Any analogy explains a little, but a lot of things well illustrates. One of the main feature of the development of a complex system is existence of side effects and negative consequences. The development of such a complex and socially relevant system as the education system is, demands special attention. New approaches are necessary in a post-soviet education system. It is obvious that the education system should change, but a well known medical principle “don't do much harm” should be realized during decision-making process on each of levels of the education system. Key words: complex system, education system, management.

One of the main tasks of the decision support theory is the study of methods and tools for solving the problem of minimizing the negative consequences and risks in choosing strategic directions for the development of the studied system - the object of management. The formal algorithm of the optimization in conditions of the decision-making process stochastic uncertainty, and realization of steady states in system is investigated. The purpose of the algorithm model is to provide the predicted dynamics, compensation of structural, parametric uncertainty of the control system. The ambiguity of the choice the alternative solutions and as a consequence - the inadequacy of the mathematical model, due to the significant amount of stochastic and functional relationships, different ways of presenting input data, the impossibility formalizing the studied processes. Solutions in conditions of partial or complete uncertainty can be found by searching for elements of a set the alternatives, each of which with some probability may be the optimal solution. If statistical observations of the studied object or management process are incomplete, insufficiently formalized, or impossible at all, then the uncertainty of the decision to predict the directions of their possible development is clear. The decision-making process in conditions of uncertainty is proposed to be divided into stages: specification and formalization of the decision-making model; choice methods and algorithms for constructing alternatives taking into account the peculiarities of the chosen decision-making model. Parametric uncertainty is described as an interval estimate of possible values of the studied parameter. The interval can be strictly limited by numerical values, or with not clear limits - descriptive qualitative variables. Modeling of the control process in conditions of stochastic uncertainty is based on the definition of the object under study as a complex system. A promising area of research on this topic is a mathematical description of the value distribution function within the interval, which can be formalized on the basis of expert estimates, or as a heuristic probability distribution function of unpredictable events.

There is a worldwide range of technical sanitation guidelines focusing on small or traditional and isolated communities for ecological alternatives at the household level. However, a computational tool (software) that has a database and connects these guidelines in a single reference for resource-oriented sanitation concept decision making is still lacking. In this regard, an easy-to-use tool was developed using a participatory approach for the decision-making process from a choice of technical solutions to a type of system management. The results obtained from a pilot study indicate that the proposed tool in this paper will help with the decision-making process to aid in not only choosing sustainable sanitation solutions, but also sustainable operation and maintenance options for the systems. When presenting and discussing the tool with research groups and technicians, the potential for participatory application was noticed. The proposed tool can be used in the elaboration of municipal sanitation plans, assisting local technicians and environmental licensing agencies, designers and engineering students, among others. The software can be applied with other management tools, such as 5W2H and Canvas business model.

Abstract Climate change is one of the most severe global challenges of the present generation. Variations in temperature and precipitation can seriously affect water energy, water and food (EWF) security. Assessment of the ground-based observation of the climatic parameters such as temperature and precipitation are vital for the overall decision-making process concerning energy, water and food security. In this study, temperature and precipitation data is investigated using the Mann Kendall, Pettitt and Watson tests and inter-annual variability assessment. Long-term temperature data indicates that the annual and seasonal temperature has increased significantly between 1987 and 2016. The mean temperature has increased by 1.02 ℃ over the period of observation. In contrast, the study determines that precipitation during the period of observation decreased by -12.6 mm. However, this decreasing trend is not statistically significant (p < 0.05). Furthermore, total monthly precipitation is observed to be decreasing during the winter (December-January-February-DJF) while increasing in spring (March-April-May-MAM), summer (June-July-August-JJA) and autumn (September-October-November-SON). Despite the observed increases in the seasonal temperature during JJA, MAM and SON, the decreasing trend in winter precipitation is of more concern as most of the rainfall is received during DJF. These results have serious implications for EWF resources and the ‘nexus’ between them. Such integrated resource management approaches not only lower the risks of a one-dimensional decision-making process, it can also identify interdependencies, synergies, and trade-offs amongst the EWF sectors. As an outcome of the calculated trends, this study recommends measures to improve the overall resilience of EWF sectors and to adapt and mitigate the negative consequences of the changing climate faced by these sectors.

The smart city concept is innovation in urbanism. Innovation is transformative, demanding the involvement of the public based on a belief that those who will be impacted by a decision have a right to be involved in the decision-making process. But smart city initiatives raise complex technical, privacy, economic, and intellectual property issues unlike those the public has been presented with before. This paper explores how Canadian municipalities are approaching this challenge by coding and analyzing applications to Infrastructure Canada’s Smart Cities Challenge (SCC). The analysis reveals, among other findings, that municipalities engaged citizens directly as well as their representatives, leveraged previously-conducted engagement and conducted new engagement, and employed a range of engagement activities online and offline. Recommendations to Infrastructure Canada and municipal planners highlight the need for more public input on the technology solutions proposed, increased attention to the digital divide during engagement, and citizen involvement in all stages of open innovation. Key words: Smart Cities Challenge, public engagement, open innovation

<p>Placement is a very decisive process in getting employees in accordance with what is needed by the company, because the right placement of employees in a position will be able to assist the company in achieving the expected goals. The method used in this method is an evaluation research method which means "decision making process, which is to compare an event, activity, product with predetermined standards and programs. Evaluation as a research means that it will function to explain the phenomenon (Riduwan (2004: 53). Because the value of t arithmetic t value of t table or 4,645 ≥ 1.65, then Ho is rejected, meaning intellectual intelligence really has a significant effect on work placement. Because the value of t count ≥ value of t table or 2.168 ≥ 1.65, then Ho is rejected, meaning self-motivation really has a significant effect on work placement. The magnitude of the effect simultaneously between the variables of intellectual intelligence (X1) and self-motivation (X2) on work placement (Y) is classified as moderate. While contributing together (simultaneous) variables X1, X2 to Y = R2 x 100% or 0.4222 x 100% = 17.8% while the remaining 49.4% is determined by other variables. Then regarding the ups and downs or the size of the work placement can be predicted through the regression equation Y = 22.42 + 0.410X1 + 0.455X2</p><p><strong>Key Words</strong>: occupation, intellectual intelligence (IQ), self motivation</p>

SummaryThe classification system of atypical and typical antipsychotics has created a lot of confusion and might be abandoned. Nevertheless, to say that all drugs are the same and that therefore it does not matter which drug is given is wrong. Both typical and atypical antipsychotics differ in side-effects, mechanisms of action, cost and efficacy. The available choice of antipsychotics should be adapted to individual patients in a shared decision-making process.

It has been well-documented that concerns about side effects prevent many from soliciting immunization. And family medicine providers play a key role in addressing concerns about COVID vaccines. However, there are few documented examples of the decision-making process regarding second shots after the emergence of a concerning and previously unknown side effect. Therefore, we present a case where a primary care provider and patient worked together to analyze real-time adverse event data on post-vaccination shingles to decide whether to receive the second dose.

In this critical assessment of the decision-making process in sport some ideas are clarified around an issue addressed in recent times. To this end, different perspectives are addressed: cognitive paradigm and ecological paradigm with the intention of referring, from a critical point of view, both to their convergences and to their theoretical divergences. A critical assessment is made on their object of study, the theories on which they are based, as well as the fundamental indicators and concepts they handle, based on the study conducted by García, Araujo, Carvalho & Del Villar (2011). Bear in mind that both constitute ways of understanding and explaining the decision process to improve sports performance. Finally, the need to recognize the athlete's behavior as a complex system is exposed, where adaptation with time deficit is of vital importance. It is urged to overcome the vision of each approach in terms of finding convergent points, in an attempt to maximize the best of both perspectives.
