This randomized controlled trial aimed to investigate the distinctness after treatment among hot herbal compress, hot compress, and topical diclofenac. The registrants were equally divided into groups and received the different treatments including hot herbal compress, hot compress, and topical diclofenac group, which served as the control group. After treatment courses, Visual Analog Scale and 36-Item Short Form Health survey were, respectively, used to establish the level of pain intensity and quality of life. In addition, cervical range of motion and pressure pain threshold were also examined to identify the motional effects. All treatments showed significantly decreased level of pain intensity and increased cervical range of motion, while the intervention groups exhibited extraordinary capability compared with the topical diclofenac group in pressure pain threshold and quality of life. In summary, hot herbal compress holds promise to be an efficacious treatment parallel to hot compress and topical diclofenac.

Bio-monomer based on original cooking oil was mixed with the hardeners with different percentages of Waste granulate Biopolymer (WB) fillers which is 30, 40, and 50 % equivalent to weight of monomer to produce Biopolymer filled Waste granulate Biopolymer (BWB) by using hot compress moulding. The tensile strength of BWB is 0.33, 0.45 and 0.43 MPa, meanwhile value of Youngs Modulus is 11.00, 8.18 and 5.06 MPa for loading 30, 40 and 50 % respectively. From the Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) micrograph, BWB has two characteristic and classified as a brittle and ductile fracture of granular (shiny) texture or cleavage character with little yielding before the sample breaks. Furthermore brittle fracture is characteristic by rapid crack propagation and then ductile fracture with stress whitening zone, appears fibrous appearance is dull and it have very rough surface. This fracture has glassy smooth surface, flat, bright, shiny and minimum deformation.

Abstract This project aimed to study the reinforcement effect of fungal chitin at different loading on chitin/PLA composite. The chitin nanofibers were extracted from three mushroom species (oyster mushroom Pleurotus ostreatus, shiitake mushroom Lentinula edodes, enoki mushroom Flammulina velutipes) and used as a reinforcement element in PLA. The chitin/PLA composite was fabricated using a solvent-casting method followed by the hot-compress molding method. In the solvent-casting method, the chitin nanofibers were dispersed in PLA/chloroform mixture and the mixture was left for solvent evaporation. The solvent-free chitin/PLA thin film was then filled in dog bone mold before proceeded with hot-compress molding at 190°C and 70 bar. The samples with different chitin loading were tested with tensile test to study the mechanical performance of nanocomposite. The chitin/PLA composite from oyster mushroom shows the optimum result (σ= 43 MPa, E= 12 MPa) at 5% chitin loading. The increment of the chitin loading leads to a decrease in both strength and strain. However, for the samples from enoki and shitake mushrooms, the optimum chitin loading is 10% with 55 MPa and 56 MPa tensile strength, respectively. This study suggests the potential of fungal chitin as reinforcement in PLA.

Abstract: Painful menstruation or dysmenorrhea in addition to a problem most also be a reason for the decreased activity of women during menstruation , for example, no school . Handling this problem by means of nonpharmacologic need to be developed , for example with a hot compress . The purpose of the study to determine the effect of a hot compress to decrease the degree of menstrual pain in high school and vocational Yadika Kopandakan II . This type of research is experimental design One group pre and post test . Samples were obtained based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria were 30 . The data obtained through observation sheet Bourbonais a pain scale . Data were analyzed using SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution Program ) and the Wilcoxon test . The p-value indicates that there is a significant association between hot compress with a decrease in the degree of menstrual pain ( p = 0.00 ) . Based on these results it can be concluded that a hot compress effect on the degree of reduction in menstrual pain in high school and vocational Yadika Kopandakan II . Keywords : Compress Heat , menstrual pain.

In this work, palm fiber reinforced polylactic acid composites were fabricated by hot-compress. The palm fibers were treated by γ-aminopropyl trimethoxysilane (APS) and coated with polylactic acid (PLA) in varied percentage (5%, 10% and 15%). The treatment reaction was analyzed by FTIR and the effect of fiber treatment on the flexural and dynamic mechanical properties of oil palm empty fruit bunch/polylactic acid (OPEFB/PL) composites were examined. The flexural properties of composites were increased with increasing of fiber coating and improved by introduction of APS. It was also observed that the APS treated fibers had improved the dynamic mechanical properties of the composites respectively.
