An ulcer is a break in the continuity of the covering epithelium- skin or mucous membrane. Trophic ulcer is a kind of nonspecific ulcer. Wound healing is a mechanism where the body attempts to restore the integrity of the injured part. A clear wound heals earlier with a minimum scar as compared to contaminated wound. Several factors affect the normal process of wound healing such as the site of ulcer, vascular insufficiency, malnutrition, neurological deficit and drugs like corticosteroids. AcharyaSushruta mentioned 60 Upakramasfor the management of Vrana, Kashay Are among them. With NyagrodhadiKashaypatient was treated successfully and after the follow up ulcer was healed completely and the patient showed marked improvement. A case report of 26-year young male presented with an ulcer over the left foot which was painless, slough on the floor and loss of sensation over the distal 2/3rd of left foot has been presented here.

Objective: To report a case of young male with stroke and bilateral internal carotid artery (ICA) dissection. Background: Cervical Artery Dissection in Stroke Study trial has provided some insight on management of patients with ICA dissection. However, there is a need to modify the management strategies as per specific clinical scenario. Design/Methods: Case report and literature review. Results: A 45-year-old male presented with 1 month old history of acute onset numbness of right half of the body with slurring of speech. Computed tomography angiography showed complete occlusion of left cervical ICA just beyond origin with presence of fusiform dilatation and spiral flap in right extracranial cervical ICA. The patient was started on antiplatelets and taken for endovascular procedure using 2-mesh-based carotid stents. Patient was discharged after 3 days on antiplatelet therapy. At 1-year follow-up, there were no fresh symptoms. Conclusion: This case emphasizes the role of successful endovascular management of carotid dissection in a young male. These clinical situations may not be fully represented in trials, and a case-based approach is required.

This case study illustrates a brief, intensive, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for a young male client with a specific phobia of dogs and comorbid autism spectrum disorder (ASD). CBT has been shown to be an effective treatment for anxiety in children with ASD; however, this work has not often been extended to children with language impairment. This case study presents significant modifications to one-session treatment (OST) for specific phobia to make it applicable to a child with minimally verbal ASD. The intervention included four 3-hr treatment sessions conducted over the course of four consecutive days. Assessment sessions were conducted before treatment, and 1 week and 3 months following treatment. The client’s phobia symptoms decreased following the intervention at both the posttreatment and follow-up sessions. The Reliable Change Index (RCI) was calculated to evaluate changes from pretreatment to posttreatment and follow-up and demonstrated a clinically significant decrease in phobia symptomology following intervention. The results suggest the potential efficacy for a brief, intensive, and concentrated CBT treatment for a child with minimally verbal ASD and a severe phobia.

Introduction: A wound can be defined as the discontinuity in skin or mucus membrane. Healing is nothing but neogranulation in the depth and neo-epithelialization at the edges of the wound which ultimately results in the complete repair of such discontinuity. This case report deals with a patient of traumatic large wound at the heel who receives Unani management for wound healing. He was diagnosed as avulsion of pad of right heel with type-II diabetes mellitus. The treatment plan included mechanical debridement, cleaning with solution of alum powder (Sufuf-e-zaaj/alusol) and dressing with Marham-e-raal. The patient was advised to continue oral hypoglycemic agent with subcutaneous injection of insulin. On 85th day of treatment, the wound was healed by almost 98% and on subsequent 1st and 2nd follow up, each with a gap of 15 days, no recurrence of wound was recorded. Methodology: A male patient of traumatic wound was taken into study and given Unani management plan which included debridement, cleaning and washing with solution of Alum powder (Alusol)/ or, in Unani, Sufuf-e-zaaj and dressing of the wound with Marham-e-raal with full aseptic precautions for a period of about 3 months. Discussion: Wound healing is credited to muhallil(anti-inflammatory), daf’eta’ffun (antimicrobial), mujaffif (desiccant) and mundamil (wound healing) properties of Marham-e-raal due to presence of several phytoconstituents like camphor, linalool, borneol, cineole, terpenoids, Bergenin, Phenols and flavonoids, hopeaphenol, Oligostilbenoids, Monoterpenes, kaempferol, Quercetin and Catechin. Result: The wound completely healed at the end of 3 months with no recurrence noted on the 15th day of follow up after complete healing.

This case study describes a recent learning activity involving pharmacy undergraduate students in which a final (fourth) year student trained 21 second year students to administer questionnaires about antibiotic resistance to over 700 student users of a large university building. The aim was to raise awareness of the problem of antibiotic resistance.  The second year students were also trained to correct any misapprehensions held by the questionnaire participants about antibiotic resistance, and to encourage them to become "Antibiotic Guardians". Finally the 22 students analysed the data to give a picture of what the other students understood about antibiotic resistance.  Peer-assisted learning therefore cascaded from a single fourth year student to 21 second year students and then to 700 students from various disciplines and year groups.  The first stage of the cascade was evaluated and the 21 second year students overwhelmingly believed that their knowledge of antibiotic resistance was enhanced.  A follow-up study using the same questionnaire will be used to determine whether the exercise was effective in raising awareness of antibiotic resistance among the body of students surveyed.

ABSTRACT :- Endometrial is inner lining of uterus. Hyperplasia is excessive growth of cells. Endometrial Hyperplasia is excessive cell growth or thickness of inner lining of uterus. Endometrial hyperplasia is excessive or abnormal thickening of the lining of the uterus, which is most probable cause of Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding (DUB). In most of the cases, it is benign in nature. The treatment of endometrial hyperplasia of uterus is mainly done by hormonal treatment (especially by progesterone) and by surgical treatment such as hysterectomy, which are having their own side effects. Ayurveda is a health care system sensitive to women’s special health needs. Women are far more sensitive to the rhythms and cycles of nature, Ayurveda is founded on the principle of keeping the body toned in time with nature, and naturally, women find Ayurveda very suitable. In Ayurveda, Endometrial hyperplasia of uterus can be correlated with Lohitakshara Yonivyapada. The present case revealed the Raktastambhaka, Shothhara evum Tridoshahara properties of some Ayurvedicmedicines viz. Pushyanuga Churna, Ashokarishta and Dashamoola Kashaya in a known case of DUB due to endometrial hyperplasia with Bulky Uterus. After 3 months of treatment sonography report showed no hyperplasia of uterus. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES To evaluate the efficacy of Shamana Aushadhi in the management of Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding (DUB) due to Endometrial Hyperplasia MATERIALS AND METHODS It is a case study of the subject of 35 yrs age with Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding (DUB) due to Endometrial Hyperplasia who has been treated with Shamana Chikitsa. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION The subject is on follow up and without any medicine on normal cyclic rhythm till date with overall feeling of wellbeing. There is improvement and no evidence recurrence of Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding and Endometrial Hyperplasia. CONCLUSION The selected treatment protocol i.e. Shamana Aushadha is very effective in the management of Endometrial Hyperplasia KEYWORDS – Ayurveda, Lohitakshara Yonivyapada, Endometrial Hyperplasia, Raktastambhaka Drugs
