The objective of multi years study was to formulate an alternative organic based fertilizer by mixing a fresh manureand phosphate rock with several different grain sizes conducted in the Field Experimental Station of the Universityof Lampung. Both materials of the fresh manure and phosphate rock were obtained from local sources. Five levelsof mixture of fresh manure and phosphate rock, three levels of grain size of phosphate rock, and two kinds ofcomposting technique were factorial set up. The mixture materials were aerobically composted for 12 weeks. Theresults of the first year study show that (a) the optimum ratio of the mixture of fresh manure and phosphate rock was80% to 20% with the optimum of grain size of phosphate rock < 3 mm; (b) 6-8 weeks of incubation of the mixturematerials has been optimally composted under aerobic conditions of the complete mixture of batch compostedtechnique; (c) the quality of the final produced compost was considered to fulfill the requirement of standard criteriaof organic fertilizer; while (d) the quantity of compost recovered up to 75.07% which was a reliable quantity of massproduction of organic fertilizer.[How to Cite: Nugroho SG, Dermiyati, J Lumbanraja, S Triyono, H Ismono, YT Sari and E Ayuandari. 2012. Using the early maturing peach variety 'Japan Matsusen' as the test material, nine groups of formula fertilization schemes were set up by orthogonal experiment to study the effects of different fertilization treatments on the quality of peach fruit, in order to obtain the best fertilization formula to improve fruit quality. The results showed that the quality of peach fruit was significantly improved by adding organic fertilizer to the base fertilizer instead of chemical fertilizer. Therefore, by adding organic fertilizer as the base fertilizer, reducing the application amount of chemical fertilizer, and adding other trace element fertilizers can effectively improve the quality of peach fruit.

Plants are naturally growing on the soil without hampering the eco-friendly environment. Intensive cultivation of crops with high yielding verities (HYV) hampering the soil health resulting unfertile soil. In addition, frequent uses of chemicals as well as overdose of synthetic fertilizer creating hazardous environment for the living things. However, to meet up the demand of foods as well as other basic requirements of increasing population of the world crop cultivation techniques need to be modernized. To overcome this situation, application of organic fertilizer need to apply regularly. Biochar can be a good source of organic fertilizer and it is currently using to improve the soil health globally. To examine the effect of biochar on jute growth and yield an experiment was set up in two different locations (Jute Agriculture Experimental Station (JAES), Manikganj, and Jute Research Sub Station (JRSS), Jashore of Bangladesh) during the period from August to December, 2019. Results revealed that location (JAES) had significant and positive effect on jute physiology and seed yield and as well as seed quality. Among fourteen treatments, treatment T2 (Recommended dose of fertilizer (RDF)) showed the highest plant height (163.5 cm), base diameter (7.44 mm) and pod per plant (16.5) compare to the rest treatments. Treatment T6 (RDF 75% + 25%[email protected]) showed the best seed weight (2.13 g) and seed yield/ plant (3.98 g) among all treatments. Interaction among treatments and locations, T2 x L2 affected seed germination (99%) and field emergence (92.33%) positively. From this research it was cleared that biochar alone may not enough but combination is required for improving jute seed yield and quality.

AbstractHighly doped μc-Si:H samples with a wide range of crystalline volume fractions and grain sizes have been investigated by Hall-effect experiments. We present an experimental set-up with a current modulation technique and a 6-pole contact geometry which allows the measurement of the Hall-effect on highly doped μc-Si:H down to 10K. The experimental results exhibit a clear correlation between the mobility μ and the grain size δ. Further, the results show that the transport in μc-Si:H can not be described by thermal emission over grain boundaries alone, additional transport paths, e.g. tunneling processes through the barriers have to be taken into account.

The use of organic fertilizers in agricultural production can not only increase soil fertility but also at the same time improve soil quality. Organic fertilizer is a unique product because it can improve physical properties, chemical, and biological soil as plant growth media. These characteristics bring the organic fertilizers into a valuable product that can be used in a variety of use. Today in Indonesia, there are so many outstanding varieties of organic fertilizer products either refined or imported products. Monitoring of the quality and feasibility of organic fertilizer materials is needed, so they will not harm the farmers as consumers. Each country develops criteria standard of organic fertilizer valuing each country's interest. United States, Canada, Australia and Europe use different compost quality criteria tailored to the needs and environmental rules that apply. So far in Indonesia rules used in determining quality is Permentan No. 02/Pert/HK.060/2/2006 which was then updated with Permentan No.28/PERMENTAN/OT.140/2/2009 on Organic Fertilizers and Soil Ameliorant. Basically, the appraisal made on the maturity and quality of organic fertilizers is based on observation of physical, chemical, and biological parameters. Review of the criteria used in the Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture was necessary in considering the criteria used which are very harmful to consumers, such as if it is satated that C-organic content is approximately 12%, which is low, it means that there might exist some follow-up materials such as glass, plastic in the fertilizer about 2%. If the rules are maintained, it will be very detrimental to Indonesia because of invasion from over seas. Import organic fertilizers would be siege to Indonesian farmers. Permentan No.28/PERMENTAN/SR.130/5/2009 has also set up institutions in charge of monitoring the quality of organic fertilizers. However, the quality control must be carried out. It is not only at the level of the end product, but it must also begin from the moment of the production process by establishing a supervisory agency competent. Since organic fertilizers can be produced by large industries, small and medium-scale farmers, the level of supervision is needed with different approaches. Keywords: organic fertilizer, quality, processes and controls

Deoxidized High Phosphorus (DHP) Copper tubes are frequently used in numerous industrial and household applications. To ensure the acceptability of DHP copper tubes prepared by various industrial processes, the quality of the DHP copper tubes must be evaluated and one of the best ways to do so is to examine the microstructure and metallography and quantify grain size. In this paper the authors considered the average grain size of copper tube samples made traditionally as well as by the planetary rolling and CastTube process. Because of the small thickness of the CastTube samples, in certain circumstances traditional methods of grain counting were not plausible and a new procedure for grain counting needed developed. This paper is about the development and evaluation of grain sizes in continuously cast tube samples using both the planimetric procedure (ASTM E112) and a new method, which will be herby, referred to as the total grain counting method. This paper also concludes that there is a large difference in the grain size of tubes with different manufacturing methods.

Pure titanium TA1 foil with a thickness of 0.05mm under different grain sizes were carried out by the DT-C539 micro-stamping machine in the laboratory. The size effect of the pure titanium TA1 foil with grain sizes of 3, 7, 9 and 23 microns respectively on surface morphology of the microstamping sample were studied. It is found that the stamping samples with good surface quality can be obtained on the condition that the grain size is 23 microns and the stamping speed is 1mm/s. VORONOI model was established by using ABAQUS, NEPER and MATLAB software. Heterogeneous finite element simulation was carried out for the micro-stamping process under the same conditions. The results showed that the simulation results were more consistent with the experimental results.

At production of fabrics, including fabrics for agricultural purpose, an important role is played by the cor-rect adjustment of operation of machine main regulator. The quality of setup of machine main controller is determined by the proper selection of rotation angle of warp beam weaving per one filling thread. In the pro-cess of using the regulator as a result of mistakes in adjustment, wear of transmission gear and backlashes in connections of details there are random changes in threads length. The purpose of the article is the research of property of random errors of basis giving by STB machine regulator. Mistakes can be both negative, and positive. In case of emergence only negative or only positive mistakes operation of the machine becomes im-possible as there will be a consecutive accumulation of mistakes. As a result of experimental data processing for stable process of weaving and the invariable diameter of basis threads winding of threads it is revealed that the random error of giving is set up as linear function of the accidental length having normal distribution. Measurements of accidental deviations in giving of a basis by the main regulator allowed to construct a curve of normal distribution of its actual length for one pass of weft thread. The presented curve of distribution of random errors in giving of a basis is the displaced curve of normal distribution of the accidental sizes. Also we define the density of probability of normal distribution of basis giving errors connected with a margin er-ror operation of the main regulator knowing of which allows to plan ways of their decrease that is important for improvement of quality of the produced fabrics.
