scholarly journals THE CONCEPT OF CONSTRUCTING SET-THEORETIC MODELS OF STRUCTURES OF INTELLIGENT MULTI-AXIS MECHATRONIC ROBOT MODULES

The article discusses the features and areas of application of multi-axis electromagnetic mechatronic modules in modules of mechatronic and robotic systems that allow not only to increase productivity and improve the quality of manufactured products, but also by replacing heavy, monotonous and sometimes associated with a risk to human health, manual labor with a machine to release a person for creative constructive work. The generalized structure of a multi-axis mechatronic module is presented; multiple theoretical models of construction principles for the study of electromagnetic mechatronic modules of robots and robotic systems are constructed. In this case, the main attention is paid to the determination of the main and auxiliary sources of the magnetic field in such modules. An algorithm for the formation of equations for electromagnetic mechatronic modules is given on the example of an electromagnetic mechatronic module with linear motion, formed from electrical, magnetic and mechanical components interconnected with each other. The algorithm includes questions of constructing a structural model, the transition from a structural model to a structural-mode model, the choice of variables and connections between the electrical, magnetic and mechanical parts of the module, writing the equations of nodal parallel or contour sequential variables according to the structural-mode model, depending on the appropriateness of one or another method for specific components of the mechatronic module.

The determination of tolerances has a huge impact on the price and quality of products. The objective of tolerance analysis is to provide the widest possible tolerance range of parts, without disturbing the functionality of the assembly. Tolerance analysis should be performed during the design process because then there is still the possibility for change. For the purpose of carrying out the analysis, three methods will be used: Worst Case method, Root Sum Square method and Monte Carlo Simulation. Methods are explained through simple examples and applied on the one-way clutch.

Visual inspection is an important task in manufacturing industries in order to evaluate the completeness and quality of manufactured products. An autonomous robot-guided inspection system was recently developed based on an offline programming (OLP) and RGB-D model system. This system allows a non-expert automatic optical inspection (AOI) engineer to easily perform inspections using scanned data. However, if there is a positioning error due to displacement or rotation of the object, this system cannot be used on a production line. In this study, we developed an automated position correction module to locate an object’s position and correct the robot’s pose and position based on the detected error values in terms of displacement or rotation. The proposed module comprised an automatic hand–eye calibration and the PnP algorithm. The automatic hand–eye calibration was performed using a calibration board to reduce manual error. After calibration, the PnP algorithm calculates the object position error using artificial marker images and compensates for the error to a new object on the production line. The position correction module then automatically maps the defined AOI target positions onto a new object, unless the target position changes. We performed experiments that showed that the robot-guided inspection system with the position correction module effectively performed the desired task. This smart innovative system provides a novel advancement by automating the AOI process on a production line to increase productivity.

The National Education Standards Board in Indonesia is an independent and professional institution which maintain and control the quality of education. The National Examination is one of indicator which can be used as a basis for evaluating quality of education. National Accreditation Board for Schools conducts assessment to the schools on fulfillment of the established standards through accreditation process. There are several theoretical models of relationship between 8 national education standards for describing causality each other. The objective of this study are (1) to compare and determine the best model of the relationship between eight standards using generalized structured component analysis; and (2) to evaluate validity of indicators of accreditation instrument. It has been concluded that the model published by the Ministry of Education and Culture (2017) was the best model. AVE and Cronbach’s alpha showed that score on Mathematics, Science, English and Indonesian Language are important indicators for academic performance.  Critical ratio and variance inflation factor showed that there are 13 of 124 indicators of accreditation instrument are not valid. Analysis of structural model showed that school management has a big influence on standard of teachers and education staff. In addition, curriculum, standard of competency, standard of assessment and standard of process have direct influences to academic achievement.

In external grinding processes, vibrations induced by the process itself can lead to defects that affect the quality of the parts. The literature offers models that cannot include all process variables in the analysis. This research applies theoretical models and experimental analysis to determine their suitability for predicting the chatter profile of parts in a plunge grinding process. The application of variance analysis to overall vibration value induced by grinding wheel-workpiece contact allows us to show that high frequency displacements vibration are sensitive to the process setup as well as to the quality of the products manufactured. The final statistical analysis has provided a determination of the spectral bands of the process in which the vibrations causes by grinding wheel-workpiece contact influence the existence of flaws in the workpieces. The methodology described can contribute to increasing the environmental sustainability of an industrial organization.

The incommensurately modulated crystal structure of the mineral daliranite has been determined using 3D electron diffraction data obtained on nanocrystalline domains. Daliranite is orthorhombic with a = 21, b = 4.3, c = 9.5 Å and shows modulation satellites along c. The solution of the average structure in the Pnma space group together with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy data obtained on the same domains indicate a chemical formula of PbHgAs2S5, which has one S fewer than previously reported. The crystal structure of daliranite is built from columns of face-sharing PbS8 bicapped trigonal prisms laterally connected by [2+4]Hg polyhedra and (As3+ 2S5)4− groups. The excellent quality of the electron diffraction data allows a structural model to be built for the modulated structure in superspace, which shows that the modulation is due to an alternated occupancy of a split As site.

The problem of optimal portfolio of purchase of products (services) at the enterprises from many possible ones is considered. In this setting, the problem is explored and solved for the first time using a simulation tool. A mathematical model of the problem is built and an algorithm for its solution is developed. When building a mathematical model, the following parameters are taken into account: the number of types of products / services purchased; the number of enterprises that produce the required products; the need for products of a certain type; the cost of manufacturing a unit of production of each type at each enterprise; generalized indicator of quality of manufactured products of each type at each enterprise; index of identified comparative advantages in the manufacture of products j-th enterprise; the general budget of funds allocated for the purchase of products (financing the manufacture of products). The developed mathematical model makes it possible to find the optimal result of distribution of the required volume of orders (purchases) of each type of products at different enterprises (or at one enterprise), which provides the maximum offered level of product quality, and product purchase costs do not exceed the planned level. To illustrate the results of the developed algorithm, the example shows the search for the best option for purchasing products of four types (meeting a specific need) at each of the five companies offering these types of products. The proposed algorithm is of interest for practical application, makes it possible to determine the optimal portfolio of purchases of products (semi-finished products, parts), to solve the problem of optimal "package" purchases / orders. It is advisable to use it in private business, in enterprises of various spheres of activity and forms of ownership, as well as at the macro level of the economy, in particular, in the process of finding optimal options for government programs.
