Leadership is a leader's way of influencing subordinates with certain characteristics so that they can achieve the desired goals. One of the factors for the success of a leader depends on the leadership techniques used in creating situations that cause the people they lead to arise awareness to carry out what they want. In other words, whether a leader is effective or not depends on how his ability to manage and apply his leadership pattern under the situation and conditions of the organization. Feelings related to job satisfaction and dissatisfaction tend to reflect the worker's assessment of current and past work experiences rather than expectations for the future. So it can be concluded that there are two important elements of job satisfaction, namely job values and basic needs. Work values are the goals to be achieved in doing work tasks. What is wanted to be achieved are work values that are considered important by individuals. It goes on to say that work values must match or help fulfill basic needs. Thus it can be concluded that job satisfaction is the result of labor which is related to work motivation with the degree of importance of job aspects for individuals. An individual will feel satisfied or dissatisfied with his work, which depends on how he perceives a match or contradiction between his desires and the results he gets. This research method is the method of exploration and verification, the analysis tool is structural equation modeling (SEM, PLS). The results showed that the influence of the Covid-19 crisis leadership style on job satisfaction has implications for company performance.

The present paper evaluates the effect of transformational leadership on job satisfaction and change commitment along with their interconnected effects (mediation) on cooperative conflict resolution (management) in customer service activities in Taiwan. The multi-source samples consist of data from personnel serving at customer centers (workgroups), such as phone service personnel, customer representatives, financial specialists, and front-line salespeople. An empirical study was carried out using a multiple mediation procedure incorporating bootstrapping techniques and PRODCLIN2 with structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis. The results indicate that the main effect of the leadership style on cooperative conflict resolution is mediated by change commitment and job satisfaction.

PurposePrevious studies have found that abusive supervision undermines employees' work motivation and attitudes, namely work engagement and job satisfaction. However, less is known about the mechanisms by which abusive supervision negatively relates to employees' work engagement and job satisfaction. Drawing on conservation of resources theory, this study examines employee silence as a mediating mechanism linking abusive supervision to employees' work engagement and job satisfaction.Design/methodology/approachSurvey data were collected from a sample of 233 full-time employees of a large hotel service company in Taiwan. Structural equation modeling analyses were conducted to test the hypotheses.FindingsThe results showed that abusive supervision has a positive association with employee silence. Moreover, the results showed that employee silence mediates the negative associations of abusive supervision with employees' work engagement and job satisfaction.Practical implicationsThe results suggest that organizational managers should provide supervisors with leadership interventions to prevent the occurrence of abusive supervision. Furthermore, organizational managers should provide employees with opportunities to voice their concerns through the use of organizational communication and participation, which can reduce employee silence and subsequently foster employee engagement and satisfaction at work.Originality/valueThis study advances our understanding of how abusive supervision results in poor work motivation and attitudes among employees. This contributes to the literature by identifying employee silence as a suitable mediating mechanism linking the negative associations of abusive supervision with employees' work engagement and job satisfaction.

In order to improve and maintain competitiveness in the hotel sector, the key elements of success must be available, which is headed by an efficient employee, so it is essential that the employees' performance be at its best. This study examined the effect of job satisfaction (JS) on job performance (JP), organisational structure (OS) and leadership style (LS) on (JS), and Quality of work-life (QWL) on (JP) among five-star hotels employees in Jordan. The study also examined the moderating role of quality of work-life on the variable’s relationships. A questionnaire was used as the main instrument for data collection from 430 employees of five-star hotels. Data analysis was conducted with the help of Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) to determine the level of relationships among (JS), (OS), (LS), (JP), and (QWL). According to the obtained findings, there is a positive relationship between JS and QL on JP, and QWL has a partial moderating role in the relationship between JS and JP. The study findings motivate future studies to carry out studies of the same caliber in other sectors of Jordan, and also in other contexts based on different perspectives.

Purpose Technology makes knowledge management easier. Knowledge sharing is essential for organizational development. Job satisfaction fosters knowledge sharing. Hence, this study aims to develop an understanding of the mutual relationship between knowledge sharing and job satisfaction when both are predicted by information technology (IT)-competency dimensions such as IT-operations, IT-knowledge and IT-infrastructure in the context of company performance. Design/methodology/approach The results were achieved based on the examination of 910 Polish knowledge workers with different roles and experiences across various sectors. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling method. Findings The findings suggest that the company’s IT-competency drives job satisfaction and knowledge sharing more strongly for IT industry knowledge workers than for other industries. Also, a stronger mediation function of knowledge sharing and job satisfaction is observed for IT-operations when the IT industry is controlled. Originality/value The main value of the study is the empirical evidence that the influence of a particular IT-competency dimension varies for industries when it comes to job satisfaction and knowledge sharing processes.
