The study analyzes the scientific production that deals with the economic activity of the sport. This is a systematic review that evaluates scientific papers published in the last Olympic cycle (2012-2016) in national and international journals, in English, Spanish and Portuguese, indexed to the Portal of Journals of Capes (Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel). From the content analysis, 355 studies were examined that, despite their diversity, were grouped into 16 categories. The considerations suggest an ample process of commercialization of the sport as a cultural commodity and, also, vehicle of sale and propagation of other products.

Clean, safe and readily available water is very crucial in everyday life, especially for health, hygiene, and the productivity of the community. Unfortunately, increase in contaminants in water supplies from human activities and industrialization is very worrying. Conventional wastewater treatment includes the usage of alum that will affect health with prolonged consumption. This research was carried out to focus on the development of wastewater treatment system using adsorbent from Moringa oleifera seeds. Adsorbent was successfully synthesized from the seeds of Moringa oleifera. Characterization of the sample was made using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), while the effectiveness of water treatment was analyzed using Turbidity Meter. Then, all samples were tested against kaolin wastewater. XRD results showed that all the adsorbent samples were amorphous in nature. FTIR results indicated that there were hydroxyl group and carboxylic group in the sample representing numerous oxygen-riddled functional groups on the surface. From SEM results, it was clearly shown that the pore structure and size of Moringa oleifera affected the capability of adsorption where the smaller the size, the more effective the sample. Turbidity test showed that the sample that worked best for wastewater treatment was adsorbent from Moringa oleifera seeds in size of 125µm that was heated for 4 hours with 93.76% turbidity removal. Therefore, this study proved that the adsorbent from Moringa oleifera seeds is very suitable for high turbidity wastewater treatment. Further studies investigating the combination of conventional activated carbon with adsorbent from Moringa oleifera seeds should be conducted before these samples are made available for further use so that we can compare which sample works best for wastewater treatment.

Survey have proven the popular Canellaceae family use to treat various diseases such as: muscular pains, infections, stomatitis, anti-malaric, healing, among others. The main use of these species is in the extracts form and essential oils extracted from the leaves and stem. Highlighting the importance of this family on the pharmacological point of view and the fact that few studies in the literature have reported the characterization of the essential oils compounds and their respective biological activities. The objective of this study was to carry out a systematic review of previous studies on essential oils of the Canellaceae family species and their biological activities. The databases Scopus, Web of Science and PubMed were used for the search and a bibliographical manager was used. A total of 143 files were analyzed, of which 21 presented the phytochemical analysis and / or essential oils biological activities of these species. Few species have been studied so far, such as Canella winterana, Cinnamosma fragans, Cinnamosma madagascariensis, Cinnamodendron dinisii. It can be observed that the major constituents for these species essential oils were: 1,8-cineol, linalool, limonene, alpha and beta-pinene. And that the main proven activities were: antibiotic, antifungal, insecticide, larvicide, trypanocidal, cytotoxic, molluscicide, immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory and anticonvulcionate. From this literature review, it was possible to identify species that have not yet started studies and possible activities of their essential oils, mainly due to the almost homogeneous presence of the major constituents, making possible new research as well as projects and programs.

Race has been one of the most controversial subjects studied by scholars across a wide range of disciplines as they debate whether races actually exist and whether race matters in determining life, social, and educational outcomes. Missing from the literature are investigations into various ways race gets applied in research, especially in higher education and student affairs. This review explores how scholars use race in their framing, operationalizing, and interpreting of research on college students. Through a systematic content analysis of three higher education journals over five years, this review elucidates scholars’ varied racial applications as well as potential implicit and explicit messages about race being sent by those applications and inconsistencies within articles. By better understanding how race is used in higher education and student affairs research, scholars can be more purposeful in their applications to reduce problematic messages about the essentialist nature of race and deficit framing of certain racial groups.
