The goal of modern dentistry is to be conservative, preserving teeth but also maintaining the stability of the remaining alveolar ridge and the periodontium's proprioceptive capabilities. Cu-sil denture is the simplest approach in the preservation of teeth and maintaining proprioception. It is a type of transitional denture that provides an alternative treatment plan for the patients willing to replace their missing teeth while retaining their remaining natural teeth. It gives potential psychological benefits to the patients by avoiding extractions. It's a tissue-bearing acrylic appliance with a soft viscoelastic wrap that clasps the neck of each dentition, sealing out food and water simultaneously protecting and splinting each remaining tooth from the rigid acrylic denture base. This case reports series describes chairside techniques to fabricate Cu-sil dentures in the usual dental set-up

The present prime concern in dentistry is on preservation of remaining natural teeth. Presence of few teeth in oral cavity help in preserving alveolar ridge integrity, maintain the proprioception, and gives psychological benefit to the patient. Overdenture has proven to be the mainstay of conservative prosthodontic treatment when proper diagnosis, treatment planning, and most importantly, patient compliance are achieved. This paper presents a case report of rehabilitation of a 65 year old patient with multiple missing teeth with tooth supported overdenture in both maxilla and mandible.

Objective: According to the manufacture, fewer than 1 in 10 capsule associated with overdentures on natural teeth separated from the denture base during an 8-year clinical trial; more interestingly, none experience loss of magnetic attraction.Methods: A 50 year old female patient came to Dental Hospital Makassar Hasanuddin University wanted to fix a loose denture, which has been used for 9 years. Chief complaint was a mobile mandibular denture. Treatment for the restoration of oral function, including mastication, using mandibular implant-retained overdenture with magnets in total edentulous. Implant supported retained with magnetic attachment constitute an accurate and predictable treatment option and achieve a higher patients satisfaction.Results: The surface of both magnet and attachment keeper were coated with titanium nitride (TiN). Self-curing resin was used for luting between  magnets and denture base resin.Conclusion: Magnetic attachments can be used to retain mandibular implant overdenture.Key words: Implant supported overdenture with magnets, resorbed alveolar ridge, total edentulous

ABSTRACT Over denture is favoured treatment modality for an elderly patient with few remaining teeth, because of adaptation to wearing is facilitated. Roots maintained under the denture base preserve the alveolar ridge, provide sensory feedback and improve the stability of the dentures. In comparison with complete dentures, overdentures may provide better functions. The most common problem of mandibular complete denture is retention & stability and alveolar ridge resorption; hence care must be taken to preserve it.

Nowadays one of the prime concern in dentistry is on preservation of remaining natural teeth. Many patients require replacement of missing teeth and associated structures to enhance appearance, improve masticatory efficiency, prevent unwanted movement of teeth (overeruption/ drifting), and/ or improve phonetics. Presence of few teeth in oral cavity helps in preserving alveolar ridge integrity, maintain the proprioception, and gives psychological benefit to the patient. This case report presents a case of a 54-years-old female with few remaining teeth, one remaining tooth in maxilla and two remaining teeth in mandible. Patient wants to get her masticatory function and aestethic back with maintain her remaining teeth. Cu-sil denture is one of the simplest removable partial denture that can replace missing teeth where only few teeth remain in oral cavity. A Cu-sil denture is a denture with holes, lined by a gasket, the holes that providing space for remaining natural teeth to emerge into the oral cavity through the denture.

All efforts to save the natural teeth should be made during restoration to achieve optimum functionality and aesthetics. Tooth loss is associated with appetite loss and loss of nutritional values. Thus, rehabilitating complete or partial edentulous conditions contributes to improvement in the functioning of the masticatory system. In the latter case of partially dentate condition, the natural teeth present preserve the residual ridges. Extraction of teeth causes alveolar ridge resorption. Poor foundation or ridge form donot provide support for the denture bases which is the factor of utmost consideration for stabilisation of the denture bases. In these instances, use of the telescopic dentures may be indicated. A telescopic denture retains and preserves the natural teeth beneath it. Every dentist aims at preserving the natural and restoring the lost. Preservation of the remaining teeth in turn preserves the natural proprioception mechanism, was thus followed and applied in this case report in which a 25-year-old female patient with diabetic history and on medication since past four years, presented with multiple missing teeth in December 2019. After thorough evaluation, the patient was treated by Marburg double crown system or synonymously termed as telescopic denture opposing the tooth supported overdenture. Follow-up and recall schedule was then explained and operator noted a satisfactory response from the patient. Consecutive follow-ups were maintained.

The prosthetic rehabilitation of partially edentulous arch by an artificial substitute is always a challenge for the Prosthodontists. There is always a problem of retention, stability and support of the artificial prosthesis. It is most difficult to satisfy the patients who have high retentive demands especially in the Mandibular removal partial denture prosthesis. This paper presents a case where in few remaining natural teeth of the patient was used to enhance the retention, stability and support of the mandibular tooth supported overdenture prosthesis. The over-denture tends to be bulkier and overcontoured encroachment of inter-occlusal distance is another disadvantage. The concept of overdentures works by means for delaying the process of complete endentulism and helps in the preservation of bone. And above all, it gives the patient the satisfaction of having prosthesis with his natural teeth still present.  In this article, case reports with an innovative approach to manage the overcontouring and encroaching of inter-occlusal distance which is generally encountered in a conventional tooth supported over denture. SummaryCase reports cited in Medline or Biological Abstracts (1966-1996) were reviewed to evaluate the impact of vitamin K1 dietary intake on the stability of anticoagulant control in patients using coumarin derivatives. Reported nutrient-drug interactions cannot always be explained by the vitamin K1 content of the food items. However, metabolic data indicate that a consistent dietary intake of vitamin K is important to attain a daily equilibrium in vitamin K status. We report a diet that provides a stable intake of vitamin K1, equivalent to the current U.S. Recommended Dietary Allowance, using food composition data derived from high-performance liquid chromatography. Inconsistencies in the published literature indicate that prospective clinical studies should be undertaken to clarify the putative dietary vitamin K1-coumarin interaction. The dietary guidelines reported here may be used in such studies.

Abstract Background The vertical thickness of the peri-implant mucosa is associated with the amount of post treatment marginal bone loss. However, the variations in mucosal thickness at the different edentulous sites have been sparsely documented. The purpose of the study was to conduct a survey of the frequency distribution of variations in mucosal thickness at the different sites of the edentulous alveolar ridge and to compare them according to gender. Our study included 125 partially edentulous patients having a total of 296 implant sites. Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans were obtained by placing a diagnostic template with a radiopaque crown indicator on the ridge to determine the mucosal thickness at the crest of the alveolar ridge. Results The mucosal thickness was 3.0±1.3 mm in the maxilla, which was significantly greater than the mucosal thickness of 2.0±1.0 mm in the mandible (p<0.001). In both the maxilla and the mandible, the mucosa was the thickest in the anterior region, followed by the premolar and molar regions. Sites were further classified into two groups based on whether the mucosal thickness was greater than 2 mm. In the mandible, more than half of the sites showed a mucosal thickness of 2 mm or less. Conclusions Although this study was a limited preoperative study, the vertical mucosal thickness at the edentulous ridge differed between the maxillary and mandibular regions. The majority of sites in the mandibular molar region had a mucosal thickness of less than 2 mm. Practitioners might be able to develop an optimal dental implant treatment plan for long-term biologic and esthetic stability by considering these factors.

A new quad bundle conductor galloping model considering wake effect is proposed to solve the problem of different aerodynamic coefficients of each subconductor of iced quad bundle conductor. Based on the quasistatic theory, a new 3-DOF (three degrees of freedom) galloping model of iced quad bundle conductors is established, which can accurately reflect the energy transfer and galloping of quad bundle conductor in three directions. After a series of formula derivations, the conductor stability judgment formula is obtained. In the wind tunnel test, according to the actual engineering situation, different variables are set up to accurately simulate the galloping of iced quad bundle conductor under the wind, and the aerodynamic coefficient is obtained. Finally, according to the stability judgment formula of this paper, calculate the critical wind speed of conductor galloping through programming. The dates of wind tunnel test and calculation in this paper can be used in the antigalloping design of transmission lines.
