The research had as objective to study the influence of the doses of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium on soil fertility and nutritional status of yellow passion fruit plants. The experimental design was in randomized blocks in an incomplete fractioned factorial 1/2 (4 × 4 × 4), with four doses of N (150, 300, 600 and 1200 Kg-1 ha-1 yr-1 N); four doses of P2O5 (200, 400, 800 and 1600 kg-1 ha-1 yr-1) and four doses of K2O (100, 300, 500 and 700 kg-1 ha-1 yr-1). The fertilizers used were the ammonium nitrate = 32% N; triple superphosphate = 44% P2O5 and potassium chloride = 60% K2O. In the fertility of the nitrogen fertilization increased the content of phosphorus and sulfur. The doses of P2O5 increased the concentration of P in the soil. The doses of K2O influenced the increase in the content of K in the soil in the harvest 2013/2014. There was an interaction of the doses of N and K2O in the availability of K in the soil in the harvest 2012/13 with the maximum levels of K, in the doses of 200-400 kg N ha-1 and 600 to 700 kg ha-1 of K2O. In the nutritional state the yellow passion fruit plants was influenced by the doses of N for the sulfur content of the leaves. The maximum content of S leaf concentration of 3.63 g kg-1 was obtained in the dose estimated at 1120 kg ha-1 of P2O5.

E-mail: [email protected]     1 RESUMO   O experimento foi conduzido no município de Coronel Ezequiel, Rio Grande do Norte, para avaliar os efeitos do calcário calcítico e doses de K2O, na forma de cloreto de potássio, nos componentes de produção do maracujazeiro amarelo e no aumento da salinidade do solo provocado pela irrigação com água salina de 3,6 dS m-1 durante o período da aridez e na lixiviação dos sais do ambiente radicular das plantas promovida pelas águas do período chuvoso. Os tratamentos foram dispostos em delineamento em blocos casualizados usando arranjo fatorial 3 × 2, referente as doses de calcário de 1,4; 2,5 e 3,6 t ha-1, 80 e 160 kg ha-1 de K2O na forma de cloreto de potássio. Pelos resultados, a irrigação com água salina (3,6 dS m-1), em comparação com dados da literatura de plantas irrigadas com água de boa qualidade, não comprometeu a capacidade produtiva do maracujazeiro amarelo. Dentre os tratamentos, a combinação de 80 kg ha-1 de K2O com 3,6 t ha-1 de calcário calcítico proporcionou os maiores valores de massa média dos frutos, produção por planta e produtividade da cultura. Apesar da alta salinidade da água de irrigação elevar o caráter salino do solo no ambiente radicular das plantas durante o período da estiagem, as águas do período chuvoso e as condições físicas do solo proporcionam a lixiviação dos sais e possibilitam o uso de água com restrições salinas na agricultura.   Palavras-chave: Passiflora edulis, calagem, lixiviação de sais     CAVALCANTE, L. Treatments were arranged in randomized blocks using factorial design of 3 × 2, referring to three levels of limestone,  1.4, 2.5 and 3.6 t ha-1 and two potassium levels,  80 and 160 kg ha-1 in potassium chloride form. According to present results, irrigation with saline water (3.6 dS m-1), in comparison with data from the literature about plants irrigated with non-saline water, did no compromise the productive capacity of yellow passion fruit. Among the treatments, the combination of 80 kg ha-1 of K2O with 3.6 t ha-1 of limestone provided the fruits production with more mean mass, yield per plant and crop yield. Although the high salinity of the irrigation water increases the soil saline character on root environment of the plants during the dry season, the rainy season waters and the soil physical conditions provide the salt leaching and allow the use of water with saline restrictions in agriculture.   Keywords: Passiflora edulis, liming, salt lixiviation

The uptake and expense of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in grain sorghum was studied in a field experiment during the period 2017-2018. Hybrid EC Alize was grown under non-irrigated conditions. The applied nitrogen fertilization was in rates 0, 60, 120, 180, 240 and 300 kg N.ha-1. It was established that application of N240 and N300 let to high average uptake of nitrogen (212.0 kg N.ha-1) and phosphorus (125.2 kg P2O5.ha-1) in maturity. The higher removal of 159.9 kg K2O.ha-1 on average was observed at N180 rate. The expense of nitrogen for production of 1 t of grain increased in parallel with the nitrogen fertilization. The highest nitrogen expense of 39.7 - 45.3 kg N.t-1 grain was established when sorghum received 300 kg N.ha-1 and it exceeded the control by 38.8 in 2017 and by 53.6% in 2018. Sorghum plants used 15.5 - 16.6 kg P2O5 an average to form 1 t of grain and nitrogen fertilization in rates N60-N300 slightly affected the phosphorus expense. Nitrogen fertilization proven increased the expense of potassium for production of 1 t of grain compared to N0 control plants. The increase was by 8.3 -20.0% in 2017 and by 8.0 - 34.0% in 2018. Sorghum plants expensed 23.2 - 24.2 kg K2O on average to form 1 t of grain at nitrogen rates N180-N300. The strong positive correlation was established between nitrogen fertilization with N uptake (0.966**) and N expense (0.997**) and K uptake (0.820*) and K expense (0.870*).

Abstract The use of advanced seedlings associated with the annual cultivation of passion fruit are important management techniques for living with the fruit-hardening virus (FEV). However, this technology still needs information on nitrogen fertilization and spacing between plants, so that it is possible to recover crop’s productivity. The objective of this research was to identify the nitrogen dose (N) and the most suitable spacing for annual orchards installed with advanced seedlings (1.2 m high) of yellow passion fruit. The experiment was carried out in the field, in Mogi Mirim, SP, between October 2017 and July 2018. A randomized block design was used in subdivided plots; the treatments were doses of N in coverage such as 0, 60, 120, 180 and 240 kg ha-1 and spacing between plants of 2.0 and 4.0 m and 3.0 m between lines. The dose found for maximum production, 15.4 kg of fruit pl-1, and adequate physical-chemical quality of the fruit for the yellow passion fruit was 130.7 kg ha-1 of N. The most densified spacing, of 2 x 3 m, provided greater productivity and number of thousand fruits per hectare, respectively, 20.7 t ha-1 and 139.5 thousand fruits ha-1.

Growth with organic fertilizers has increased in recent years because of the beneficial effect of organic matter on intensely cultivated soils and the high costs of mineral fertilizers. In order to evaluate the effects of organic compost doses produced from family farming waste on the growth and nutritional status of the passion fruit, an experiment was carried out in a greenhouse at the Universidade Federal Rural da Amazônia, in Belém, State of Pará, in the period from March to June, 2012. The experimental design was completely randomized, with five treatments and four replications, with each experimental plot made up by a pot with a volume of 3.6 dm3 of soil and a yellow passion fruit seedling. Five doses of organic compost (0%, 15%, 30%, 45%, and 60%) were tested out of the total volume of the substrate. The compost was formed by mixing 10% poultry litter, 20% duck litter, 15% manioc husk, 15% cassava leaf, 15% bean straw, 15% rice husk, and 10% corn cob. The different amounts of organic compost were mixed in volumetric proportions of substrate of Yellow Latosol with a sandy texture, taken from the surface layer (0-20 cm). It was found that at 97 days, the best results were achieved at the dose of 60% of the compost. The content and accumulation of macronutrients in the foliar tissue of the yellow passion fruit plants followed this descending order: K > N > Ca > P > Mg ≥ S.

Yellow passion fruit is the most cultivated species in Brazil and requires high amounts of nitrogen and an adequate nutritional status to express its entire productive potential. In this sense, this study aimed to evaluate the effect of different sources and doses of nitrogen via fertigation on nutritional status and leaf chlorophyll of yellow passion fruit. The experiment was conducted from June 2013 to August 2014 in Gurgueia Valley, Cristino Castro county, Piaui State, Brazil. The experimental design was randomized blocks with four replications, in a 2 x 5 factorial design related to the application of two nitrogen sources (urea and ammonium sulfate) and five N levels (100, 200, 300, 400 and 500 kg ha-1 year-1). Six plants per replication were considered, totaling 240 plants, spaced 3 m between rows and 3 m between plants, and covering an area of 2,160 m2. At pre-flourishing, it was evaluated leaf chlorophyll index and leaf nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium and sulfur contents. Urea increases Ca and Mg leaf contents and reduces leaf S content in relation to ammonium sulfate. The increase in nitrogen fertilizing levels enhances leaf N and Mg concentrations. For Ca, the optimal ammonium sulfate dose is 296.30 kg ha-1.
