Modern development territories composed of saline silty-clayey soils is not provided with the proper quality, and therefore requires deep scientific studies, which must be continued in the process of research, design, construction and operation of projected facilities with constant adaptation of the proposed proactive structural and technological developments to changing conditions flowing in these soils under anthropogenic impact on the salt component of the soil.

In the way of thinking of a modern man we are seeing a paradigm shift, namely, there is a gradual shift in priorities: ecological ones become primary, and economic – ones secondary. Progressive mankind more often pays attention to the preservation of natural resources, to environment purity, thereby trying to find the optimal ratio in solving environmental and economic issues. Analyzing the modern development of the sectors of the world national economy, we observe the prolonged dominance of economic priorities over environmental ones, which, in turn, cannot but negatively affect the state of the flora and fauna of our planet. These circumstances create, strange as it may seem, positive conditions for accelerating the creation of economic mechanisms for environmental protection aimed at reducing the anthropogenic impact of various factors on the environment. The economic efficiency of this activity is expressed through the prevented damage from environmental pollution. Construction is a branch of national economy which is always associated with interference in the environment; therefore, assessing the environmental and economic effectiveness of environmental protection activities, observing environmental protection measures is very important for this industry and society as a whole.

AbstractNowadays, technology helps raise the quality of teaching practice and processes of renewal in the retraining of teachers. To the extent that technological developments are assumed, the teaching learning process will help raise the skills of apprentices. That is why this research: “Use of ICT in teaching practice of teachers in the Department of Legal Sciences of the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra in Santiago”. It is therefore the overall objective sought to “analyze how teachers of the Department of Legal Sciences of the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra, use information and communications technology in their teaching practices.” The research design was non-experimental and eminently quantitative approach.

Current approaches to the behaviorally based treatment and management of Alzheimer's disease (AD) often fail to take advantage of technological developments in related fields. Thus, there are instances in which the need is not to discover new behavioral approaches, but to make use of “discoveries” made in other fields, charting a course for their application in dealing with AD. This assertion is suggested as a basis for strategic planning involving information transfer, to be conducted in addition to tactical planning regarding research design, implementation, and dissemination.

In recent years, rapid technological developments in the field of neuroimaging have provided several new methods for revealing thoughts, actions and intentions based solely on the pattern of activity that is observed in the brain. In specialized centres, these methods are now being employed routinely to assess residual cognition, detect consciousness and even communicate with some behaviorally non-responsive patients who clinically appear to be comatose or in a vegetative state. In this article, we consider some of the ethical issues raised by these developments and the profound implications they have for clinical care, diagnosis, prognosis and medical-legal decision-making after severe brain injury.

Qualitative case study research can be a valuable tool for answering complex, real-world questions. This method is often misunderstood or neglected due to a lack of understanding by researchers and reviewers. This tutorial defines the characteristics of qualitative case study research and its application to a broader understanding of stuttering that cannot be defined through other methodologies. This article will describe ways that data can be collected and analyzed.

A focus on the study of development and other kinds of changes in the whole individual has been one of the hallmarks of research by Magnusson and his colleagues. A number of different approaches emphasize this individual focus in their respective ways. This presentation focuses on intraindividual variability stemming from Cattell's P-technique factor analytic proposals, making several refinements to make it more tractable from a research design standpoint and more appropriate from a statistical analysis perspective. The associated methods make it possible to study intraindividual variability both within and between individuals. An empirical example is used to illustrate the procedure.
