Food understanding from digital media has become a challenge with important applications in many different domains. On the other hand, food is a crucial part of human life since the health is strictly affected by diet. The impact of food in people life led Computer Vision specialists to develop new methods for automatic food intake monitoring and food logging. In this review paper we provide an overview about automatic food intake monitoring, by focusing on technical aspects and Computer Vision works which solve the main involved tasks (i.e., classification, recognitions, segmentation, etc.). Specifically, we conducted a systematic review on main scientific databases, including interdisciplinary databases (i.e., Scopus) as well as academic databases in the field of computer science that focus on topics related to image understanding (i.e., recognition, analysis, retrieval). The search queries were based on the following key words: “food recognition”, “food classification”, “food portion estimation”, “food logging” and “food image dataset”. A total of 434 papers have been retrieved. We excluded 329 works in the first screening and performed a new check for the remaining 105 papers. Then, we manually added 5 recent relevant studies. Our final selection includes 23 papers that present systems for automatic food intake monitoring, as well as 46 papers which addressed Computer Vision tasks related food images analysis which we consider essential for a comprehensive overview about this research topic. A discussion that highlights the limitations of this research field is reported in conclusions.

Learning is a critical research field for autonomous computer vision systems. It can bring solutions to the knowledge acquisition bottleneck of image understanding systems. Recent developments of machine learning for computer vision are reported in this paper. We describe several different approaches for learning at different levels of the image understanding process, including learning 2-D shape models, learning strategic knowledge for optimizing model matching, learning for adaptive target recognition systems, knowledge acquisition of constraint rules for labelling and automatic parameter optimization for vision systems. Each approach will be commented on and its strong and weak points will be underlined. In conclusion we will suggest what could be the “ideal” learning system for vision.

This chapter introduces a cutting-edge research field of computer vision and image understanding – the spatial-temporal behavior understanding. The main concepts, the focus of research, the typical technology, the fast development, etc. of this new field in recent years are overviewed. An important task in computer vision and image understanding is to analyze the scene through image operation on the image of scene in order to guide the action. To do this, one needs to locate the objects in the scene, and to determine how they change its position, attitude, speed and relationships in the space over time. In short, it is to grasp the action in time and space, to determine the purpose of the operation, and thus to understand the semantics of the information they passed. This is refereed as the understanding of spatial-temporal behaviors.

This article provides a comprehensive overview of the media and the progress made since our country's independence. There are problems of modern media and their research. It is also believed that the role of digital media in the process of modern human life and social development is also huge. It is noted that journalism as a science has no independent academic status for a long time, that is, in a certain part of the scientific field it acts as a part of Philology and history, and University journalism works exclusively in the field of Philology. The article analyzes the theory of journalism in Uzbekistan and talks about how global media are undergoing transformation. There are new terms in academic journalism: Pragmatism, agenda Definition (Agenda-Setting), Search for interest and satisfaction of needs (Uses and Gratifications), Social learning, Theory of mediation (Mediation Models) and so on. It is noted that technical innovations have led to the development of the media industry and it has changed at different times: from the printing press to the Telegraph, cable networks, television and the invention of the "initial world". We will consider the emergence of new media — the Internet, digital technologies — and their impact on the theory and practice of the industry. The main feature of the new media is that they will have unlimited geographical space when connected to the network. Today it is said that new media are digital content providers, namely: Internet, hybrid digital communications, telecommunications, mobile networks and media organizations. The article emphasizes the need for in-depth training in more than one foreign language in the field of journalistic education, while future professionals should be aware of the changes taking place in the world of media and new media, encouraging young scientists to learn new theories of media.

The environment is a global problem, in fact it is a humanitarian problem that is so complex that it is handled collectively. Population pollution is getting denser and more crowded coupled with limited natural resources and even the influence of digital media, modern technology which is often used for profit and even exploiting natural resources for personal or group gain, thus reducing the quality of nature. Islam has strong teachings about ethics towards the environment, very devastating events have often been experienced lately, namely floods, illegal logging, forest burning and the most existing ones until now are the Covid-19 epidemic, of course we realize that the impact of These incidents are very disturbing to the sustainability of the human environment. "Besides that, a number of other forms of environmental damage must be a very valuable lesson." Humans have an important influence in the sustainability of the ecosystem and human habitat itself, the actions taken or policies. about the relationship with the environment is clearly very influential for a good environment and human life itself. ”Normatively, religion calls on all humans to preserve and have ethics towards the environment, the relationship between the two is harmonious.

In this article we show the change in paradigm occurred in color constancy algorithms: from a pre-processing step in image understanding, to the exploitation of image understanding and computer vision results and techniques. Since color constancy is an ill-posed problem, we give an overview of the assumptions on which classical color constancy algorithms are based in order to solve it. Then, we chronologically review the color constancy algorithms that exploit results and techniques borrowed from the image understanding research field in order to exploit assumptions that could be met in a larger number of images.

AbstractBackgroundZika virus (ZIKV) is a mosquito-borne disease discovered in 1947, which did not cause public concern for the next 68 years. However, when ZIKV emerged in Brazil 2015 the attention increased rapidly. The announcement by Brazilian authorities, that ZIKV infection was associated with severe congenital disease e.g. microcephaly, surged public interest. Because of the accumulation of evidence that showed the magnitude of the ZIKV outbreak in the Americas, the World Health Organization declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern February 1, 2016.ResultsDuring 2015-2017, we witnessed one of the most active and cooperated research responses against an emerging disease. To investigate the impact of ZIKV research during those years we decided to perform a bibliometric analysis of ZIKV research. The search for research articles on ZIKV was performed by bibliometric analysis from the scientific databases PubMed and Scopus. We found that the number of ZIKV related publications increased 38-41 times in 2016-2017 compared to 2015. During the three years there was a temporal shift in ZIKV research trends, from reports of ZIKV case studies and diagnostic methods, to development of ZIKV prevention and treatment. In addition, the number of countries involved in ZIKV research increased from 25 in 2015 to 111 in 2016 and 139 in the following year, showing that ZIKV research became global during three years.ConclusionsThe results from our study highlighted the importance of gathering public interest to global health issues, and how it can act as a powerful catalyzer to trigger the research field. However, despite the progress in ZIKV research, many questions remain to be addressed to accelerate the development of effective ZIKV countermeasures. Nevertheless, as long as we remember the importance of support and collaboration that we have experienced during the multidisciplinary effort against the current ZIKV outbreak, we will have an idea on how to handle the next inevitable and yet unknown infectious disease threat.

Introduction. Physical activity is known to be an important factor influencing health throughout human life. This issue has become crucial for public health due to the aging of the population in both developed and developing countries. Aim. is to present a literature review on the forms of physical activity undertaken by the elderly, as well as on issues related to physical activity and the population aging. Material and methods. The study was prepared on the basis of a review of Polish and foreign literature. The following databases and data sources were used: EBSCO, ScienceDirect and Google Scholar. An additional source of data were the websites of the Central Statistical Office. Strictly defined key phrases were used during the collection of literature. The work has been divided into thematic subsections on the aging of the society, the impact of physical activity on health and the main topic, i.e. forms of physical activity selected by the elderly. Analysis of the literature. The number of elderly people in Polish society has increased by almost 3.7 million over three decades. Therefore, an important topic is prophylaxis aimed at increasing the number of days in good health, largely covering the broadly understood activation of the elderly. The available data indicate that only 12% of elderly people undertake physical activity once a week. The most common form of spending free time actively is walking (as many as 73% of people in this population declare this form of physical activity in one of the presented studies). Conclusion. Organized forms of physical activity are undertaken much less frequently by the analyzed age group mainly due to financial limitations and limited availability of sports infrastructure.

The article examines the impact of digitalization on human life and intellectual experience. The development of computer technology demands an understanding of new aspects of human development and requires a capability to overcome not only external conditions but also ourselves. Entering a new level of development cannot imply a complete rejection of previous dispositions, but should be accompanied by reflection on personal experience and by the quest for new forms of interaction in society and with nature. Communicative and cognitive activity of a person has an ontological basis and relies on processes that actually evolve in nature. Therefore, the creation of new objects is always associated with the properties of natural material and gives rise to new points of support in the development of man. The more audacious his projects, the more important it is to preserve this connection to nature. It is always the human being who turns out to be the initiator who knows how to solve problems. The conformity of complex technical systems to nature is not only a goal but also a value of meaningful construction of development perspectives. The key to the nature orientation of the modern digital world is the human being himself, who keeps all the secrets of the culture of his natural development. Therefore, the proposed by the Russian philosopher V.S. Stepin post-non-classical approach, based on the principle of “human-sizedness,” is an important contribution to contemporary research because it draws attention to the “human – machine” communication, to the relationship between a person and technological systems he created. The article concludes that during digital transformation, a cultural conflict arises: in an effort to solve the problems of the future, a person equips his life with devices that are designed to support him, to expand his functionality, but at the same time, the boundaries of humanity become dissolved and the forms of human activity undergo simplification. Transhumanism engages society in the fight against fears of vulnerability and memory loss and ignores the flexibility and sustainability of natural foundation.
