This study deals with the restoration of columns of the VEF Culture Palace. A complete restoration of the building was performed in 2016–2017 [1]. The methodology of physico-chemical investigation of the stone materials of two facade columns includes visual observation, granulometric analyses, classic wet chemical analyses, XRD and determination of soluble salts’ content. The data obtained indicate, that for rendering of columns dolomitic and calcitic lime mortars were used. An efflorescence of sulphates on the bricks’ surface is observed.

Cobalt has been found to be an acceptable internal standard for the spectrographic determination of boron in shale. Its use leads to acceptable agreement between spectrochemical and wet-chemical analyses, and has given an average coefficient of varation of ±3.57% for 57 clay samples.

This paper deals with the stone material investigation of St. John’s Church, located in Cesis, the city in central region of Latvia. Following aspects were considered – chemical, physical and granulometrical characterization of historic mortars, as well as the level of soluble salts in the masonry. The chemical and physical properties of the historical mortars were characterized by visual observation, granulometric analysis, classical wet chemical analysis, XRD, SEM and hydro tests. The results showed that the historic mortars are based on two types of weakly hydraulic lime – calcitic and dolomitic – with brick dust additive. The main crystallized salt in the object was KNO3. The aim of the investigation was to provide compatibility of restoration materials and sustainability of the ancient building.

O mel é um alimento muito apreciado e de excelente valor nutritivo, constituído por uma mistura complexa de carboidratos, enzimas, aminoácidos, ácidos, minerais, substâncias aromáticas, vitaminas, pigmentos, cera e grãos de pólen. O produto pode apresentar alterações devido a formas inadequadas de armazenamento e conservação. Tais procedimentos ocasionam sua deterioração, comprometendo seriamente o alimento. Quando os méis de abelha são submetidos a condições de temperatura e luminosidade intensa podem sofrer algumas modificações nas suas propriedades físico-químicas. A proposta deste trabalho é verificar a presença e o grau de deterioração dos méis de abelha comercializados em São Luís do Maranhão. Foram realizadas as análises físico-químicas: umidade, acidez, atividade diastásica e hidroximetilfurfural em 30 amostras de méis de Apis mellifera e os valores foram analisados segundo a Instrução Normativa n.º 11 de 2000 do MAPA. As amostras em estudo apresentaram valores fora dos padrões estabelecidos pela legislação, em relação à determinação de atividade diastásica e teor de hidroximetilfurfural, parâmetros físico-químicos que fornecem indicações sobre o grau de conservação e superaquecimento, o que indica que as amostras apresentaram deterioração.Palavras-chave: Mel. The product may undergo changes due to inadequate forms of storage and conservation. These procedures may cause their deterioration, severely compromising the food. When the honeys of bee are submitted to conditions of temperature and intense light may undergo some modifications in their physicochemical properties. The purpose of this study is to verify the presence and degree of deterioration of honeys of bee commercialized in São Luis do Maranhão. Physico-chemical analyses were done: moisture, acidity, diastase activity and hydroxymethylfurfural in 30 honey samples of Apis mellifera and the values were analyzed according to Normative Instruction No. 11 of 2000 of MAPA. The samples studied showed values outside the standards established by legislation in relation to the determination of diastase activity and hydroxymethylfurfural content, physico-chemical parameters that provide indications about the degree of conservation and overheating, which indicates that the samples showed deterioration.Keywords: Honey. El objetivo de el presente estudio es verificar la presencia y el grado de deterioro de la miel de abeja negocian en São Luís do Maranhão. Los análisis se realizaron con propiedades físicoquímicas: La humedad, acidez, actividad de la diastasa y el hidroximetilfurfural en 30 muestras de miel de Apis mellifera y los valores fueron analizados de acuerdo a la Instrucción Normativa N º 11 de 2000 MAPA. Las muestras estudiadas mostraron valores fuera de los estándares establecidos por la legislación en relación con la determinación de la actividad de la diastasa y el contenido de hidroximetilfurfural, parámetros físico-químicos que proporcionan información sobre el grado de conservación y el sobrecalentamiento, lo que indica que las muestras mostraron deterioro.Palabras clave: Mel. Abstract The autochthonous Feteasca neagra variety, cultivated in four wine regions of Romania, was comparatively assessed in order to characterize its quality potential in different terroirs. Among the variables of the terroir, the clone of Feteasca neagra is also a factor. Thus, in Murfatlar region we find either clone 9Mf or the massal selection, in Stefanesti clone 4VI is planted, while in Pietroasa and Bucharest clone 10Pt is cultivated. To assess the behaviour of the variety in different wine regions physico-chemical analyses of the grapes were performed, along with the determination of the uvological and phenolic maturity parameters. The results show a high variability, induced both by the cultivation conditions and the selected clone. Although the harvesting was done at approximately the same date, differences in all assessed parameters are found to be directly dependent on the clone, even in the case of the cultivation in the same region (Murfatlar), while the same clone (10Pt) shows a different behaviour when cultivated in separated regions (Pietroasa or Bucharest). The most important characteristics of the grapes are presented and discussed, with a special emphasis on the parameters related to phenolic maturity, which are the most important for the colour and aging potential of the wines. The other compositional parameters are discussed as well, as they also influence the wine’s balance. The favourability of the different regions for the cultivation of Feteasca neagra is assessed, taking into account the wine style which can be obtained from the raw materials, such as wines destined for aging or wines suitable for consumption while young

Статья посвящена построению прогноза эффективности реконструктивных вмешательств на магистральных нервах предплечья в зависимости от протяженности дефекта нервной ткани и особенностей последующего периода реабилитации пациентов. Данная тематика является весьма актуальной, так как с каждым годом во всем мире наблюдается определенный рост случаев травм различного генеза магистральных нервных стволов, которые затем нередко приводят к временной нетрудоспособности и даже инвалидности пациентов. Реконструктивная микрохирургия многие десятилетия пытается решить целый ряд проблем аутотрансплантации нервных стволов и повысить ее общую эффективность. Но из-за определенных проблем связанных с финансированием, некоторые вопросы трансплантологии и реабилитации остаются нерешенными и в настоящий момент. Все это придает представленной работе важное значение не только медицинского, но и социально - экономического плана. Целью работы стала попытка построения прогноза восстановительных операций на нервной ткани, с учетом объема пораженных структур и периода реабилитации. Объектами исследования стало 180 больных, которым по той или иной причине, осуществлялась реконструктивная операция на одном из магистральных нервов предплечья. Все пациенты были разделены на 3 группы по 60 человек, в зависимости от протяженности дефекта магистрального нерва: до 4 см, от 4 до 8 см и от 8 до 12 см. Последующее разделение внутри каждой группы на подгруппы производилось в зависимости от определенного поврежденного нерва (лучевой, локтевой, срединный). В работе изучалось течение раннего послеоперационного воспалительного процесса, с определением бактериальной микрофлоры в ране. Изучались и отдаленные последствия оперативного вмешательства. Своеобразной новизной для данной тематики в целом, стало выявление последующего установления инвалидности пациентов. Кроме того, важные данные были получены и по срокам реабилитации и частичного или полного восстановления утраченных функций по срокам в зависимости от размеров восстанавливаемого дефекта и от наличия или отсутствия необходимой реабилитации. Полученные в работе данные могут представлять интерес не только для врачей хирургов и травматологов, но и для организаторов здравоохранения, позволяя производить прогнозы по выздоровлению пациентов в каждой определенной клинической ситуации The article is devoted to the construction of a forecast of the effectiveness of reconstructive interventions on the main nerves of the forearm, depending on the length of the defect in the nervous tissue and the characteristics of the subsequent period of rehabilitation of patients. This topic is very relevant, since every year all over the world there is a certain increase in cases of injuries of various origins of the main nerve trunks, which then often lead to temporary disability and even disability of patients. For many decades, reconstructive microsurgery has been trying to solve a number of problems of autotransplantation of nerve trunks and improve its overall efficiency. But due to certain problems associated with funding, some issues of transplantation and rehabilitation remain unresolved at the moment. All this gives the presented work important not only medical, but also socio - economic importance. The aim of this work was to attempt to predict restorative operations on the nervous tissue, taking into account the volume of the affected structures and the period of rehabilitation. The objects of the study were 180 patients who, for one reason or another, underwent a reconstructive operation on one of the main nerves of the forearm. All patients were divided into 3 groups of 60 people, depending on the length of the main nerve defect: up to 4 cm, from 4 to 8 cm, and from 8 to 12 cm. Subsequent division within each group into subgroups was performed depending on the specific damaged nerve ( radial, ulnar, median). The work studied the course of the early postoperative inflammatory process, with the determination of bacterial microflora in the wound. The long-term consequences of surgery were also studied. A peculiar novelty for this topic as a whole was the identification of the subsequent establishment of disability in patients. In addition, important data were obtained on the timing of rehabilitation and partial or complete restoration of lost functions in terms of timing, depending on the size of the restored defect and on the presence or absence of the necessary rehabilitation. The data obtained in this work may be of interest not only for surgeons and traumatologists, but also for healthcare organizers, allowing them to make predictions about the recovery of patients in each specific clinical situation

Background: The therapeutic ability and application of antifungal peptide (APs) are limited by their physico-chemical and biological properties, the nano-liposomal encapsulation would improve the in vivo circulation and stability. </P><P> Objective: To develop a long-circulating liposomal delivery systems encapsulated APs-CGA-N12 with PEGylated lipids and cholesterol, and investigated through in vivo pharmacokinetics. Methods: The liposomes were prepared and characterized, a rapid and simple liquid chromatographytandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) assay was developed for the determination of antifungal peptide in vivo, the pharmacokinetic characteristics of APs liposomes were evaluated in rats. Results: Liposomes had a large, unilamellar structure, particle size and Zeta potential ranged from 160 to 185 nm and -0.55 to 1.1 mV, respectively. The results indicated that the plasma concentration of peptides in reference solutions rapidly declined after intravenous administration, whereas the liposomeencapsulated ones showed slower elimination. The AUC(0-∞) was increased by 3.0-fold in liposomes in comparison with standard solution (20 mg·kg-1), the half-life (T1/2) was 1.6- and 1.5-fold higher compared to the reference groups of 20 and 40 mg·kg-1, respectively. Conclusion: Therefore, it could be concluded that liposomal encapsulation effectively improved the bioavailability and pharmacokinetic property of antifungal peptides.

This paper shows the results obtained in field analysis performed at the Tamis River, starting from the settlement Jasa Tomic - border between Serbia and Romania to Pancevo - confluence of Tamis into the Danube. The Tamis is a 359 km long river rising in the southern Carpathian Mountains. It flows through the Banat region and flows into the Danube near Pancevo. During the years the water quality of the river has severely deteriorated and badly affected the environment and the river ecosystem. In situ measurements enabled determination of physico-chemical parameters of water quality of the Tamis River on every 400 m of the watercourse, such as: water temperature, pH value, electrical conductivity, contents of dissolved oxygen and oxygen saturation. The main reason of higher pollution of Tamis is seen in connection to DTD hydro system. Sampling was performed at 7 points with regard to color, turbidity, total hardness, alkalinity, concentration of ammonium nitrogen, nitrite nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen, iron, chlorides and sulphates in samples. The aim of the present work was to evaluate water quality in the Tamis River taking into account significant pollution, which originates from settlements, industry and agriculture, and to suggest appropriate preventive measures to further pollution decreasing of the river's water.

To study the influence of fining temperature on glass qualities, different fining temperatures from 1400°C to 1500°C were used to prepare a series soda-lime-silica glass with identical chemical compositions. Infrared spectroscopy was used to determine the water content of glass, general analyzer of melt physical properties was used to study the viscosity and surface tension change of glass melt, microscope was carried out find glass bubbles, wet chemical analyses were used to determine the Fe2+/(Fe2++Fe3+) ratio. The results show that, generally, with the increase of fining temperature, the glass melt’s water content, bubbles number and Fe2+/(Fe2++Fe3+) ratio increase, viscosity decreases. Particularly, when the fining temperature is 1450°C, the glass has lowest water content, bubbles number, Fe2+/(Fe2++Fe3+) ratio, and viscosity, and its surface tension is largest. Among all tested fining temperature, 1450°C is the optimal fining temperature.
