Agribusiness has played a strategic role for Brazil's development with the challenge of sustainable agriculture. It is proposed to determine, through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), the validity and effects of the relationships between socioeconomic factors of the sugarcane production system in Quirinópolis, providing subsidies to the decision-making process of agricultural establishments. The research methodological approach was quantitative, applying techniques of normality statistics, hypothesis and multivariate analysis without statistical significance (P <0,05). A path diagram model was developed that presented structural quality adjustment and its validated explanatory equations, obtaining relevant R2. The results demonstrate that the Equation 1 (IBCcane = 0.02Rcane - 0.75ICcane – 0.46ISVO + 0.35ISPS + error) is explained in 73.7% of its variance (R2), in the Equation 2 (ICcane = 0.59ISVO – 0.45ISPS + 0.35SizeEstablis + error) successor vocation affects 42% on production costs and in the Equation 3 (Rcane = -0.40 AgroDistance – 0.16ISPS + error) the distance between farm and agribusiness influences 72% on the proposed revenue mix. The SEM analysis verified that social factors influence the economic factors that compose the sugarcane production system studied. The path diagram proved that the influence track relative to the costs in the proposed model is more representative than revenue for the economic results of rural sugarcane establishments.

Validation of the sequencing of objectives is an important step in structural design. Prior statistical techniques, such as the reproducibility coefficient, have yielded only summary information. In contrast, structural equation modeling provides both goodness-of-fit indices and effect coefficients for links or paths between time-ordered events, i.e., objectives. Discussed here is the application of structural equation modeling to a set of objectives in a senior-level cardiovascular nursing course. Consistent with the theory-based requirement of structural equation modeling, the objectives were developed using Robert Gagné's conditions of learning. Also discussed is the use of “t” values, which indicate statistical significance of the paths, for testing instructional links in the learning model.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine the relationship between cooperative practices of accountability, cooperative ownership, advanced communication and non-financial performance in savings and credit cooperative societies. Design/methodology/approach The study uses a cross-sectional research design and adopted a mixed methodological approach were hypotheses were statistically tested using structural equation modeling based on survey data (n = 220) and narratives from qualitative findings supported the quantitative findings from savings and credit cooperative societies. Findings The findings reveal that cooperative practices of accountability, cooperative ownership and advanced communication are significantly and positively associated with non-financial performance of savings and credit cooperative societies. Originality/value This study provides empirical evidence on the relationship between cooperative practices of accountability, cooperative ownership and advanced communication and non-financial performance in savings and credit cooperative societies in emerging economies like Uganda. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, there is limited or no study that has used the construct of agency theory in explaining the relationship between cooperative practices and non-financial performance in savings and credit cooperative societies.

Even in highly developed food markets, aquaponic products have not yet been successfully introduced. This is particularly surprising, as aquaponics is an excellent example of a sustainable circulation food production system. The purpose of this empirical study was to determine the factors that influence consumers’ willingness to pay for aquaponic products. The direct and indirect relationships were tested via Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Primary data of 315 respondents from Austria were collected. The findings revealed that the willingness to pay for aquaponic products was significantly and directly driven by the purchase intention. As a result, the successful implementation of aquaponics in the market requires the provision of information for consumers. We suggest emphasizing the value of aquaponics as a sustainable food production system, since indirect factors that influence the willingness to pay are (besides the assessment of aquaponics) environmental awareness and green consumption.

This study uses the structural equation model in Nepali stock market, chooses investor sentiment, monetary and macroeconomic factors as latent variables, and selects a few observed variables which can explain the latent variables to study the influence on stock prices. Based on existing empirical research conclusion, influence path diagram is designed and gets its path coefficient and causal path diagram using maximum likelihood estimation. The statistical significance of the results indicated that the causal relationships of Nepal’s stock market as follows can be accepted; firstly, investor sentiment, macroeconomic indicators, and monetary factors have certain influence on stock prices, the investor sentiment has a positive correlation. Secondly, the investor sentiment has the major impact on stock prices; when investor sentiment is more stable and optimistic, stock prices will relatively be better. This research also provides certain reference to investors for rational investment decisions.

This study used Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to test the relationship between workload and fatigue dimensions, using data obtained from among Constant Velocity (CV) joints assembly workers in Mexico. Three years before this study, assembly workers had complained about how their job’s high workload had increased their levels of fatigue. The NASA-TLX and the Swedish Occupational Fatigue Inventory ware used to collect data on the effects of workload on fatigue from 116 assembly workers. A structural equation model was used to test five hypotheses associated on the effects of workload on lack of energy, physical effort, physical discomfort, lack of motivation, and sleepiness. All relationships were significant and had associated positive load factors. As a result, the modified structural equation model showed statistical significance, as well as good mode fitness. From these results, fatigue was supported as being substantially affected by the workload.

The paper aims to assess the influence of bank lending on the performance of enterprises in the real sector. The relevance of the study for different countries, including Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine, is shown. Structural equation modeling of the impact of bank lending on the performance of enterprises in the real sector is carried out using Ukraine as an example. Six key indicators of real sector enterprises’ performance for the period of 2007–2019 were selected as an information basis of the study. To assess the abovementioned impact, structural equation modeling was used, i.e., the Statistica program was selected as a software tool to evaluate the resulting model’s adequacy and determine the level of statistical significance of its parameters. The obtained results prove that the business lending sector in Ukraine has significant potential for its development, which ultimately will have a positive effect on the efficiency of the real sector enterprises. Moreover, adopting a balanced state policy in the sector of corporate bank lending can give impetus to the development of the domestic sector of real production and help Ukrainian enterprises overcome the crisis caused by COVID-19.

Penerimaan terhadap sistem teknologi informasi penting untuk dilakukan karena dapat menjadi indikator bahwa sistem akan diterima dan diterapkan oleh pengguna untuk mendukung proses perkuliahan di Akademi Keperawatan Pembina Palembang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh variabel model Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) 2 terhadap penerimaan sistem informasi akademik dan seberapa besar tingkat penerimaan sistem informasi akademik menggunakan model UTAUT 2. Untuk mengetahui penerimaan sistem informasi peneliti menggunakan semua variabel utama dan variabel moderasi umur, jenis kelamin, pengalaman. Data penelitian ini menggunakan 135 responden yaitu 113 sampel mahasiswa dan 22 sampel dosen melalui penyebaran kuesioner. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitumenggunakan metode Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) dengan menggunakan tool Lisrel versi 8.70. Analisis SEM memiliki tahapan yaitu: (1) konseptualisasi model (2) membentuk path diagram (3) identifikasi model (4) estimasi model (5) penilaian model fit (6) menginterpretasikan hasil. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa variabel espektasi kinerja berpengaruh sebesar (16.46), espektasi usaha berpengaruh sebesar (16.54), pengaruh sosial berpengaruh sebesar (14.85), motivasi hedonis berpengaruh sebesar (6.18), nilai harga berpengaruh sebesar (16.59), kebiasaan berpengaruh sebesar (15.94) terhadap niat perilaku. Variabel kondisi fasilitas berpengaruh sebesar (2.22) terhadap perilaku menggunakan. Variabel UTAUT 2 mampu mempengaruhi penerimaan sistem sebesar 9,4%.

It is shown that a minimal assumption should be added to the assumptions of Classical Test Theory (CTT) in order to have positive inter-item correlations, which are regarded as a basis for the aggregation of items. Moreover, it is shown that the assumption of zero correlations between the error score estimates is substantially violated in the population of individuals when the number of items is small. Instead, a negative correlation between error score estimates occurs. The reason for the negative correlation is that the error score estimates for different items of a scale are based on insufficient true score estimates when the number of items is small. A test of the assumption of uncorrelated error score estimates by means of structural equation modeling (SEM) is proposed that takes this effect into account. The SEM-based procedure is demonstrated by means of empirical examples based on the Edinburgh Handedness Inventory and the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire-Revised.

Abstract. Given the fact that most of the dark personality measures are developed based on data collected in low-stake settings, the present study addresses the appropriateness of their use in high-stake contexts. Specifically, we examined item- and scale-level differential functioning of the Short Dark Triad (SD3; Paulhus & Jones, 2011 ) measure across testing contexts. The Short Dark Triad was administered to applicant ( N = 457) and non-applicant ( N = 592) samples. Item- and scale-level invariances were tested using an Item Response Theory (IRT)-based approach and a Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach, respectively. Results show that more than half of the SD3 items were flagged for Differential Item Functioning (DIF), and Exploratory Structural Equation Modeling (ESEM) results supported configural, but not metric invariance. Implications for theory and practice are discussed.

Abstract. This study used a longitudinal data set of 5,672 adults followed for 50 years to determine the factors that influence adult trait Openness-to-Experience. In a large, nationally representative sample in the UK (the National Child Development Study), data were collected at birth, in childhood (age 11), adolescence (age 16), and adulthood (ages 33, 42, and 50) to examine the effects of family social background, childhood intelligence, school motivation during adolescence, education, and occupation on the personality trait Openness assessed at age 50 years. Structural equation modeling showed that parental social status, childhood intelligence, school motivation, education, and occupation all had modest, but direct, effects on trait Openness, among which childhood intelligence was the strongest predictor. Gender was not significantly associated with trait Openness. Limitations and implications of the study are discussed.
