is a major issue in the formation of a virtual enterprise. This paper analyzes the partner selection process of a virtual enterprise and provides its model based on Petri net. The model describes the dynamic behaviors such as concurrent, asynchronism among the factors in partner selection process. In addition, paper analyzes the liveness of the process model by means of the reachability tree.

Traditional enterprise information systems have many defects, so business process management (BPM) system was applied to the virtual enterprise and virtual enterprise process model is established based on BPM system. The dominant enterprise and the member enterprises used BPM system for their own information management system in the virtual enterprise. The BPM system model of the virtual enterprise was divided into the formation process and the operation process. The analysis method based on stochastic colored Petri net(SCPN) was also presented which can be used to model and analyze the process model in order to obtain the system performance analysis data. The virtual enterprise resources utilization rate can be seen. The model extends the application area of BPM system and provides a reference for the construction and management of virtual enterprise.

Through the analysis of the execution and dispatching principle of the Petri net, the business process management mode based on Petri net is proposed. We merge the place node and the transition node, and reside the token in the node. The only token in process instances and the sub-token in parallel process are introduced, which can avoid conflicts caused by multi-tokens. The business process model for the drawings design and approval is established, and it is verified by the workflow modeling system.

In order to develop the process-oriented software, we put forward hierarchical colored Petri net (HCPN) to model business process. This approach consists of hierarchical decomposition graph, detailed process graph. Furthermore, the concept of business process components (BPCs) is proposed to facility the business process modeling. The software components, which are constructs of the information system, can be derived by means of the mapping from the relevant business process components. The development of business process-oriented application will be more convenient and rapid based on component library. Such an application becomes more flexible to the changing environment.

This paper proposes an extended technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) for partner selection in a virtual enterprise (VE). The imprecise and fuzzy information of the partner candidate and the risk preferences of decision makers are both considered in the group multiattribute decision-making model. The weighted possibilistic mean values are used to handle triangular fuzzy numbers in the fuzzy environment. A ranking procedure for partner candidates is developed to help decision makers with varying risk preferences select the most suitable partners. Numerical examples are presented to reflect the feasibility and efficiency of the proposed TOPSIS. Results show that the varying risk preferences of decision makers play a significant role in the partner selection process in VE under a fuzzy environment.

PT. ISS INDONESIA is a company that already has employees, which is very big. With seven branches spread across Indonesia, PT. ISS INDONESIA has more than 500 workers. Recruitment will continue as the opening of supermarkets or PT. ISS INDONESIA requires additional employees to develop or fill in empty formations. Subjects in this study are the application of decision support systems used to assist employee selection process in accordance with the criteria set by the management PT. ISS INDONESIA. System design with modified waterfall process model includes the definition of requirements required by the user in order to design the system for process modeling, data modeling, and user interface. In this research, it is expected to produce Decision Support Candidate Selection Software System With ARAS Method that can be used to manage employee candidate data and computerized criteria ranging from weighting, calculation of dominance value, arithmetic preference, calculation of index value and ARAS calculation.

In this work, a survey is made of the analysis of the resource selection process. We approach the process also from the point of view of conventional enterprises but with particular emphasis on the existent models in Agile/Virtual Enterprises in order to identify the main limitations and shortcomings of the process. This analysis was focused in the global process of the resource selection, namely in terms of the pre-selection and selection phases, requisites, mathematical models, tools and other relevant areas in the existent models. It is concluded that the resource pre-selection is an area that is not adequately explored in a systematic way. The value concept is not incorporated in the selection process. As a result, a reasoned analysis is not performed of the decision-making process for creating an Agile/Virtual Enterprise. These conclusions were made to envision a future approach that allows the incorporation of new areas that contribute to the improvement of the resource selection process.

This chapter describes the use of software agents and Web Services to support the formation of Virtual Enterprises. The partners of a Virtual Enterprise are represented as software agents. The AGORA multi-agent architecture is used. The focus of this chapter is on the description of the services provided by each partner and the partner selection process. The concept of Agent Interaction Protocols is used to manage the interactions during the formation of the Virtual Enterprise. An implementation of the ideas and examples from industrial case studies are used for the validation of the approach and discussions. The use of Semantic Web technology and Web Services with multi-agent systems is discussed as the future directions for this work.

Emergency communication refers to the appearance of natural or man-made sudden emergencies, which comprehensively use various communication resources to guarantee the emergency rescue and necessary communication. Emergency communication system requires not only mobile, but also rapid response and wide range. According to these requirements, the paper establishes a process model based on Object-oriented Petri net. The application shows that the model can be used to conveniently describe the dynamic and uncertainty characteristics of emergency communication tasks, which can reduce the complexity of process organization and provide the conditions for fast restructuring and integrating functions of module tasks.
