Eris Society in the village of utilizing the waters of Lake Tondano as a place to fish cultivation in floating net system and step on floating net karamba system. Karamba unit developments and floating net cages in the area of cultivation step on the less controllable negative impact on the aquatic environment such as pollution of water quality. For this study aims to measure the quality parameters including pH, temperature, brightness and analyzed water quality parameters including turbidity, dissolved oxygen, ammonia and phosphate so that the water quality conditions in the Village of Lake Tondano District Eris Eris known. From the results obtained by the temperature at a depth of 0.5 meters from surface water ranged from 25.3 to 28.3 º C, at a depth of 0.5 meters from the lake bottom ranged from 24.7 to 28 º C, the brightness ranges from 182-325 cm, turbidity ranges from 7 - 16 NTU, the pH at a depth of 0.5 meters from the water surface ranged from 6.89 to 8.09, at a depth of 0.5 meters from the lake bottom ranged from 6.93 to 8.03, dissolved oxygen ranged from 7.10 to 7.52 mg / L, ammonia ranging from 0.03 to 0.14 mg / L, and phosphate ranged from 0.02 to 0.12 mg / L. Temperature, brightness, pH, dissolved oxygen and phosphate at the sites are still in good condition that is still in accordance with the water quality standard. For turbidity and ammonia has passed the threshold water quality standard. This is presumably due to domestic wastewater effluent from surrounding communities, causing decomposition which affects the water quality conditions. However the waters in the village of Eris can be used for aquaculture. This is evidenced by the persistent cultivation of fish in the Village District Eris Eris.

Abstract Land use influences and trends in water quality parameters were determined for the Chao Phraya River, Thailand. Dissolved oxygen (DO), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), and nitrate-nitrogen (NO3-N) showed significant trends (R2 ≥ 0.5) across the year, while total phosphorus (TP) and faecal coliform bacteria (FCB) showed significant trends only in the wet season. DO increased, but BOD, NO3-N, and TP decreased, from the lower section (river kilometres (rkm) 7–58 from the river mouth) through the middle section (rkm 58–143) to the upper section (rkm 143–379) of the river. Lead and mercury showed weak/no trends (R2 < 0.5). Based on the river section, major land use groups were a combination of urban and built-up areas (43%) and aquaculture (21%) in the lower river basin, paddy fields (56%) and urban and built-up areas (21%) in the middle river basin, and paddy fields (44%) and other agricultural areas (34%) in the upper river basin. Most water quality and land use attributes had significantly positive or negative correlations (at P ≤ 0.05) among each other. The river was in crisis because of high FCB concentrations. Serious measures are suggested to manage FCB and relevant human activities in the river basin.

Abstract The research to determine the carrying capacity of pollutant loads in the middle to downstream Cisadane River segment started from Jl. Teuku Umar, Tangerang and ends at Muara Tanjung Burung, Tangerang Regency with a research time starting from March – June 2021. Increased land-use change due to human and industrial activities so that population growth and limited residential land make watersheds a target for land conversion. The purpose of this study is to identify sources of pollutants that have the potential to contaminate the Cisadane River in the middle to downstream segments, analyze water quality and pollutant load capacity, the Cisadane River in the middle to downstream segments along 34 km. The method used for identification of pollutant sources is carried out by conducting field surveys, water quality analysis is carried out by SNI and compared with quality standards according to Peraturan Pemerintah No. 22 of 2021, as well as analysis of the Pollutant Load Capacity (PLC) BOD and DO using the QUAL2Kw model. The results of identifying potential pollutant sources in the middle to a downstream segment of the Cisadane River are dominated by settlements, agriculture, industry, and other domestic activities, namely restaurants and stalls. The results of water quality analysis for BOD parameters ranged from 2.51 mg/L - 5.1 mg/L, and DO range from 5.4 mg/L – 7,2 mg/L. BOD parameters from all points 1-2 meet the quality standard class 2 (3 mg/L) & points 4-6 do not meet the quality standard. The DO parameter is still in good condition because the more significant the DO value, the waters are in good condition. The high levels of BOD in the Cisadane River are influenced by domestic waste that enters the river, and the land is dominated by built-up spaces as settlements, schools, hotels and malls. Land use around the river is very influential on the load of pollutants that enter the river. The lowest DTBP of the Cisadane River for BOD is 22497,9 kg/day, and the highest is 33201,6 kg/day. The decrease in the concentration of BOD load must be lowered in the Cisadane River by 29% - 42%.

Changes in the land use and land cover in areas adjacent to water reservoirs directly affect the quality of this water. This research presents a study on the water quality in the basin of one of the most important public water supply reservoirs in the city of Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais. The main objective of this study was to analyze the behavior of limnological parameters and the correlation with land use and land cover in the contribution basin of the Doutor João Penido reservoir (CBJPR). The methodology was based on the analysis of water quality parameters, related to water samples collected from 2012 to 2015. Six sampling points were chosen from different locations: spring, medium course, main tributaries of the reservoir and the reservoir catchment. The parameters analyzed were turbidity, total solids (TS), oxygen consumed (OC), dissolved oxygen (DO), electrical conductivity, total nitrogen (TN), total phosphorus (TP), E. Coli, temperature, pH and total dissolved solids (TDS). The Kendall’s tau test was used to analyze the correlations between the parameters of water quality, land use and land cover in the CBJPR. In general, measured parameters showed better results in spring and in reservoir catchment, showing a worse quality of the water along the tributaries and the dilution power of the reservoir. The correlations pointed to the need for protection and preservation of forests in strategic locations to ensure good water quality.

Abstract Increasing population growth is one of the impacts of the growth of a city or district in an area. This also happened in the Cimahi watershed area. As the population grows, so does the need for land which increases the land-use change in the Cimahi watershed. Land-use changes will affect the surrounding environment and one of them is the river, especially river water quality. As a watershed area, there is one main river that is the source of life as well as the Cimahi watershed, whose main river is the Cimahi River. The purpose of this study was calculated the relationship between land-use change in the Cimahi watershed and the water quality parameters of the Cimahi River. The correlation between the two was calculated using Pearson correlation. Water quality parameters can be seen based on BOD and DO values. BOD and DO values are the opposite because good water quality has high DO values and low BOD values. The correlation between land-use change and BOD was 0.328 is in the area of settlements area. In contrast, to DO values, an increase in settlements/industrial zones will further reduce DO values so that both have a negative correlation, which is indicated by a value of -0,535. The correlation between settlements with pH and temperature values is 0.664 and 0.812. While the correlation between settlements with TSS and TDS values are 0.333 and 0.529, respectively. In this study, it can be seen that there is a relationship between the decline in water quality and changes in land use.

The present study aims to identify the ground water contamination problem in villages located in the close vicinity of Gajraula industrial area at Gajraula (U.P.), India. Ground water samples were collected from different villages at the depth of 40 and 120 feet from earth’s surface layer. Analytical techniques as described in the standard methods for examination of water and waste water were adopted for physico-chemical analysis of ground water samples and the results compared with the standards given by WHO and BIS guidelines for drinking water. Water quality index was calculated for quality standard of ground water for drinking purposes. The present investigation revealed that the water quality is moderately degraded due to high range of seven water quality parameters such as Temperature (18.33-32.36 0C), conductivity (925.45-1399.59 μmho/cm), TDS (610.80-923.73 mgL-1), Alkalinity (260.17- 339.83 mgL-1), Ca-Hardness (129.68-181.17 mgL-1), Mg-Hardness (94.07-113.50 mgLÉ1) and COD (13.99-25.62 mgL-1). The water quality index (WQI) also indicated the all the water quality rating comes under the standard marginal values (45-64) i.e. water quality is frequently threatened or impaired and conditions usually depart from natural or desirable levels.
