Agro-ecological system in Hubei province was comprehensively analyzed and evaluated by using emergy analysis method. The result shows that the local resources have been utilized effectively in Hubei, the agricultural modernization is high, however, Hubei’s agricultural ecosystems is unsustainable consumption-based system owing to the higher degree of environmental stress and resource dependence. Suggestions to reinforce the sustainable development of agriculture in Hubei were put forward.

The survey includes a study of destination planning and development at a local level through micro-regionalization. The subject of this work is the study, analysis and definition of opportunities for sustainable tourism development at a local level as a model that can be multiplied to be used in other developing tourist destinations. The objective of the study is the sustainable development of tourism in the municipality of Botevgrad and its positioning as an attractive tourist destination. To achieve the research goal, a set of general and private methods corresponding to the interdisciplinary and heterogeneous nature of the study are used: methods of analysis and synthesis, cameral method, cartographic method, geographic methods of research: spatial analysis of the resource potential, localization of the surveyed sites. An approach of studies and systematization of information on literary sources and planning documents has also been used; collecting, processing, systematizing and interpreting statistical data and documents; critical analysis method and expert assessment; comparative analysis method; scientific analysis and synthesis; field observation. The main conclusions point the opportunities for destination management at a local level through micro-regionalisation as a successful model for sustainable tourism.

The paper describes the role of rural tourism for the sustainable development of rural areas and stresses out the importance of strategic approach in the planning of their development. The author identifies core problems, which eliminate their use and disable individual strategies set by some entrepreneurs in rural tourism. Concretely it is the absence of developing projects and focus on the development of individual villages. Then it is the lack of will to cooperate, local resources are not effectively used and the local community is not adequately involved.

With a growing demand for crop products in China, a great deal of local resources and industrial inputs are consumed including agricultural machineries, chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and energies, which results in many environmental issues such as resource depletion, water pollution, soil erosion and contamination, and CO2 emissions. Thus, this study evaluated the trend of sustainability of China’s crop production from 1997 to 2016 in terms of emergy and further explored the driving forces using decomposition analysis methods. The results showed that the total emergy used (U) increased by 50% from 7.82 × 1023 in 1997 to 1.17 × 1024 solar emergy Joule (sej) in 2016. Meanwhile, the values of the emergy sustainability index (ESI) were all smaller than one with a declining trend year by year, indicating that China’s crop production system is undergoing an unsustainable development pattern. From the results of the ESI decomposition, the renewable resource factor (R/GDP) and land use factor (L/A) are two key factors impeding the sustainable development of the crop production system. Therefore, the increased capacity of renewable resources and enough labor forces engaged in crop production will be the key strategies for its sustainable development.

Abstract In recent years sport has become a phenomenon of large dimensions and it is an important resource for the development of a local context (Hautbois, Desbordes, 2008; Maier, Weber, 1993; Weed, Bull, 2004). The combination of physical and sports practices within a natural environment (outdoor) broadens the range of activities that people can choose in their free time (nordic walking, hiking, rediscovering rural districts, walking and cycling in urban spaces, etc.). The demand of this kind of activities is continuously evolving. Sports tourism is a new opportunity for the development of tourism offer. Cities, regions, rural areas, etc. through the exploitation of local resources, vocations and specializations can promote a destination in terms of reputation and tourism flows. This research aims to stimulate a reflection on the role that the synergies between tourism and sport, combined with the use of resources, services and local products (cultural and artistic paths, local artefacts, wine tastings, etc.) may have for the development of a specific territory and its socio-economic environment.

From the theory of urban ecosystem, using emergy analysis method founded by Odum, this paper analyzed the emergy flow of Hefei city systematically, and evaluated the status of the natural environment of its ecosystem and its socioeconomic sustainable development through a series of emergy indices. The results showed that the environment loading ratio of Hefei urban ecosystem was 19.71, emergy sustainable indices(ESI) and emergy index for sustainable development (EISD) was 0.0425, 0.0507, respectively in 2010, slightly higher than the neighboring capital cities. This indicated that Hefei had strong sustainable development ability. In 2010, the input emergy of eco-economic system of Hefei city was 2.35×1022sej, the output emergy was 1.95×1022sej, the surplus emergy was 0.40×1022sej, which indicated that the emergy of Hefei city continued to increase and accumulate, and this was the real reason of the rapid development of Hefei city in recent years.

This paper discussed at exploring an appropriate model in managing environment that may accommodate and optimize local resources, such as human resources and natural resources. This is important to create and maintain the sustainable development for all. In manifesting the sustainable development, this work found a new paradigm in sustainable development which is based on the local resources. In detail, it elaborates and discusses some core components of the model of sustainable development that includes: (i) ontology; (ii) epistemology; and (iii) axiology of sustainable development. The ontological element of sustainable development could be found in Pancasila, the principle five, that is social justice for all Indonesian constitution 1945, article 28 h that guarantee the healthy environment for all. While the epistemological level, this work will coherency all diametrical policies and norms or regulations that related to the situation, such as environmental law, investment law, mining law, agrarian law, forestry law, marine and coastal law, and so forth. All those elements should be embodied in the appropriate mechanism and operational model, that cover the implementation, control, evaluation, development and recovery stages. In the end, this work offers an appropriate model for creating local resources based-environmental management that guaranteeing the sustainable development for all.

The article is aimed at defining, substantiating and justifying the economic feasibility of forming a new circular economy model as an innovative platform for sustainable development. As a result of the research, it is determined that the strategic priority of sustainable development of the State is the formation of a qualitatively new model of development of the national economy on the basis of a symbiosis of the circular and environmental economies, facilitating the use of local resources to meet the needs of the economy and ensuring the formation of the closed material and resource cycles. It is proved that the circular economy is a new approach based on the possibility of reproduction, reuse of labor results after their modernization. The principles of closed-loop economy are distinguished as follows: production of durable and reliable products; possibility of repair; reuse; modernization and upgrades; recycling; compatible use; virtualization of production. The general features and differences of the theory of circular economy are singled out. It is emphasized that when forming a new model of circular economy, it is necessary to take into account and link the development of environmental innovations and, accordingly, the ecological economy. However, determining the impact of the environmental economy on the new model of circular economy requires further thorough research.

The production and marketing of agricultural products has always been bothering the government for a long time, and “” building an exclusive agricultural e-commerce platform in Hubei may be a good way to solve the unsalable problem of agricultural products and promote the sustainable development of “agriculture, rural and farmers”. Thus, this paper discusses the necessity and advantages of building an exclusive agricultural e-commerce platform in Hubei Province, we found that the agriculture-related e-commerce has problems in the aspects of logistics, brand establishment and customer loyalty. Accordingly, this paper puts forward some countermeasures for the functional settings and operation strategies of the exclusive agricultural e-commerce platform in Hubei Province.
