The translocation of “problem-animals” is a common non-lethal strategy to deal with human-wildlife conflict. While processes of wildlife translocation have been widely documented, little is known about the social repercussions that take place once the capture and the return of a problem-animal to its natural habitat fail and it has to be permanently placed in captivity. We investigated how the public, an important stakeholder in wildlife conservation, perceived the translocation of a female jaguar to a wildlife captivity center. The objectives were to (1) assess the public's perceptions (e.g., attitudes, emotions, awareness) toward the jaguar and its translocation process, and (2) how these psychological constructs are related. We used the social media profiles of the three institutions involved in the process (one responsible for the jaguar rescues, one that supported its recovery, and the one responsible for the jaguar's final destination) and analyzed the comments left by their followers on posts related to the jaguar and the translocation itself during 25 days. A total of 287 comments were analyzed through coding, a categorizing strategy of qualitative analysis; 33 codes were identified. Results showed high admiration for the work done, positive attitudes and emotions, and concern toward the animal. Lack of awareness about the translocation process was high, with comments of curiosity toward the situation being one of the most commonly found. To a lesser extent, people felt sad for the jaguar not being able to return to the wild and criticized the need for translocation. Admiration for the work had a strong relation with gratitude and broader positive perceptions toward the jaguar's story. Criticism related to concern, which was also related to a need for more information and curiosity. Our findings suggest that the public who engaged with those institutions through their Instagram accounts were grateful for seeing the jaguar safe, but were not aware of the complexity of the operation nor about the nature of the conflict with farmers. The public can either reinforce a particular action or jeopardize an entire operation, depending on their perceptions of the matter. In the case of this jaguar, the public held a positive view; however, we acknowledge the limitations of our sample and recommend further analyses of social repercussions among people who are not followers of these organizations. Furthermore, we recommend engaging other stakeholders to fully understand the human dimensions of translocating this jaguar. Finally, for social acceptance, we highlight the importance of transparency and reliability of the organizations operating the translocation.

Orientalists' objections to the concept of jihad is a most popular debate among the researchers because it is being interlinked with the terrorism. This debate is in a strong relation with the concept of Jihad which is the most highlighted issue by the orientalists. Terrorism as it is a hot issue of our time and struggles by the orientalists’ groups to declare the word of Jihad as terrorism needs to explore this topic. This topic needs a multi sided study but this paper is limited to an analytical study of Orientalists' objections to the concept of jihad.

In the field of textile comfort of smart textiles, the breathability of the material is very important. That includes the flow of air, water and water vapours through the textile material. All these experiments are time consuming and costly; only air permeability is much faster and economical. The research is performed to find correlation between these phenomena of breathability and to predict the permeability based on only the air permeability measurement. Furthermore, it introduces a new way of expressing the Ret (water vapour resistance) unit according to SI standards as it is connected with the air permeability of garments. The need to find a correlation between air permeability and water vapour permeability is emphasised in order to facilitate the assessment of clothing comfort. The results show that there is a strong relation between air permeability and water vapour permeability for most of the textile material.

By collecting data from a sample of Iraqi companies, the purpose of this study was to look into the impact of integrating quality cost and value stream costing on competitive advantage in Iraqi industrial companies. Quality costing helps management in lowering costs and preventing non-added costs, whereas value stream costing assists in tracing costs through production lines and enhancing cost Consumption, , both of the systems mentioned above assist in reducing production costs while increasing production efficiency, hence increasing competitive advantage. To achieve the research objectives, a quantitative method has been used, with a questionnaire with closed-ended questions distributed online to a sample of (100) managers and accountants in Iraqi industrial companies. The study concluded that there is a statistically significant, positive, and strong relation between the integration of Quality cost and value stream costing in Iraqi industrial companies, and that these two systems are complementary. The researchers recommend that in Iraqi industrial companies, Quality Cost be used in conjunction with Value Stream Costing in order to improve the use of the establishment's resources thus reducing costs to improve competitive advantage.

Objective: Our work aimed to study the relationship between LPL variants D9N, G188A, N291S, and 93 T/G genes and CAD in Saudi patients. Materials and Methods: We recruited 253 CAD patients, who underwent diagnostic coronary angiography, and 207 control subjects. Several biochemical and behavioral markers were obtained, and different genotypes of LPL variants, D9N, G188E, N291S, and 93 T/G, were detected using The PCR-RFLP method. Results: The current study found D9N genotypes, AA, AG, and GG in 71.14%, 23.72%, and 5.14% in CAD patients, respectively. the AA, AG, and GG control genotypes were found in 81.64%, 16.43%, and 1.93%, respectively. The OR of the D9N AA versus AG genotype with a 95% CI was determined to be 1.65 (1.04–2.65), (p = 0.035). The OR of the D9N AA versus AG + GG genotype with a 95% CI was 1.80 (1.16–2.81), (p = 0.009). A strong relation of the D9N AA was observed with CAD. For the G188E, N291S, 93T/G variants insignificant were observed in both CAD and control groups. Conclusion: This study revealed the D9N variant has an association with CAD; however, no relation was detected between CAD and G188E, N291S, and 93T/G variants in the Saudi patients.

An important goal of status determining of Matras Tourism Village in 2010 was in order more people took participate in development programs of the local tourism sector. The relevant  findings of previous research were that the socio-economic characteristics including knowledge and perceptions associated with participation. The purposes of the research were to study the socio-economic characteristics and perceptions, to study the shape and the level of participation, and to study the relationship between socio-economic characteristic and perception toward participation. The research was categorized as survey research that used purposive-snowball sampling. The data were analyzed by descriptive-qualitative, Scoring, Crosstabs, Chi-Square, and Spearman's Rank. Overall, 47,73% of respondents have moderate perception level. While, 38,64% of respondents have low participation level. All indicators were positively related to the participation, except for the age and the number of dependents (negatively). However, the relationship strength were different. The informal education, tourism knowledge, perception of institutional and funds budgeting were strongly related to participation (sig. 99%). While, the perception of planning product, object/attraction of tourism, support facilities, opportunity and competitiveness described sufficiently-strong relation to participation (sig. 95%).

The process of ethanol dehydration via pervaporation was performed using alginate membranes filled with manganese dioxide and a mixed filler consisting of manganese dioxide on magnetite core MnO2@Fe3O4 particles. The crystallization of manganese dioxide on magnetite nanoparticle surface resulted in a better dispersibility of this mixed filler in polymer matrix, with the preservation of the magnetic properties of magnetite. The prepared membranes were characterized by contact angle, degree of swelling and SEM microscopy measurements and correlated with their effectiveness in the pervaporative dehydration of ethanol. The results show a strong relation between filler properties and separation efficiency. The membranes filled with the mixed filler outperformed the membranes containing only neat oxide, exhibiting both higher flux and separation factor. The performance changed depending on filler content; thus, the presence of optimum filler loading was observed for the studied membranes. The best results were obtained for the alginate membrane filled with 7 wt.% of mixed filler MnO2@Fe3O4 particles. For this membrane, the separation factor and flux equalled to 483 and 1.22 kg·m−2·h−1, respectively.

Abstract Background: Fluoride, a necessary mineral element for our health, is widely presented in drinking water and foods. The intake of excessive fluoride showed potential risk to human health. A strong relation between fluoride exposure and obesity has been reported. However, the knowledge on the potential mechanisms on fluoride-induced obesity is still limited. Results: In this work, we showed here that fluoride alone did not induce obesity in normal diet fed mice, whereas, it could trigger exacerbation of obesity in high-fat diet (HFD) fed mice. Fluoride impaired intestinal barrier and activated Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) signaling to induce obesity, which was further verified in TLR4-/- mice. Furthermore, fluoride could deteriorate the gut microbiota in HFD mice. The fecal microbiota transplantation from fluoride-induced mice was sufficient to induce obesity, while the exacerbation of obesity by fluoride was blocked upon gut microbiota depletion. The fluoride-induced bloom of Erysipelatoclostridium ramosum belonged to Erysipelotrichaceae was responsible for exacerbation of obesity. In addition, a potential strategy for prevention of fluoride-induced obesity was proposed by intervention with polysaccharides from Fuzhuan brick tea. Conclusions: Overall, these results provide the first evidence of a comprehensive cross-talk mechanism between fluoride and obesity in HFD fed mice, which is mediated by gut microbiota and intestinal barrier. E. ramosum was identified as a crucial mediator of fluoride induced obesity, which could be explored as potential target for prevention and treatment of obesity with exciting translational value.

Solar Tracking Systems are useful to increase the generation efficiency of photovoltaic technology, mainly for concentration technology, where dual-axis is required on account of the high accurate alignment to the Sun. Even when there exists a strong relation between tracking error and energy efficiency, multiple technological and research developments have sought to solve these problems independently. The present research proposes a novel concurrent design methodology for optimizing the overall performance of two-axis trackers, allowing to keep a balance between the tracking error and the energy consumption from the design stage, from an optimization approach. The concurrent approach was implemented to design a Solar Tracker as a solar monitoring system, was compared with four commercial systems, obtaining a similar pointing accuracy with a mixed tracking error of 0.0942°. The system has the best energy balance, consuming only 0.9641% of the energy generated for the tracking action, below commercial models. Finally, a CO2 impact analysis was carried out, where the proposed tracker obtained the lowest value, with 25.7018 g. The results support the developed concurrent strategy for the optimization of the overall performance of dual-axis systems, allowing us to find a harmonic balance between the energy consumption and the required tracking accuracy.

Entrepreneurship is the key determinant for economic growth because it maximizes wealth of the nation by creating new businesses based on innovation and disruptive ideas. The success of entrepreneurial venture relies on proper understanding of its ecosystem, i.e., various elements or factors associated with entrepreneurship. This paper has tried to uncover various elements of the entrepreneurial ecosystem based on the model developed by Isenberg in 2010 and how they impact on entrepreneurship. This is a literature based reflective article where various literatures are referred to link the connection between entrepreneurship and its mainly six domains: Policy, Finance, Culture, Support, Human Capital, and Markets. Literatures have shown the strong relation and impact of these domains on entrepreneurial activities but to clear the level of impact, further studies are necessary. Similarly, there is also an avenue to explore the connectivity between these domains itself.
