As the E-Learning 2.0 system is a tool to help members manage knowledge in an effective way, this study attempts to verify the constructs of knowledge creation self-efficacy, subjective norms, perceived usefulness, organizational climate, attitudes toward knowledge sharing and the intention to engage in knowledge sharing. A sample of 284 participants from companies in China that have already implemented E-Learning 2.0 systems participated in this study. Structural equation modeling is conducted to test the research hypotheses. Research results show that (1) Knowledge creation self-efficacy, perceived usefulness and organizational climates are found to have positive effects on the intentions toward knowledge sharing in E-Learning 2.0 systems; (2) Meanwhile, system success factors of communication quality and service quality are suggested to influence the perceived usefulness of E-Learning 2.0 systems; (3) As we expected, the intentions toward knowledge sharing in E-Learning 2.0 have positive effects on knowledge-sharing behavior. Therefore, by highlighting the role of the organizational climate, the findings of current research provide practical insights for understanding how organizations should reinforce fairness, innovativeness and affiliation to create a climate of reciprocity.

AbstractOur purpose was to examine the cognitive processes that influence involvement in physical activity among 100 adolescents, 55 boys and 45 girls, ranging in age from 12 to 18 years, with trivial, mild, or moderate forms of congenital cardiac disease. We hypothesized, first, that the severity of the congenital cardiac malformation itself has an indirect effect on self-efficacy regarding physical activity, and that the relationship between the two is mediated by the recommendations of the cardiologist and the attitude of the mother. Second, we argued that self-efficacy serves as a mediating variable between the recommendations of the cardiologist and the attitude of the mother, on the one hand, and involvement in physical activity, on the other. The results confirmed both hypotheses. In a population of adolescents with trivial to moderate congenital cardiac malformations, beliefs in self-efficacy, rather than severity of the disease, were the most influential factors in determining whether or not adolescents will engage in sports or other physical activities. We also demonstrated the importance of the role played by the recommendations of the cardiologist in determining both the attitudes of the mother and the belief in self-efficacy of the adolescents.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine perceived self-efficacy of users within an interactive video retrieval context. The motivation for this research includes that understanding self-efficacy will provide insight on how potential users target resources and in turn promote and sustain use of retrieval tools and systems. Design/methodology/approach A survey method was employed. In total, 270 participants rated levels of perceived self-efficacy for successfully fulfilling different video needs if using a particular system. Perceived self-efficacy was explored quantitatively, both overall and across different potentially influential factors, such as topic type, topic familiarity, system experience, and system context. In addition, open-ended responses on the survey were categorized through content-analysis and subsequently analyzed using weighted frequencies. Findings Findings demonstrated significant associations between participants’ perceived self-efficacy and different topical factors, including familiarity and topic type, and also system factors, such as exposure (or experience) and system context. Research limitations/implications User confidence is one belief or attitude about technology acceptance, with self-efficacy intersecting multiple factors related to initial and sustained use of technologies. Findings give researchers a look at users’ preconceptions of interactive video retrieval situations, which, in turn, suggest positive implications for future research and design. Originality/value Video retrieval comprises considerations that are unique from other contexts due to the structure and physical makeup of video. However, until now, self-efficacy has not been directly examined in relation to video or according to several of the specific retrieval factors as explored in the current study, which is thus warranted.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has been regarded as a public health emergency that caused a considerable degree of public panic (such as anxiety and insomnia) during its early stage. Some irrational behaviors (such as excessive search for information related to the pandemic and excessive hoarding of supplies) were also triggered as a result of such panic. Although there has been plenty of news coverage on public panic due to the outbreak, research on this phenomenon has been limited. Since panic is the main psychological reaction in the early stage of the pandemic, which largely determines the level of psychological adaptation, time of psychological recovery, and the incidence of PTSD, there exists a demand to conduct investigation on it. From a public governance perspective, the government’s assessment of public panic may affect the efficiency and effectiveness of pandemic prevention and control. Therefore, it is of obvious practical significance to investigate public panic during the COVID-19 pandemic and analyze its influential factors. The self-compiled COVID-19 Social Mentality Questionnaire was used to collect data from a total of 16,616 participants online, and 13,511 valid responses were received. The results from the chi-square test showed that there were differences in gender, educational level, age, pandemic-related knowledge, self-efficacy, risk level, and objective social support. Furthermore, multiple linear regression analysis results showed that self-efficacy, gender, educational level, age, risk level, pandemic-related knowledge, and objective social support were significant predictors of public panic. Among the research variables, self-efficacy, gender, educational level, and age were negative predictors of panic while risk level, pandemic-related knowledge, and objective social support were positive predictors of panic.

The lifestyle of adolescents who migrate to work and college will largely determine their future. Concerns about economic conditions can cause problems with their behavior. This research has aimed to explore the most influential factors on Financial Behavior among graduate students in Indonesia. The Primary data collected by distributing questionnaires using a Likert scale. There are 239 samples have collected based on the combination of purposive and convenience sampling methods. The study used descriptive statistical techniques and path analysis techniques for data analysis. Based on path analysis results, study findings indicate that there is a significant influence of financial knowledge on financial self-efficacy; financial self-efficacy and financial knowledge on financial behavior; financial attitude and financial self-efficacy on financial behavior but there is no significant influence of financial knowledge on financial behavior. The study results also showed that adolescent habits are still not good but can be improved through education such as character education and achievement of a better motivation to deal with economic problems. The study recommended that the good habits can be passed on to friends of his age, especially adolescents so they can have a good future. JEL Classification Codes: F36, G02, A23.

This descriptive research study was conducted to determine the self-efficacy of the public school teachers in conducting action research; their attitude towards action research and identify the possible factors that hindered teachers from doing action research & their influence level. The study was conducted in the different public schools in Magsaysay, Occidental Mindoro from May to July 2016. The public school teachers from the Department of Education-Magsaysay District were purposively selected as the respondents of the study. The study adopted and modified the Attitudes toward Research (ATR) scale and self-efficacy test to suit the needs of the research objectives. Descriptive statistics such as mean, frequency and percentage were used to describe and quantify the variables. The result shows that the public school teachers in Magsaysay, Occidental Mindoro have an "average" level of research self-efficacy. They tend to hold "positive" attitudes toward research. The "very high" influential factors that hindered teachers from doing action research were work over-load which leaves little time or no time for conducting research, lack of practical training/experience in how to do action research and lack of research centres and research specialist in school or division.
