The hydraulic analogy was employed in a rotating water table for simulating the compressible two dimensional flow in a low pressure turbine stage. Both steady and unsteady forces were measured directly on a rotating blade in a blade row rotating concentrically with a row of stator vanes. With proper modeling of the simulation, it is shown that the rotating water table can yield results that agree favorably with the analytical predictions and turbine test results. Using this test facility, the effects of axial spacing between rotor and stator rows on the nozzle wake excitation have been investigated for two different stator vane profiles. The water table test results correlate qualitatively with the turbine test data. The cancellation of nozzle passing frequency excitation by off-setting nozzle pitch was demonstrated in the water table and the results compared with both the analytical predictions and the laboratory turbine test results.

Efficiencies of 60Hz full size test turbines were measured in various wet steam conditions to reveal the wetness impact on the performance. We changed the wetness and stage load conditions independently under the condition of constant steam mass flow rate in the low pressure turbine. The test results told that the stage efficiency decreases with the increasing of wetness as many studies showed, furthermore, the stage efficiency decreases more in smaller load conditions than in the design point. In addition, blade length effects were examined by comparing two types of LP turbine to be found that the longer case got more deficits at the same wetness. Some theoretical evaluations were tried and a combination of some simple loss models explained the tendencies above, qualitatively. The evaluation showed that absolute value of mechanical wet loss such as braking loss remained unchanged regardless of load conditions, so in low load condition, ratio of mechanical loss to stage load increased, resulting decrease of stage efficiency. It also showed that increasing wet loss at the longer blade was mainly because higher circumferential velocity caused larger mechanical wet loss such as braking loss.

The possibility of life and reliability enhancing of AL-31F low pressure turbine disc’s fir-tree slots by ultrasonic hardening is considered. Having disc’s material properties studied, working stress derivation is executed which was further used for following comparative fatigue tests. Also, Davidenkov method residual stress analysis is carried out which showed 95.3 % change to compression stress for circumferential residual stress and 80.9 % change to compression stress for axial residual stress which proves possibility of fir-tree slots’ life and reliability enhancement by ultrasonic hardening. Comparative fatigue tests with N = 4•10 5 cycles basis showed that the hardened samples standing out the cycle basis during higher oscillatory amplitudes (and, thus, affecting loads) than the non-hardened basic ones.

This research is motivated by the low desire of students in writing travel reports. The lack of students' knowledge of the report concept, the lack of students' knowledge of the 5W + 1H report points of good and correct language, the lack of students' knowledge of the spatial, time and topic pattern and not yet reached KKM 75. The method used by the teacher has not been interesting, lecture method. The purpose of this study is to describe the skills of writing travel reports by using Round Club learning model which is viewed from the aspect of understanding the report concept, the use of 5W +1H report points, the spatial, time, and topic pattern.The population of this study is the students of class V Lessons Year 2017/2018 which amounted to 2 classes with the number 80. The sample of research as much as two classes taken by the sample of propotional.Class V.1 as experimental class and class V.2 as control class. The research instrument used is performance test. Provide an assessment by specifying the subject of the 5W + 1H report, as well as the spatial, time and topic pattern. Data were analyzed by 't' test by first testing normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing.The results showed that the average control class 68 with more than enough qualifications with standard deviation 16.96. 83 experimental class with good qualification and standard deviation of 15.42 and there is a significant influence on the result of writing skill of class V SDN 01 Nagari Bukik SikumpaSubdistrict, Lima Puluh Kota. This is evidenced by the average value of writing skills in the experiment class higher than the average value in the control class. Normality test results indicate that the two sample classes of  Lo  values in the control class -0.2141 are smaller than the normal 0.190 Lt distributed. Homogeneity test results that the variation of this study is homogeneous at a real level of 0.05, because Ftable 2.16 > Fhitung 1.21 and the results of data analysis then obtained = 2.78 > 1.70 t table, so H0 rejected and H1 accepted. It can be concluded that there is Influence. BACKGROUND: Few studies have investigated the variations in body composition and performance in Japanese collegiate American-football players. OBJECTIVE: To clarify what characterizes competitors at the highest levels – in the top division or on the starting lineup – we compared players’ body compositions and performance test results. METHODS: This study included 172 players. Each player’s body composition and performance (one-repetition maximum bench press, one-repetition maximum back squat, and vertical jump height) were measured; power was estimated from vertical jump height and body weight. Players were compared according to status (starter vs. non-starter), position (skill vs. linemen), and division (1 vs. 2). Regression analysis was performed to determine characteristics for being a starter. RESULTS: Players in higher divisions and who were starters were stronger and had more power, greater body size, and better performance test results. Players in skill positions were relatively stronger than those in linemen positions. Vertical jump height was a significant predictor of being a starter in Division 1. CONCLUSION: Power and vertical jump may be a deciding factor for playing as a starter or in a higher division.

Unsteady pressure fluctuations measured by fast-response pressure transducers mounted in a low-pressure turbine cascade are compared to unsteady simulation results. Three differing simulation approaches are considered, one time-integration method and two harmonic balance methods either resolving or averaging the time-dependent components within the turbulence model. The observations are used to evaluate the capability of the harmonic balance solver to predict the transient pressure fluctuations acting on the investigated stator surface. Wakes of an upstream rotor are generated by moving cylindrical bars at a prescribed rotational speed that refers to a frequency of f∼500 Hz. The excitation at the rear part of the suction side is essentially driven by the presence of a separation bubble and is therefore highly dependent on the unsteady behavior of turbulence. In order to increase the stability of the investigated harmonic balance solver, a developed Lanczos-type filter method is applied if the turbulence model is considered in an unsteady fashion.
