This article analyses organizational dynamics as the set of factors that allow an organization to evolve, survive and compete in a global competitive environment. This learning process is interpreted along three dimensions: knowledge management, change management and innovation management, and is contextualized within the current framework of the knowledge society of the information age. Entrepreneurship is interpreted as a positive and necessary attitude for innovative managers who wish to direct effective organizations. The information age and the knowledge society paradigm demand a holistic and systemic approach that is, in itself, the justification for the broad perspective taken in this article. The author also briefly reviews learning theories and management models that focus on the learning organization paradigm – that of knowledge management.

Learning does not take place in a vacuum. Learning takes place in any type of environment, including online. The purpose of this article is neither to solely study active learning for its own sake nor to present an analysis of active online learning. It is rather an attempt to examine the relationship between active learning online and learners’ intellectual growth and development. Towards this end, this article’s background covers active learning and learners’ intellectual growth and development. The next section is devoted to how various learning theories can make active learning occur online; hence, learners’ intellectual growth and development. The last section of the article seeks to make a summary of this article and point out some future directions for active learning online. As modern institutions launch more and more online learning programs, what concerns educators and parents is whether active learning will occur online. Unless active learning occurs online (or growth and development occur online), online learning will lose its true meaning in this knowledge society and information age we currently live in.

The study aimed to measure the degree of availability of the learning organization’s dimensions and their applications in Fakeeh College for Medical Sciences, by identifying the degree of availability of the learning organization’s dimensions, identifying the areas of application of the concept of the organization, and identifying the obstacles to implementing the concept of the learning organization at Fakih College of Medical Sciences from the respondents ’viewpoint. and to achieve this goal the researcher used the descriptive-analytical approach. She prepared a questionnaire and was distributed to a randomly selected sample, consisting of (100) administrators and faculty members, in the College Fakih for Medical Sciences, and the arithmetic averages and standard deviations were used, and the study concluded with a set of results, the most important of which are: There are three dimensions for the learning organization at Fakeeh College for Medical Sciences from the point of view of its employees to a large degree, namely (level of learning, empowerment of workers, level of technology application). While there are two dimensions for the learning organization in the Fakeeh College for Medical Sciences with a medium degree, they are (the organization's environment, the level of knowledge management). The study recommended that learning be taken care of at all levels and including it within the training programs to acquire its various skills, and to establish an effective methodology for knowledge management that includes knowledge activities such as (finding and acquiring and storage, transfer, retrieval and application of knowledge), and work to increase the cognitive skills of workers, through communication with various Saudi academic organizations Develop their cognitive abilities.

For almost 20 years, research on firm level innovation have relied upon [Lawson and Samson (2001). Developing innovation capability in organisations: A dynamic capabilities approach. International Journal of Innovation Management, 5(3), 377–400] concept of innovation capability (IC). Of note, these authors stated that this concept needs to be ‘refined, validated and tested using other research methods’ [Lawson and Samson (2001). To date, empirical studies heeding this call have been challenging to find. By researchers relying on this untested concept, they risk not attaining comprehensive insights into the firm level mechanisms underpinning the transformation idea and knowledge into innovations. This paper proposes a rethinking of the IC concept. The analysis is based on survey data of 69 firms involved in the Australian maritime industry using exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The results suggest that the IC concept might be refined from seven dimensions, initially conceptualised, to three dimensions. The three dimensions are renamed as institutionalising innovation, implementing innovation and stimulating innovation.

The aim of this article is to describe the relationship between theoretical knowledge management assumptions and knowledge management process involving Models and Awards for Management Excellence in Latin America.  Relevant literature was reviewed by carrying out a survey based on document analysis involving requirement of models and awards for excellence in management in the following countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Mexico. This research study used qualitative data-collecting methods by means of a content analysis technique, carried out between February 2013 and December 2014.  The corpus was treated by using a content analysis technique, where categories of analysis were codified based on criteria, items and management process requirements of the models investigated. The findings show that the mains theoretical knowledge management assumptions are present, in some degree, in models of management excellence in Latin America, but highlight the fact that these models present different structure and maturity levels, some of which combine knowledge management with strategic perspectives and innovation management. This survey made it possible to produce consistent analyses based on pre-existing models that consider knowledge management as the basis of organization.

Applying KM and organizational innovation will significantly enhance organizational performance and achieve strategic goals in the information age.

Este estudo tem como objetivo analisar as características das publicações sobre Knowledge management (Gestão do conhecimento) e Innovation management (Gestão da inovação) na base de dados Web of Science, no período de 1945 a 2015. O trabalho descritivo e quantitativo, de natureza bibliométrica, busca levantar as características da produção acadêmica. Como principal resultado das 372 publicações analisadas constatou-se que os anos com maior publicação foram os de 2008 e 2015, em especial nas seguintes áreas temáticas: Business economics (Economia Empresarial), Operations research management science (Gestão de Operações), Engineering (Engenharias), Computer science (Ciência da Computação), Information science library science (Ciência da informação/biblioteconomia), Social science (Ciências Sociais). Os documentos são 66,6% proceedings paper, e o principal titulo é o International journal of technology management. Os países com maior número de produção são a China e os Estados Unidos, e o principal idioma é a língua inglesa.

The main responsibilities for the European Higher Education Area are based on processes‘ execution through the knowledge, therefore each institution has to evaluate its own knowledge and organize activities implementing these knowledge goals. Knowledge management (KM) is considered one of the main disciplines of the 21st century, which helps organizations to create a competitive advantage, to identify unique knowledge within the organization and to develop further knowledge creation and integration into activities. KM can be analyzed specifically, however it‘s recognized that human resources remain the most important factor, which leads to effective implementation of the stages of KM. Preparing trained staff for the knowledge society and economy, who are able to assess the benefits and importance of knowledge, higher education institutions (HEI) shape the future behavior of future market players, define the need for future competences and values. Following this example, it‘s useful to analyze, how KM processes are integrated into the academic community and which role the KM plays in the development of HEI‘s activity and competence.
