Abstract. This article examines the positive and negative aspects of introjective psychomotor practices (PMI) as perceived by physical education students. The aim of PMI is to stimulate self-awareness through conscious motor actions. The study comprised a content analysis of teaching practice logbooks of 42 students (average age 19.8 ±1.42 years), concerning PMI included in the Diploma in Infant Education offered by the Faculty of Human Sciences and Education of the University of Zaragoza in Spain. The independent variable was the series of PMI and the dependent variables were benefits and difficulties perceived by the students. NUDIST 6 software was used for data analysis. Results show that PMI improve students’ welfare through stress relief, introspection (maximum self-implication in the present moment) and self-realization (an increase in sensory awareness and self-regulation). These are aspects that shape social and personal competences and are necessary and relevant for achieving educational wellbeing. Negative aspects concerned external attention, mental agitation, discomfort and embarrassment.

Cybal-Michalska for planning career prospects and career development in modern society by academic youth. Results demonstrate the professional expectations of the sample to be largely met. Students of the University School of Physical Education in Wroclaw are oriented towards individualistic and collectivistic values to a similar extent. Both groups are moderately satisfied with study choices and have a realistic outlook on the difficulties in finding a job consistent withtheir education. They assess the prospect of a satisfactory career on an equally moderate level, although individualist-oriented students perceive significantly fewer ways of achieving professional success. Collectivistic students emphasize values characteristic of a safe future and working with people and for people. Individualistic students are geared towards innovative and creative activities. Students perceive their careers in the psychological dimension, and select lifestyle and professionalism as the lead guides in career development.

Introduction: Self-determination theory plays a crucial role in self-awareness forming. It suggests that people are motivated to grow and change as well as to be able to become self-determined by three universal psychological needs: for fulfillment of competence, connection, and autonomy. The article examines the main criteria and indicators of self-determination. Socio-pedagogical conditions are pro-posed which provide the effectiveness of the process of forming social self-determination among students. Materials and methods: the methodological basis is the ideas of personal and pro-fessional development as the basis the foundation of achieving a professional “acme” in the works of such scientists as A.S. Anisimov, A.A. Bodalev, A.A. Derkach, V.G. Zazykin, A.K. Markova, N.V. Kuzmina and others. Scientists focused on interdiscipli-nary connections and integration approaches in the study of the problems of personality self-determination. Results: recommendations are given for the design of activating methods of self-determination. The research hypothesis is based on the assumption that the for-mation of self-determination in the educational process of the university will be effective if proposed conditions are realized: providing the interconnection of formation processes and person’s self-development; inclusion of students in a variety of activities in order to acquire social experience and a system of social roles for further self-development; trainings for motivational growth and classes aimed at developing skills of self-organization and self-regulation in stressful situations. Discussion and Conclusions: according to these conclusions, a set of recommenda-tions were developed: external and internal factors of social self-determination should be considered in the system, with its inherent connection with the environ-ment, since changes in the social environment entail changes in the system of factors; in order to study personal properties, develop mutual understanding and determine ways of development and correction, one should use high-quality psychodiagnostic techniques, trainings for motivational growth, aimed at developing skills of self-organization and self-regulation in stressful situations; it is necessary to ensure the activity of students in a variety of activities.

The satisfaction of the needs for both competence and self-regulation influence student motivation. Guided by Self-Determination Theory (SDT), this study examined the influence of gender, grade level, program type, and school sport participation (SSP) on perceived competence and self-regulation among secondary physical education students. Participants included 158 students (109 males and 49 females) aged 14 to 24 years old (M = 18.91; SD = 1.48) enrolled in compulsory second and third year (Grades 11-12) PE at one high school in Ghana. The students completed the Perceived Competence Scale (PCS) and the Self-Regulation Questionnaire-Learning (SRQ-L). The PCS and SRQ-L were reworded to pertain to the PE context. The SRQ-L had two subscales: autonomy regulation (AUT) and controlled regulation (CTR). The percentage of students with high levels of PCS, AUT, and CTR were 46.20%, 49.37%, and 18.99% respectively. PCS had a significant positive correlation with AUT, CTR, and grade level. In addition, PCS, AUT, and CTR all had significant positive correlations with grade level. The mean differences for PCS, AUT, and CTR differed by grade level and program type, but not gender or SSP. Differences in grade level and program type should be considered in helping students enhance their perceived competence and self-determination in PE.

Responses to a questionnaire concerning experiences on their first teaching practice and their reactions to it were obtained for 218 Diploma of Education students at the University of Melbourne. Six main factors were investigated and compared with a similar analysis for Canadian students. The relationships between these factors and changes in attitudes, anxiety and commitment to teaching were examined for a sub-group of 95 students. The major factor to emerge was marked by the students' impression of having students respond well to their teaching, little trouble with discipline and satisfaction with teaching as a future prospect. Those who felt they had learnt a lot from teaching practice tended to be those who had been given close supervision and good facilities in the school in addition to getting a good response from the children. A teachers' strike which was in progress at the time had little influence, except that contact with radical teachers seemed to shift the students' attitudes on pupil control in the humanistic direction.
