This article reports on the role of metacognitive skills when solving object-oriented programming problems as part of a case study. The research was constructivist-based within an interpretivist approach to explore how four students constructed their own thinking when solving programming problems. A qualitative methodology was employed. Both concept-driven coding and data-driven coding were applied. Two main issues emerged from the findings. Participating students had fragmented knowledge of the object-oriented approach and shortcomings regarding the implementation thereof, and they experienced problems with metacognitive control during all the steps of program development. Based on the findings the use of metacognitive critical control points (MCCPs) is proposed to be used as a mechanism to facilitate students in their programming efforts and to prevent loss of control during program development.

Reactive transport modeling involves solving several nonlinear coupled phenomena, among them, the flow of fluid phases, the transport of chemical species and energy, and chemical reactions. There are different ways to consider this coupling that might be more or less suitable depending on the nature of the problem to be solved. In this paper we acknowledge the importance of flexibility on reactive transport codes and how object-oriented programming can facilitate this feature. We present PROOST, an object-oriented code that allows solving reactive transport problems considering different coupling approaches. The code main classes and their interactions are presented. PROOST performance is illustrated by the resolution of a multiphase reactive transport problem where geochemistry affects hydrodynamic processes.

The objective of this article is to facilitate mobile teaching and learning by providing an alternative course material deployment method. This article suggests a course material deployment platform for small universities or individual instructors. Different from traditional course material deployment methods, the method discussed deploys course materials by using services provided by Android Market. After comparing the traditional course material deployment and the alternative deployment, the author presents strategies to take advantage of Android Market in delivering course materials to mobile devices. Through a case study, this article illustrates the application of these strategies in deploying a class menu for an object-oriented programming course in the computer science curriculum.

The Directorate General of Agro-Industry is one of the implementing elements of the duties of the Minister of Industry, which has the task of organizing the formulation and implementation of policies. In order to encourage the growth and development of the role of the agro-industry, especially in providing informative information, which is very important in the current era of technology 4.0, publications and information facilities are needed regarding the development of the agro-industry. The design of this study used a descriptive method, using an object-oriented approach, while its development used a prototype model. This study aims to develop a website that is in accordance with several important factors that need to be considered so that website development can touch the quality side of the Ministry of Industry, Directorate General of Agro-industry which is in line with Law Number 14 of 2008 concerning Information Disclosure. This research produces a quality website at the Ministry of Industry, Directorate General of Agro-Industry, and meets the principles of good governance in accordance with Presidential Instruction No. 3 of 2003. So that the transparency and accountability of the information on this website are expected to have an impact on increasing the confidence of both local and foreign investors.

<p>Indonesia has chosen South Korea as a cooperation partner because South Korea is agreed to Indonesia's procurement policy. The research objective was to analyze the stages of procurement of Chang Bogo class submarines and the role of defense diplomacy during the process. This study uses qualitative methodology with its analysis techniques. The study concluded that the procurement of submarines succeeded in terms of the number of submarines, but the percentage of transfer technology provided had not yet reached the minimum percentage of Indonesia’s need and Indonesia must build adequate infrastructure to achieve the independence goals of the defense industry but Indonesia was still experiencing fluctuate economic condition. Therefore, the procurement of defense and security equipment tools <em>(alpalhankam)</em> must adjust to that condition.</p>

The chapter explores the role and importance of Destination Management Organizations in managing the delivery of creative tourist experience. The study is divided in two parts whereby the first part adopts a qualitative methodology of exploration in regard to Destination Management Organizations and Creative Tourist Experiences while the second part is a case study of the tourism organizations of the UAE. The role of creativity in managing the total tourist experience is the core theme of the study. The study finds that co-creation of tourist experiences have a lasting memory value. Creative tourist experience can be achieved in the creative-theatre by a combination of designed aesthetics, choreographed activities and co-created souvenirs as the major elements.

Abstract. Nowadays, some important issues in the BIM field and research are still open, and are not deeply known and really understood yet by all the BIM users and approaches; unfortunately, this critical situation implies, often, incorrect approaches and ineffective applications, especially using BIM for existing historical building, where the object oriented approach has so many limitations. In fact, the current laser scanning technology can detect just a cloud of points that is considered "non-intelligent" according to the BIM method and meaning. The paper presents an important case study: the Cathedral of Piazza dei Miracoli (Miracles Square) in Pisa. The method we propose consists of an innovative procedure combining in a two-way manner the correspondence levels between metrology and ontology of the constructive components. The paper proves that is not important to obtain the best possible level of modeling performance. We need a specific BIM approach, for “a specific building”, according with “a specific project”. We believe that it is precisely in this capacity of matching between metrological and constructive knowledge (mediated by computer graphics technology) that it is possible to identify the response to an important programmatic indication in the BIM field: "how much BIM?". This sentence was explained by Charles Eastman (recognized worldwide as the father of BIM) during his "lectio magistralis" at the Master BIM of the University of Pisa (www.unibim.it). We guess this is the way to be free from any pre-established intervention standards, and so to be adapting to a specific construction for a specific intervention’s level using specific resources.
