China-US economic relation is of particular significance to the world economy. This paper aims to investigate how trade frictions influence Chinese stock market volatilities. Overall, trade frictions significantly increase large stocks' volatilities, whereas influences the SMEs differently before and after the 301 investigation. For the big caps (SSE50), opinion divergence has a partial mediation effect between trade frictions and market volatilities. Trade frictions lead to higher opinion divergence, and opinion divergence reduces market volatility before the 301 investigation and increases market volatility in Stages IV and V. This result is robust after controlling the endogeneity of opinion divergence. For the small caps (SMEs), the mediation effect has not been founddetected, but opinion divergence significantly influences stock volatility, negative before the Section 301 investigation, whereas positive after that.

As a resource-poor country, Japan depends much on imports of resource goods—foods, fuels, and crude materials—to keep its economy running. This dependence has increased over time, making Japan vulnerable to supply shocks. At the same time, demand shocks emanating from its domestic economy have come to exert a greater influence on the world economy. Because Japan exports almost wholly manufactured goods and imports largely resource goods, its bilateral trade balance ends up with a surplus with industrial economies and a deficit with primary-producing countries even when Japan's trade is globally balanced. This trade structure gives rise to trade frictions, especially with the United States. Unless the structure is altered fundamentally, Japan will find it increasingly difficult to fit itself into the world economy.

This study analyzes the impact of the process of IFRS adoption on earnings management in the emerging country that is probably the most important in the world economy that has adopted in full the IFRS, Brazil. We examine earnings distributions for discontinuities around thresholds before and after IFRS adoption for a sample of Brazilian listed firms for the period 2004-2011. The findings of this study reveal that discontinuities exist, both before and after IFRS implementation, and that there is a decrease in discontinuity. The results of our study suggest that mandatory adoption of IFRS by Brazilian companies is associated with a decrease in earnings management, in particular during the period of full adoption of IFRS (post-2010).

In the economy of Russia after the crisis of 2008–2009 systemic changes were occurred. In the period before this crisis, Russia experienced economic growth, which was faster than the growth rate of the world economy, then after the crisis, economic growth rates do not exceed the growth rates of the world economy. To identify the reasons and factors for changing the model of economic development of the country, a project for researching the economy before and after the crisis of 2008–2009 is proposed. It is proposed to receive quantitative assessments of the impact of economic, socio-economic, political factors and other significant factors that determine productivity, differing by region of the country, by building econometric models of productivity in the form of expanded production functions.

Introduction. Nowadays, both in the world economy in a whole and in the economies of the leading countries a major role play not individual entities, but their integrated structures. Thus, over the last 5 years, sales of the 2000 largest integrated business entities from 51 countries in the world have almost doubled, accounting more than 50% of the global gross domestic product. Taking into account the mentioned above, we can say that the problem of defining cluster foundations for the development of integrated business structures is urgent.Hypothesis of scientific research. All existing organizational forms of integrated structures vary greatly in nature, principles, goals of association, features of the organization, degree of integration of participants, the breadth of coverage of the spheres of production and economic activity, but the use of cluster principles of their organization allows to achieve a synergistic effect of development at a new level.Aim of this research is a study of the above problems within the global economy and across Ukraine. Methods of investigation: in the basis of the analysis procedures lies the modeling of financial and production activities of the group of companies before and after the consolidation on the basis of the cost-output model adapted to the characteristics of consolidated accounting in industrial companies.Results. A new cluster approach to the development of integrated business structures is proposed on the basis of the author's study of world economic practice. Conclusions: The formed matrix of estimation of degree of integration of participants of forms of separate subjects’ unification allows to choose one or another form of business integration depending on the goals which are set for them and the ways of achievement of these goals (for example, retaining or losing their legal, industrial and economic and financial independence).
