The polemic in the discussion of women's domestic and public roles is the inaccurate interpretation of gender in the perspective of social, economic, legal, political and religious construction. As a result, one of the sexes is marginalized and subordinated. Women and men are not placed as human beings who have equal opportunities. The error in interpreting the two roles of the human type is called gender bias. It is a must to carry out reinterpretation so that there is a shared awareness that there are equal opportunities and treatment in carrying out their duties as servants of God.

“Roman Assimilation of Greek Myths and Botany” traces the absorption of Greek botanical thought by the Romans. Although Roman thinkers—Cato the Elder, Varro, Virgil and Columella—wrote about agriculture, theoretical botany was largely abandoned, while the one—sex model of plants remained entrenched. Roman myths, many syncretized with Greek, reinforced the gender bias by which plants were associated with women. Chloris, Greek goddess of flowers, was assimilated to Flora, and Ceres to Demeter. Ovid recounts a story concerning Flora and Juno that symbolically connects flowers to parthenogenesis. Of Greek derived works on plants, only Pliny’s Historia Natura and Nicolaus of Damascus’ De Plantis were widely available in the Middle Ages. One interpretation of flowers by Pliny the Elder, that they were created to delight human beings, endured into of the Christian era, while St. Augustine sited the “degeneration” of plants grown from seed as “palpable evidence” for original sin.

Study of the products of Islamic law in Indonesia is often partial and focused on mainstream mass organizations. In fact, the existence of small and local organization that influence the dynamics of Islamic law in Indonesia, such as Wahdah Islamiyah. In response to the problems of the people, especially in South Sulawesi, this organization has been often condemned heretic wing, spreaders heresy and other negative charges. In fact, the style and the formulation of laws formulated emphasizes maqashid al-shari'ah, thus seem more flexible, visible, and dynamic. This negative accusations, is more likely due to political pressure, of the substance of the factors defined legal fatwa. Seeing the dynamic thinking of Islamic laws of community organi zation of Wahdah Islamiyah in its way to formulate some Fatwa by interacting with social, economic, political, cultural, localized, national and global reality is to enforce human beings’ welfare without ignoring nash. The interaction with social reality forms a way of thinking of Wahdah Islamiyah which leads to moderation and inclusive characteristics.

The purpose of writing/research to answers to legal problems experienced by female journalists in a gender perspective and to know strategy of legal protection for female journalists in the future. This type of research is normative legal research. The type of approach used is the statutory and conceptual approach. The results of this study showed that the problem of gender in media is more or less related to the position of marginalization and subordination for women in various fields, among others, the lack of involvement for women in journalism activities, legitimacy regarding gender bias, economic and political interests that dominate, regulation in media that is insensitive about gender and the gap between conventional and gender sensitive journalism. Prevention of protracted gender inequality concerning women, especially against female journalists, it is necessary to have a legal reconstruction considering that women are citizens in the development of women's resources certainly have the same position as men in terms of their position, their rights and obligations so as to get equal opportunities in various fields. Tujuan penulisan/penelitian adalah mengetahui jawaban mengenai permasalahan hukum yang dialami oleh jurnalis perempuan dalam perspektif gender dan mengetahui strategi perlindungan hukum terhadap jurnalis perempuan dimasa yang akan datang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian hukum normatif. Jenis pendekatan yang digunakan yaitu pendekatan perundang-undangan dan konseptual. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah studi kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa Permasalahan berspektif gender pada media menyangkut pada posisi marginalisasi dan subordinasi bagi perempuan diberbagai bidang antara lain, sedikitnya keterlibatan bagi perempuan pada aktivitas jurnalisme, legitimasi mengenai bias gender, kepentingan ekonomi dan politik yang mendominasi, regulasi pada media yang tidak sensitive mengenai gender serta kesenjangan antara jurnalisme konvenssional serta sensitive gender. Pencegahan ketimpangan gender yang berlarut-larut mengenai perempuan khususnya terhadap jurnalis perempuan maka perlu adanya rekonstruksi hukum mengingat perempuan merupakan warga negara dalam pembangunan sumber daya perempuan tentu mempunyai kedudukan sama terhadap laki-laki dalam hal kedudukannya, hak-haknya serta kewajiban-kewajibannya sehingga memperoleh kesempatan yang sama dalam berbagai bidang.

The sustainable agriculture in Costa Rica must recognize the need of intensifying the productivity as a way to support the increasing demand created by the population growth, but at the same time it has to prevent the best use and conservation of the natural resources. Without natural resources there is no agriculture and without it there isn’t food support. It’s hoped that Costa Rica can satisfy the growing demand of food and other agriculture products; avoiding the fast process of degradation that our soils and forest are suffering. The sustainable agriculture process in Costa Rica and other countries of the region presents an increasing demand of land and natural resources; which causes social, economic and ecological conflicts and competence. This is why Costa Rica must organize a strategy of sustainable development that contemplates the effects of the demographic growth, food support, biodiversity protection, ecosystem regeneration, development of friendly technologies with the environment, regulation on the use of natural resources and the formation of better thought human beings.

This paper will try to decipher some of the contemporary issues related to the root of the problem of gender bias in the study of Islam. Among the issues which form the basis of the emergence of gender bias in the study of Islam is the First, the issue of the creation of Eve in Sura al-Nisa verse 1. Second, the issue of leadership of women over men. Third, Woman and Sin Heritage. From this context, it can be understood that the teachings of Islam do not subscribe to the ideology that prohibits female lead, also bebrabai myth tentan creation of Eve. Because, it all would give a heavy burden on women. Like the myth of menstruating women as though he had not seen and treated as human beings, because in addition to be consigned should also perform various hard rituals.

The global, social, economic and technological conditions of the 21st century are drastically changing the way societies and education policymakers understand the goals of education. Pedagogy has always been about how to pass on the knowledge, skills, values, and development of one's personality to the next generation, to create the conditions for growth that meet everyone’s needs and provide equal opportunities. However, today this issue has become more relevant than ever as the world is changing very rapidly, society, its values, and needs are changing, as confirmed by the UNESCO goals for 2030.Young, pointing out that in many countries education policy neglects what knowledge a student needs today, creates a theory of "Powerful knowledge" based on the work of educational sociology authors such as Durkheim, Bernstein, Bourdieu. The goal of this paper is to conduct a literature review of the concept of 'powerful knowledge'.Since the year 2009, this term has been described in many articles but is still in development. Analyzing the works of Young and Muller, as well as getting to know works of other authors who complement and develop the concept (Wheelahan, Lambert, Deng, etc.) and those who are more skeptical (White), the definition and features of Powerful Knowledge have been revealed and scientists' thoughts on what makes knowledge "powerful", why it is needed, what place it can play in school curricula have been collected, as well as highlighting questions that have not yet been answered clearly.

Ampa Co’i Ndai is a practiced tradition among Suku Mbojo[1] (Bimanese ethnic) where the resource of bride-payment is from the brides, wholly or partially, but it is named after the groom during the declaration of marriage contract. The tradition is, usually, applicable if the social, economic, and/or educational status of brides are higher than that of grooms. Whereas, the ideal expectation of culture and religious norms position men as superior human beings. Gender analysis observes that the tradition is a compromise of the ideal expectation and the real fact of gender relation. In the gender intersectionality’s view, the tradition shows that the male-female relationship should not only be explained merely based on the sexual differences but should be examined comprehensively along with other social categories such as economic, social and educational status. Gender status should be seen as a cross-cutting issue which is inseparable with multi identities of human being. In this article, I propose a unitary vision that links vulnerability and autonomy together. The aim is to rethink a number of crucial issues related to justice. Firstly, I undertake an in-depth consideration of human vulnerability. By human beings, I understand instances of “embodied consciousness”, who inhabit the placedness of the world not simply by living in it but also by living on it. Openness, exposure and exchange are ontological features through which human beings both receive and cause harm and injuries, but also receive and cause enjoyment and fulfillment. Secondly, I point out that the condition of human interdependency does not require us to give up the demand to pursue “autonomy”. On the contrary, autonomy needs to be rethought, by presenting it as something that is constitutively relational. Finally, I argue for the centrality of issues concerning justice, for human beings develop by constantly establishing relations with human and non-human alterities. The model of subordination, though, should be avoided. My aim is to go beyond the sterile opposition between context perspectives emphasized by care ethics and universalistic approaches endorsed by the ethics of rights. The goals are to build a world where everyone can live one’s ontological inter-dependency without paternalism or subordination, can be protected from avoidable vulnerabilities and have the opportunity to develop and to perform one’s autonomy. This raises issues about the distribution of goods in the social-economic sphere, but also on the management of social infrastructures and the recognitional practices in societies: which are all always placed.

Abstract Covid-19 is re-defining life globally. Human beings are trying to address the social, economic and political implications of the pandemic through various policy initiatives. But, the psychosocial impact of the pandemic remains implicit and hence unaddressed. The pandemic has upended the psychosocial equilibrium of society. It is crucial to restore this lost equilibrium through effective psychosocial management of the pandemic. This study tries to establish the need for such an approach and suggest ways for accomplishing the same. In the first part, an attempt is made to review the psychosocial impact of the pandemic. The second part undertakes a case examination of the acclaimed ‘Kerala model’. The model specific individual, community and institutional level initiatives that helped in effective pandemic management are analysed. Such case specific explorations can help to develop Psychosocial Response models. This can serve as a standard guideline for dealing with future emergencies and help mainstream psychosocial wellbeing. Such models can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of community to manage future emergencies.

In an analysis of Thomas Middleton’s A Chaste Maid in Cheapside, this chapter argues that theatre made it possible for people to see that conversion was as much a process of introspection and self-discovery as a series of material transactions that allowed—or forced—human beings into different social, economic, and spiritual states. These transactions were not simply the result of a cynical attempt to turn the tide in pursuit of an unscrupulous benefit (be it social or economic). They were also a way to navigate the processes of conversion itself—the many passageways and alleys that linked the City of God and the Earthly City.
