Purpose: This paper assesses the role of microfinance services on the growth of small and medium size enterprises in Douala, Cameroon. Methodology: The paper adopts a mixture of Survey Research and a causal research design. Data were collected mainly through likert scaling questionnaires administered effectively to 57 customers of CCC Plc selected at random. Multiple regression analysis and product moment correlation techniques were used with associated statistical tests (Pearsons, student- t, and ANOVA or F tests). Findings: Considering three business growth enhancing microfinance services: loans, savings and assistance, it was found that loans granted by MFI and Saving service are paramount for the likelihood of SMEs in Cameroon. The effects of saving and loans were positive and highly significant in contributing to the profitability as well as return on assets of the small enterprises. Assistance given by MFIs had positive relation but was not very significant as there are not actually put in place given that Most MFI are profit outfits. Unique contribution to theory, practice and policy: Important recommendations emanated from the results. One of such proposal is that the cost and conditions of savings and lending by MFIs should be relaxed as an instrumental strategy to foster the growth of SMEs. Keywords: Microfinance services, growth of SMEs, regression analysis, Cameroon

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of profitability and liquidity on dividend policy and firm value. It also examines the role of dividend policy as an intervening variable between profitability and liquidity on firm value. Firm value is measured by Tobin's Q, dividend policy is measured by dividend payout ratio (DPR), profitability is measured by return on assets (ROA) and liquidity is measured by current ratio (CR). The population of this study is companies registered in List of Sharia Securities consisting of more than 300 companies. Samples were taken as many as 100 companies with a purposive sampling method. The observation period is 3 years (2016-2018). To test hypotheses using multiple regression analysis. The result shows that profitability is significant and positively effect on dividend policy, while liquidity does not affect on dividend policy. Profitability and dividend policy have a positive and significant effect on firm value, while liquidity has no effect on firm value. Another result of dividend policy is able to be as an intervening effect on profitability of firm value but not as an intervening liquidity relationship to firm value.

This study aims to determine the factors that influence companies in using derivatives. In this study, the factors studied were the cost of debt, foreign sales, risk management, and corporate governance on the company's decision to use derivatives. The analytical method used in this research is logistic regression analysis using the Statistical Product and Services Solutions software. A total of 60 samples were used in this study, which were 20 companies included in the Corporate Governance Perception Index survey from 2016 to 2018. The Corporate Governance Perception Index survey is a survey conducted by the Indonesian Institute for Corporate Governance. The results of this study indicate that the cost of debt variable has a significant effect on the decision to use derivatives by the company. The corporate governance variable also has a significant effect on the decision to use derivatives by the company. The foreign sales variable in this study does not have a significant effect on the decision to use derivatives by companies. The risk management variable does not have a significant effect on the decision to use derivatives by the company. In this study, there are also control variables, namely firm size and return on assets. In this study, the firm size variable does not have a significant effect on the decision to use derivatives by the company. Meanwhile, the return on assets variable has a significant effect on the decision to use derivatives by the company.

The purpose of this study is to understand the role of chefs‘ perceptions of national cuisine in their intention to purchase local food. Data were collected through a survey instrument which includes individual scales for chefs‘ perceptions of national cuisine and their intentions to buy local food. 106 questionnaires were distributed to chefs attending to activities held by Turkish Chefs Federation in Antalya ANFAS Fairground between 26 and 28 February 2015. Within a convenient sampling method, 74 questionnaires were returned and 67 of these were included into the subsequent analyses. Following the reliability and validity analysis of the scales, the results showed that chefs perceived national cuisine in three domains as cost, labor and popularity, and the findings of regression analysis indicated that the cost dimension of national cuisine perception influenced chefs‘ intention to purchase local food.

Purpose This study aims to explore the relationship between consumers’ religiosity, their perceived functional, individual and social value of luxury and their luxury purchase intention. Design/methodology/approach The proposed relationships were explored in an intercultural setting by using samples from two considerably different cultures, Saudi Arabia and India. The identified constructs were measured by adapting the established scales. Statistical tests including exploratory factor analysis, multi-group confirmatory factor analysis and covariance-based structural equation modeling were applied to test the conceptual model and research hypotheses. Findings The results show that religiosity is not found to be negatively related to luxury purchase intention in both samples. Moreover, it was found that the functional and social values produce positive mediating effects, whereas the individual values (materialism, hedonism) of luxury products negatively mediate the relationship between religiosity and consumer purchase intention. Practical implications This research suggests that a non-traditional strategy may be effective to market luxury goods to religious consumers such as suppressing the materialistic aspect to focus on the quality and functionality aspects of the products. Originality/value The role of luxury value perception as a mediator between religiosity and luxury purchase intentions has not been studied in the previous researches to the best of authors’ knowledge, and is therefore, the unique contribution of this study. This research addresses the gap in the existing body of knowledge by probing how religiosity effects perceptions of luxury value and resultant luxury purchase intention.

SummaryWe measured total and free protein S (PS), protein C (PC) and factor X (FX) in 393 healthy blood donors to assess differences in relation to sex, hormonal state and age. All measured proteins were lower in women as compared to men, as were levels in premenopausal women as compared to postmenopausal women. Multiple regression analysis showed that both age and subgroup (men, pre- and postmenopausal women) were of significance for the levels of total and free PS and PC, the subgroup effect being caused by the differences between the premenopausal women and the other groups. This indicates a role of sex-hormones, most likely estrogens, in the regulation of levels of pro- and anticoagulant factors under physiologic conditions. These differences should be taken into account in daily clinical practice and may necessitate different normal ranges for men, pre- and postmenopausal women.

The purpose of present study is to examine the role of learning strategies as moderator between meta-cognitive awareness and study habits among university students. Sample comprises of 200 students (100 male students and 100 female students) of various universities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi with age ranging from 18-25 years. In order to assess study variables questionnaires were used included Meta-Cognitive Awareness Inventory (Schraw & Dennison, 1994) measuring two-components of meta-cognition that are knowledge and regulation of cognition. Study habits demonstrated by the students were measured by the Study Habits Inventory (Wrenn, 1941). Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (Pintrich, Smith, Garcia, & McKeachie, 1991) which includes motivation and learning strategies scales. In the present study, only the learning strategies section was utilized, which measures the cognitive strategies and resource management strategies. Results revealed positive correlation between research instruments and are also having good reliability. Regression analysis reflected that meta-cognitive awareness predicts study habits among university students. Regression analysis also suggested that learning strategies including resource management strategies and cognitive strategies significantly moderates the relationship between meta-cognitive awareness and study habits. It is also explored gender differences on learning strategies, meta-cognitive awareness and study habits. Future implications of the study were also discussed.

The progress of the Islamic bank cannot be separated from the role of its customers who give trust to the bank to deposit their financial assets. It is a fact many groups of customers decide to be the customers of the Islamic bank because of their religiosity. The other influences factor of a customer’s decision is the quality of the product. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of product quality and level of customers’ religiosity towards customers’ decision whether to keep their funds in Syariah Mandiri Bank, Branch of Purwokerto, or not. The analytical tool used was multiple linear regression analysis, with a sample of 100 customers. The results indicate Y = 5,046 + 0,101X1 + 0,218X2. Based on F, it can be seen that both variables of product quality and religiosity simultanously affect the customers’ decision to keep theirfunds in BSM Branch of Purwokerto. Based on t test, it can be seen that independently, either variable of product quality or variables of religiosityinfluences the customers’ decision to keep their funds in BSM Branch of Purwokerto.
