This study aims to compare the variability and convergence of strategic food prices before and during the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. The weekly prices data of 9 food commodities in 34 provinces during 2019 and 2020 was used. The price variability and convergence are analyzed using the coefficient of variation and dynamic data panel, respectively. The result showed that the rice, beef, red chilies, chicken meat, and chicken eggs experienced a decrease in price variability while sugar, shallots, garlic, and cayenne pepper exhibited the opposite. Prices movement among regions tends to show increasing price variability, with the exception of chicken eggs. Some efforts such as supply management through structuring production over time, efficiency of distribution between regions is imperative to stabilize food prices. Besides, efforts such as a market contract system, warehouse receipt systems and strengthening Local Government-Owned Enterprise for food supply management are crucial.

This aim of the research is to test whether the decreasing productivity of the workers results in decreasing of the nominal wage of the production worker under the supervisor. Statistical data of BPS was used in this research. The research data is consist of the nominal base and over time wage of the production worker under the supervisor, productivity of workers, and capital intensity. Furthermore, this research used regression analysis with OLS estimation method. This regression analysis was based on the dynamic panel data model. Finally, this study used redundant coefficient test to reduce several insignificant regression parameters in order to get a parsimony model. The results of the research as follow: (1). the decreasing productivity of the workers does not result in decreasing the nominal base wages of the production workers under the supervisor. (2). the decreasing productivity of the workers results in decreasing of the over time wages of the production workers under the supervisor.

In Indonesia, the increase in food prices usually results in the rise in the inflation rate. To cope with this problem, a better food distribution among regionsis absolutely required. This study aimed to describe the dynamics of food prices, to test the convergence level of food prices and to analyze the factors that influence the changes in food prices between regions in Indonesia. The data used were obtained from the Central Agency of Statistics and the Ministry of Agriculture from  2002 to 2010. The method used was analysis of dynamic panel data (First Difference-Generalized Methode Moment/FDGMM). The results of the study showed that all commodities of food prices were convergent, sugar at the highest level and rice at the lowest, while the factors that influence changes in food prices were production rate, Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and population.  Keywords: Convergence, Food Prices, GMM Panel Data

PurposeThis paper seeks to identify some of the most important drivers of Portuguese local government transparency in their activities over time. The recent literature on good governance has repeatedly identified transparency as central to promoting accountability, preventing corruption and mismanagement and stimulating greater civic engagement. As local government is the main provider of many primary services to the population, evaluating its transparency is especially relevant given that misconduct or maladministration will have a strong impact on the population's well-being. Given increased diffusion of European good governance norms and practices, the authors believe the Portuguese case to be relevant across the EU.Design/methodology/approachThe authors develop a dynamic panel data model to evaluate the simultaneous influence of both political and contextual variables on the municipal transparency index (MTI) in 308 Portuguese municipalities during the period from 2013 to 2017.FindingsThe results suggest support for previous studies that found increased Internet enabled transparency in municipalities with low levels of indebtedness (per capita), are more highly populated, are governed by left-wing parties, demonstrating higher levels of financial efficiency. The urban/rural status, measured by population density, is not a significant predictor.Originality/valueThe paper seeks to confirm earlier analyses of these same data over a longer period of years to substantiate the validity of those findings. This is important especially in the context of the political variable, to demonstrate it was not necessarily a particular collection of left-wing mayors, but that the relationship holds over time, across administrations, because the dataset covers two election periods.

This study integrates the theory of multiple selves within the theoretical framework of dynamic motivational activation (DMA) to identify the dynamic patterns of multiple self-concepts (i.e., the potential self, the actual self) in multitasking (e.g., primary and secondary activities) in daily life. A three-week experience sampling study was conducted on college students. Dynamic panel modeling results suggest that the self-concepts are both sustaining and shifting in daily activities and media activities. Specifically, the potential and actual selves sustained themselves over time in primary and secondary activities, but they also shifted from one to another to achieve a balance in primary activities over time. Interestingly, secondary activities were not driven by the alternative self-concept in primary activities, but instead, by the emotional experiences of primary activities. Furthermore, the findings identified that multitasking to fulfill their actual self did not motivate people to re-prioritize their potential self later.
