It is necessary to consider the energy efficiency of nodes and load balance in wireless sensor networks. This paper combines with the network of the actual heterogeneous nodes, the improved algorithm of LEACH is proposed, which is called LEACH-HA. The optimal number of cluster heads is derived with improved in the network which increases energy of nodes become cluster probability. A hybrid communication mode that cluster heads alternate between single hop and multi-hop mode is proposed. After analysis LEACH-HA improves the energy efficiency among nodes and expands the coverage of network.

In wireless sensor networks, LEACH is often used as an energy saving protocol and extends the network life. However, there are many parameters that affect the performance of the LEACH protocol, one of which is the number of cluster heads. This paper proposes a simple and efficient solution to determine the optimal number of cluster heads in the LEACH protocol. For the proposed solution, the system can achieve the optimal performance between the longest lifetime in the constraint as the largest amount of data transmitted in the network.

Energy efficiency is the kernel issue in the designing of wireless sensor network(WSN) MAC protocols. Energy efficiency is a major consideration while designing wireless sensor network nodes. Most sensor network applications require energy autonomy for the complete lifetime of the node, which may span up to several years. These energy constraints require that the system be built such that Wireless sensor networks use battery-operated computing and sensing devices. A network of these devices will collaborate for a common application such as environmental monitoring. Each component consumes minimum possible power, ensure the average successful transmission rate, decrease the data packet average waiting time, and reduce the average energy consumption. Influencing by the design principles of traditional layered protocol stack, current MAC protocol designing for wireless sensor networks (WSN) seldom takes load balance into consideration, which greatly restricts WSN lifetime. As a novel Forwarding Election-based MAC protocol, is presented to prolong WSN lifetime by means of improving energy efficiency and enhancing load balance.

Energy efficiency is one of the important hot issues in wireless sensor networks. In this paper, a multi-hop scheme based on a cooperative multi-input multi-outputspatial modulation technique is proposed in order to improve energy efficiency in WSN. In this scheme, the sensor nodes are grouped into clusters in order to achieve a multi-input multi-output system; and a simple forwarding transmission scenario is considered so that the intermediate clusters only forward packets originated from the source cluster down to the sink cluster. In order to verify the performance of the proposed system, the bit energy consumption formula is derived and the optimal number of hopsis determined. By qualitative experiments, the obtained results show that the proposed scheme can deliver the data over multiple hops consuming optimal energy consumption per bit.

In our current generation, wireless sensor network is much in use and has become quintessential. With wide improvement of technology and the various ranges developed in communication and in other aspects, this document mainly focuses on the LEACH algorithm (Adaptive Low Energy Hierarchy) and the second most important methodology used is the SEP (stable election protocol). We have discovered improvements in energy efficiency by comparing our results with these two algorithms and the sensor mortality rate is reduced to a greater extent. This research proposes an improved computation algorithm method for the calculation of LEACH clustering, by considering the importance of the cluster heads and the sensor nodes present, T (n) is reorganisedrecommendinga procedure that focuses on reducing the energy consumption. The combined rate of information is found by allowing cluster heads to gather information before it is sent to base station. This improved computation algorithmwill be able to increase vital utilisation of networks and increase sensor life.

In order to improve the lifetime and throughput of wireless sensor networks under the limited power, an improved clustering algorithm is proposed in this paper on the basis of LEACH protocol. The energy factor is considered in this algorithm. The residual energy of all sensor nodes is referred to select cluster-heads of wireless sensor networks. The new clustering algorithm effectively improves the energy efficiency, throughput and lifetime of wireless sensor networks. The results are proved by simulations.

Due to limited energy, computing ability, and memory of Wireless sensor Networks(WSN), routing issue is one of the key factors for WSN. LEACH is the first clustering routing protocol, which can efficiently reduce the energy consumption and prolong the lifetime of WSN, but it also has some disadvantage. This paper proposed an improvement based LEACH, called LEACH-T. According to different number of clusters, LEACH-T uses variable time slot for different clusters in steady-state phase, and single-hop or multi-hop to transmit data between cluster heads and Base Station. Also it considered residual energy of sensor nodes and the optimal number of clusters during selection of the cluster heads. The simulation results show that LEACH-T has better performance than LEACH for prolonging the lifetime and reducing the energy consumption.

In order to prolong the lifetime of wireless sensor networks, improvement of cluster-head selection mechanism based on LEACH protocol is proposed. To make the energy distribution more uniform, we consider the relationship of the density of nodes, residual energy of nodes and distance between nodes and Sink node. It eliminates the defect of energy consumption imbalance in the network caused by random position of cluster-heads and the problem of premature death of nodes caused by low energy nodes becoming cluster-heads. Simulation results show that compared with LEACH algorithm, the improved algorithm extend the network lifetime.
