Coal is the most extensively used nonrenewable energy source worldwide. In Pakistan coal is mostly mined by underground mining methods under poor and unsafe working environment. In this study, accident records of underground coal mines of Cherat coal field were collected and analysis was carried out to understand the consequences, time of occurrence and causes of accidents. Besides, occupation of a victim, responsible party and effects on production were also considered in present study. The relationship between workers’ age and severity rate was examined using regression analysis. The main causes of accidents were the fall of the roof, mine gases, electrocution, oxygen deficiency and slip fall. At Cherat coalfield, for every two mines, there is one fatality and most of the accidents occur due to roof fall between 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. It is due to the stress of production efficiency. Moreover, there is a negligible impact of accidents on coal production at Cherat coalfield from 1994 to 2015. Keywords

There are many factors that can lead to internship satisfaction. Working environment is one of the factors that will result to such outcome. However, many organizations discarded the fact of its importance. The purpose of this study is to determine whether there is a significant relationship between working environment and internship satisfaction level as well as to determine whether the dimensions of working environment significantly affect internship satisfaction. The said dimensions are, learning opportunities, supervisory support, career development opportunities, co-workers support, organization satisfaction, working hours and esteem needs. A total of 111 questionnaires were distributed to the respondents and were processed by SPSS program to obtain the result of this study. The results reveal that learning opportunities, career development opportunities, organization satisfaction and esteem needs are factors that contribute to internship satisfaction level. In the other hand, supervisory support, co-workers support and working hours are factors that lead to internship dissatisfaction. The result also shows that organization satisfaction is the strongest factor that affects internship satisfaction while co-workers support is the weakest.

Fluctuations in operation resistance during the operating process lead to reduced efficiency in tractor production. To address this problem, the project team independently developed and designed a new type of hydraulic mechanical continuously variable transmission (HMCVT). Based on introducing the mechanical structure and transmission principle of the HMCVT system, the priority of slip rate control and vehicle speed control is determined by classifying the slip rate. In the process of vehicle speed control, the driving mode of HMCVT system suitable for the current resistance state is determined by classifying the operation resistance. The speed change rule under HMT and HST modes is formulated with the goal of the highest production efficiency, and the displacement ratio adjustment surfaces under HMT and HST modes are determined. A sliding mode control algorithm based on feedforward compensation is proposed to address the problem that the oil pressure fluctuation has influences on the adjustment accuracy of hydraulic pump displacement. The simulation results of Simulink show that this algorithm can not only accurately follow the expected signal changes, but has better tracking stability than traditional PID control algorithm. The HMCVT system and speed control strategy models were built, and simulation results show that the speed control strategy can restrict the slip rate of driving wheels within the allowable range when load or road conditions change. When the tractor speed is lower than the lower limit of the high-efficiency speed range, the speed change law formulated in this paper can improve the tractor speed faster than the traditional rule, and effectively ensure the production efficiency. The research results are of great significance for improving tractor’s adaptability to complex and changeable working environment and promoting agricultural production efficiency.

The main purpose of the paper is to present a proposal to measure the relationships between Goal 7 of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and one of the areas considered in the green growth concept: environmental production efficiency. Both of these areas illustrate the relationship between the natural environment and the economy, emphasizing transformations in the field of energy use. Selected taxonomic methods, TOPSIS, and multicriteria taxonomy, were applied to study the relationships between the two areas. The results of the EU countries classification showed a variety of countries’ development pathways within a single economic community. Despite continued attempts to equalize the development levels between European Union countries in many strategic areas, they remain highly diversified. That is also true for the areas analyzed in the paper, which is a disturbing situation, indicating that both strategies might not correlate in all respects. Further research into the relationships linking the remaining dimensions of both strategies is required.

This study aimed to verify the impact of servant leadership on innovative behaviour in non-governmental organisations (NGOs). It particularly investigated the role of a mediator for self-efficacy in the relationship between servant leadership and innovative behaviour. This study defined the organisational psychology-behaviour mechanism in non-profit organisations by verifying the moderated mediating effect of vocational calling in the relationship between servant leadership, self-efficacy, and innovative behaviour. The 174 pilot samples used in this study comprised community service participants in NGOs. The analysis verified the hypothesis set through causal correlations among four variables using regression analysis and the PROCESS macro developed by Hayes. Vocational calling played a moderating role in the relationship between servant leadership and self-efficacy, and vocational calling had a conditional effect on the impact of servant leadership on innovative behaviour through self-efficacy. Meanwhile, self-efficacy fully mediated servant leadership and innovative behaviour. Based on the verification of the mechanism of organisational psychology-action, this study sought ways to develop the organisation of NGOs and improve the working environment.

Applications of technology to improve the living and working environment and medical care of aging and aged people define a newly developing discipline called gerontechnology. Both this field and the human factors applications to aging that are embedded in it require a developmental view of the relationship between a person and her/his environment. From a developmental viewpoint, technology can affect aging through prevention of chronic problems that limit mobility; enhancement of social activities, work, education and recreation, and compensation for impaired functioning. Integration of technology into the lives of aging persons reacquires a developmental approach to the design of products and environments, consumer involvement in design and significant changes in the infrastructure for technology development and dispersal.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine the relationship between perceptions of learning climate and employee innovative behavior and proficiency. Design/methodology/approach Using robust analysis techniques on data from a sample of 419 employees and their supervisors from four different business and public sector organizations, the author tested the proposed relationships, as mediated by job engagement. Moreover, this mediation effect was examined in the light of sector of employment differences (business vs public). Findings The results were generally consistent with the hypothesized conceptual scheme, in that the indirect relationship between perceptions of learning climate and employees’ innovative behavior and proficiency was mediated by job engagement. However, with regard to sector employment differences, this mediation process was demonstrated among business sector employees only to the relationship between perceptions of learning climate and innovative behavior. When proficiency was included in the mediation model, this mediation effect was evident among public sector employees. Originality/value The research on perceptions of learning climate lacks empirical evidence on its implications for employees’ innovative behavior and proficiency. Although scholars contend that employees’ perceptions of learning climate should enhance their in-role and extra-role performance behaviors, these arguments are mainly non-empirical. Understanding whether perceptions of learning have an impact on employee intra- and extra-role performance behaviors is important, considering that the majority of workplace learning occurs through daily ongoing means that are part of the working environment and previous research results show that structured learning and formal training are less effective in improving employees’ performance at work.

Audit Committees are a vital component of accountability and good governance for any serious organisation and have progressively been perceived as an integral part of modern control structures and control practices in both the public and private sectors. However, Audit Committees can only discharge such gigantic responsibilities in a conducive environment to provide its effective performance of certain key functions in the areas of oversight of risk management, reporting, and internal controls. Nonetheless, the enablement of such conducive environments has become a challenge to many Audit Committees. It is against this background that this study investigates the relationship between an effective audit committee and infusion of a good control environment. The study used structured and unstructured questions to investigate population comprising standing committee members and Audit Committee members. Thus this study made use of a mixed methodology to collect quantitative data as well as reviewing audit documents, such as, the Audit Committee Charter and minutes of meetings in order to ascertain the environment under which such august practices are performed. The outcome concludes that the Audit Committee which was selected for the study has the good working environment.
