<p>The GeoERA Information Platform Project (GIP-P) is establishing a new common platform for organising, disseminating and sustaining digital harmonised data from the GeoERA geoscientific projects on subsurface energy, water and raw material resources from all over Europe. The Platform is part of the EuroGeoSurveys’ European Geological Data Infrastructure (EGDI), which takes care of its future sustainability.</p><p>Great efforts are being put into making the data Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable (FAIR) at one place and thereby be as valuable as possible for the stakeholders.</p><p>The Platform consists of web applications, services, databases, digital repository, opensource tools and services that connect all together. The main components are:</p><p>EGDI Metadata Catalogue: It is based on the MIcKA system for management and publication of metadata on structured data and services. This technology enables entry, editing, harvesting, discovery, and view of metadata, including tools for compilation and export of metadata in standardized formats.</p><p>EGDI Central Database: Stores structured data for other main components in PostgreSQL. It contains geospatial data as well as configuration of various maps, layers, datasets uploaded by individual projects, metadata for unstructured documents and DOI-links, search system data, 3D models data, etc.</p><p>European Geoscience Registry: Stores and publishes controlled vocabularies for the whole GeoERA program which supports multilingual semantic text search and project specific knowledge concepts. It is a Linked Data Platform based on Jena RDF triple store.</p><p>Digital Archive: Stores unstructured data (PDF, DOI document links, images or comma separated files) and their metadata. It consists of a controlled part of the filesystem, the Solr search engine, the repository database and the thematic repository search web application that enables the user to perform an advanced search through the repository with auto-suggested terms from RDF triple store and ranked results. </p><p>Search System: Allows to discover geoscientific information from all of the above modules. Through a powerful search logic it allows to find datasets, see their metadata, access their available online distributions (specific representations of a dataset) and also select and display subsets of features from those datasets. Search results are ordered according to relevance.</p><p>The platform also contains modules for harvesting data in INSPIRE compliant formats, for disseminating geospatial data on web GIS, a 3D geological model viewer and modules for uploading data and for monitoring services.</p><p>The presentation will focus on describing the various components and their individual functions and in particular on how the search system interacts with all of them. This makes it possible to get useful results from the very diverse data sources from the system.</p>

Nickel slags can be produced through ferronickel preparation by the pyrometallurgical processing of laterite nickel ores; however, such techniques are underutilized at present, and serious environmental problems arise from the stockpiling of such nickel ores. In this study, a modification to the process of ferronickel preparation by the direct reduction of carbon bases in laterite nickel ores is proposed. The gangue from the ore is used as a raw material to prepare a cementitious material, with the main components of tricalcium silicate and tricalcium aluminate. By using FactSage software, thermodynamic calculations are performed to analyze the reduction of nickel and iron and the effect of reduction on the formation of tricalcium silicate and tricalcium aluminate. The feasibility of a coupled process to prepare ferronickel and cementitious materials by the direct reduction of laterite nickel ore and gangue calcination, respectively, is discussed under varying thermodynamic conditions. Different warming strategies are applied to experimentally verify the coupled reactions. The coupled preparation of ferronickel and cementitious materials with calcium silicate and calcium aluminate as the main phases in the same experimental process is realized.

AbstractMicrocrystalline cellulose (MCC) is a semi-crystalline material with inherent variable crystallinity due to raw material source and variable manufacturing conditions. MCC crystallinity variability can result in downstream process variability. The aim of this study was to develop models to determine MCC crystallinity index (%CI) from Raman spectra of 30 commercial batches using Raman probes with spot sizes of 100 µm (MR probe) and 6 mm (PhAT probe). A principal component analysis model separated Raman spectra of the same samples captured using the different probes. The %CI was determined using a previously reported univariate model based on the ratio of the peaks at 380 and 1096 cm−1. The univariate model was adjusted for each probe. The %CI was also predicted from spectral data from each probe using partial least squares regression models (where Raman spectra and univariate %CI were the dependent and independent variables, respectively). Both models showed adequate predictive power. For these models a general reference amorphous spectrum was proposed for each instrument. The development of the PLS model substantially reduced the analysis time as it eliminates the need for spectral deconvolution. A web application containing all the models was developed. A web application focused on the operations of labor personnel (specialists and training professionals) and a native mobile application focused on the actions of patients, each of them has the need to interact with the same information repository, analyzing the side of the Patient problems arise from permanent connectivity to the main data through the Internet or some other data transmission protocol, the requirement arises to be able to interact with the generated personal information, which could be achieved by synchronizing data between client-server.

Abstract Background: Phoebe bournei is a potential medicinal plant whose essential oil (EO) from leaves has potential inhibitory activities against some bacterium, tumor, and has a certain potential for hypoglycemic activity. Fertilization is a common and effective method to increase plant biomass, which can increase the raw material of essential oil, but has a certain impact on the composition and biological activity of plant essential oil. Results: The main components are sesquiterpenes in the essential oils from leaves and twigs. The yield of the essential oils and the content of their main components can be modulated by compost and compound fertilizer, to different degrees, and minor differences were registered among the categories of the components in essential oils. However, changes were strongly mirrored in some main components of essential oils. The content of the primary (+) - calarene in the leaf EO were strongly increased by compost, but the opposite happened by compound fertilizer. On the contrary, the effect of compound fertilizer was more significant on the main components of twig essential oil than compost. The transcriptome sequencing results of P. bournei showed that the total number of DEGs in twigs and leaves treated with compost were significantly more than that with compound fertilizer. No change was found in the expression of genes regulating principal components. However, the expression of several key genes regulating the upstream substrates for the synthesis of the sesquiterpenes was significantly changed: the expression of two key speed limiting enzymes genes (DXS and HMGR) and two important branch-point enzyme genes (FPPS and GGPPS) was significantly down regulated, while the expression of gene (HMGS) was significantly up-regulated.Conclusion: The expression levels of genes (DXS2, HMGR, FPPS and GGPPS) were significantly down regulated in leaves treated with compost, resulting in the changes of the yield and main components of the leaf essential oil. The effect of compost was more significant on the synthesis of the essential oil from P. bournei leaves than that of compound fertilizer.

The aim of the research is to analyze the raw material inventory and design a dashboard system that can help achieve company goals. The research method used is the method of analysis of stash, software design methods, and methods of software testing. The design analysis method used is the SWOT analysis, the design method used is the design concept using UML diagrams, the soft test method uses the Black Box concept. The results achieved are a dashboard system used by the Warehouse Section and Production Section to monitor raw material inventories and production performance. The conclusion of this study is that the dashboard application that has been made can help the Warehouse and Production Section to monitor raw material inventory and production performance in real time. This web application provides information easily, quickly, concisely and interactively which includes raw materials for shoe components, office equipment, production tools and general equipment, inventory planning, recommendations and reports on transactions and raw material requests. American skullcap (Scutellaria lateriflora L.) has long been used as a medicine by North American Indian tribes. A monograph of Scutellariae lateriflorae herba was included in the American Herbal Pharmacopoeia in 2009. This raw material is very popular in North America because of its sedative action. It is also highly valued in Australia, while in Europe, it has been widely used until now in the United Kingdom. The main components of the herb of this plant species include flavonoids specific for the Scutellaria genus, mostly baicalein, baicalin, wogonin, scutellarin. They are accompanied by other groups of compounds: diterpenoids – neoclerodan derivatives, γ-aminobutyric acid, melatonin, serotonin, catalpol, phenolic acids, phenylpropanoid glycosides (mostly verbascoside) and essential oil. Studies of chemical composition and investigation of medicinal activity of this raw material confirmed its uses known from North American folk medicine. Study results proved most of all a significance of flavonoid compounds present in the raw material for its documented biological activity. The aim of the paper is to review the present knowledge on chemical composition and medicinal significance of this very valuable plant. The research team from the Department of Pharmaceutical Botany JU MC initiated biotechnological studies of this species. Its microshoots successfully grown in vitro produce considerable amounts of specific flavonoids (mostly baicalin and wogonoside) and verbascoside, and in future they can be an alternative rich source of these compounds for pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to implement an activity support system for volunteer fire corps using Web-GIS technology. Design/methodology/approach In this study, the authors implemented a volunteer fire corps activity support system comprising a dispatch request system, a water sources geographic information system, a fire-vehicle location confirmation system, a route history system and an integrated management system. They implemented this system as a Web application in consideration of responsive design assuming that it is used on mobile terminals. Findings To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed system, the authors conducted a survey of 18 fire corps volunteers who were asked to evaluate the system for operability, relevance, functionality, usability and effectiveness. Originality/value In this research work, the authors implemented the volunteer fire corps activity support system using Web-GIS technology. The authors conducted a questionnaire survey of the volunteer fire corps activity support system, asking 18 fire corps volunteers to evaluate the system for operability, relevance, functionality, usability and effectiveness. The results of the survey indicate an overwhelming positive response to the volunteer fire corps activity support system for all five measures.

The main objective of integrating Web GIS in airport emergency response should be to provide the most appropriate geospatial information to all participants. Airport emergency response still needs a model that will explain its complexity: its participants, their tasks and information needs. This paper presents the UML model of airport emergency response. Such a model facilitates a common understanding of the system by participants coming from airport, police, fire brigade, etc. It also enables institutional agreements for sharing data. The developers have got specifications of geospatial data and GIS functions imposed by participants and standards. A prototype Web GIS application is developed and presented to the users for evaluation. The prototype has shown how GIS functions can improve airport emergency response. The users have shown great interest, and they have great expectations in further integration of Web GIS in airport emergency response.

This article describes the design and development of an interoperable application that supports green open access with long-term sustainability and improved user experience of article deposit. The lack of library resources and the unfriendly repository user interface are two significant barriers that hinder green open access. Tasked to implement the open access mandate, librarians at an American research university developed a comprehensive system called Easy Deposit 2 to automate the support workflow of green open access. Easy Deposit 2 is a web application that is able to harvest new publications, to source manuscripts on behalf of the library, and to facilitate self-archiving to a university’s institutional repository. The article deposit rate increased from 7.40% to 25.60% with the launch of Easy Deposit 2. The results show that a computer system can implement routine tasks to support green open access with success. Recent developments in digital repository provide new opportunities for innovation, such as Easy Deposit 2, in supporting open access. Academic librarians are vital in promoting “openness” in scholarly communication, such as transparency and diversity in the sharing of publication data.
