The information system (IS) occupies an essential place in public and private establishments and managers are constantly seeking to create value by implementing information systems that generate tangible and intangible gains. To do this, they are constantly investing in information systems to improve their performance and generate results. However, these managers are constantly questioning the relevance and effectiveness of these investments. The information system poses a problem of definition given that it is a multidimensional concept, and also of measurement. The objective of this paper is to review the literature on the different models for measuring the contribution of information systems to the performance of organizations, based on the resource theory and the behavioral approach in a processual perspective. This literature review allows us to identify and present these models, with a view to testing them in various contexts.

Depending upon how we look at it, Computer Cartography can be considered now to be twenty years old (the first contour map was produced about twenty years ago), or a dozen years (the first major project in Computer Cartography, the Canadian Geographical Information System was started in 1963). This is not to say that we started out from scratch twelve or twenty years ago. On the contrary, we had all the tools and all the power from different disciplines, including Computer Science, Geography, Cartography and the Survey Sciences. If we assume that every discipline has some milestones in its development, it has to be said that in Computer Cartography these milestones did not happen or happened virtually unnoticed by the discipline.

Geotechnology applied to conservation, disclosure and use of geoturistical attractive in Prudentópolis (PR, Brazil) ABSTRACT The geotourism is a segment of the touristic activity in natural areas which aims the conservation, the disclosure and the sustainable use of places where the geological, geomorpholocical and paleontological aspects of the physical environment stand out by their aesthetic, scientific, instructional, cultural or economic values. Aiming to contribute with methods directed to this tourism’s segment, this paper aimed to analyze the potential of digital mapping in conservation, disclosure and sustainable use of geological-geomorphological interesting places (geosites) in Prudentópolis (PR, Brazil), based on literature review, field works and digital cartographic data’s processing in Geographic Information System (GIS). The characterization of four geosites was verified, which are geologically inserted in Teresina Formation (Fall / São João River’s Canyon and Barão do Rio Branco Fall/ Patos’ River Valley) and in Serra Geral Formation (São Francisco Fall/ São Francisco River’s Valley and Chapéu’s Hill / Outbreak of Botucatu Formation). And the collected data were provided into information plans and georeferenced database in Arcgis 9.3 geoprocessing software, which has proved to be an important tool for developing cartographic products focused on geotourism activity. KEYWORDS: Geotourism; Natural Areas; Geotechnologies; Geoturistical Maps; Prudentópolis.

Alignment is a very wide subject that can be used to support an organization’s information system. Many authors have dealt with this topic according to various dimensions, including the operational alignment dimension. Our work aims to review approaches that discuss the operational alignment by reducing the gap between business requirement, business process, and software system. Therefore, this study was conducted by a systematic literature review (SLR). In the first step, we gather 1846 papers relative to the subject. In the last step, we filter those articles and select only the most pertinent ones, which leave us with 63 studies to focus on. These primary studies were analyzed according to 9 quality assessment criteria.

To the best of our knowledge there has been no study that has published a literature review of Internet advertising, online market places, and social e-commerce in the Information System discipline journals. Publishing such articles relating to literature reviews of online market places and Internet advertising is extremely important and essential for the following reasons: (1) to provide insights and understanding to social media and online firms on strategies that can be implemented to improve Internet revenues and click-through rates, (2) provide a comprehensive analysis of some of the most influential studies in Internet advertising and social e-commerce, (3) present some of the benefits and limitations of prior studies in Internet advertising and social e-commerce, (4) encourage scholars and researchers in all disciplines to educate and enlighten college students on what Information systems consist of, and (5) present techniques to measure the effectiveness of Internet advertising and the vast monetary value of Internet advertising.

In the past two decades, the use of digital libraries (DLs) has grown significantly. Accordingly, questions about the utility, usability and cost of DLs have started to arise, and greater attention is being paid to the quality evaluation of this type of information system. Since DLs are destined to serve user communities, one of the main aspects to be considered in DL evaluation is the user’s opinion. The literature on this topic has produced a set of varied criteria to judge DLs from the user’s perspective, measuring instruments to elicit users’ opinions, and approaches to analyse the elicited data to conclude an evaluation. This paper provides a literature review of the quality evaluation of DLs based on users’ perceptions. Its main contribution is to bring together previously disparate streams of work to help shed light on this thriving area. In addition, the various studies are discussed, and some challenges to be faced in the future are proposed.

The behavioural intention to accept information system technologies remains an interesting research field for information system management specialists and researchers. However, the cultural dimension has rarely been treated by researchers in the healthcare context. This paper focuses on identifying the impact of national culture on users’ intention to accept the Hospital Information System in public healthcare establishments in Morocco. Thus, we propose a research model which is based on a strong literature review, taking into consideration the previous studies’ recommendations and limitations. The proposed model was developed through the extension of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) (Davis, 1989), by Hofstede’s cultural dimensions.
