Glycerol from biodiesel is a potential raw material for synthesis of several products with high added value. The world demand and the market value of these products are important information for defining the best investment for the implantation of a biorefinery. The information is available on websites of social associations, production companies and market consulting companies and can be mined, free of charge. The International Trade Center (ITC), with information on world trade and websites linked to the foreign trade agencies of every country, such as Comex Stat, in Brazil, are relevant search sources. In this context, this work presents procedures and search techniques for prospecting such information. Such a procedure is illustrated through a case study for which a search of market parameters for glycerol and its derivatives was carried out for use in the process design and economic evaluation of an industrial plant. It was found that crude glycerol had a market price close to US$ 170/ton, in 2019. Among its derivatives, acrylic acid, acrylonitrile and 1,3-propanediol have great potential for the development of new processes, within the scope of a biorefinery. Industrially, acrylic acid (US$ 1100/ton) and acrylonitrile (US$ 1500/ton) are produced from propene (US$ 880/ ton) and 1,3-propanediol (US $ 2000/ton) comes from glucose (US$ 460/t) or ethylene oxide (US$ 1200/t), which encourages the development of new sustainable processes.

Discipline and leadership are the two main factors for companies to improve employee performance. Because without discipline and leadership it will produce unsatisfactory results. This study aims to determine and analyze the significant positive relationship between the discipline and leadership variables with the performance of employees at PT. Samsung Electronics Indonesia Surabaya Region. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to 50 employees of PT. Samsung at WTC (World Trade Center) Surabaya and interviewed employees directly. The research method uses the Rank Spearman correlation. The result of this research is that discipline and leadership have a positive and significant relationship with employee performance. Companies must pay attention to the discipline and leadership that the company has and improve it to improve the quality of employee performance for the better.

Processing shallots into fried onions is one of the agro-industry businesses with the main raw material of shallots. The fried onion home industry is a downstreaming of agricultural commodities by providing added value from the raw materials of shallots, in the process of production competition the industry must conduct management that will produce raw materials to ensure obtaining products. The purpose of this study was to determine the operating income of fried onions and determine the management of raw materials in the "Uda Saprudin" fried onion industry in Bengkulu City. The method used in this study is the calculation of income, R / C ratio, and management of raw materials using EOQ, Safety Stock, Reorder Points, lead time and total inventory costs. This research is a case study conducted in February 2019 with the data used is the data of the past year (2018). From the research results obtained R / C value of 1.36 and the management of raw material requirements recognized EOQ value: 6.546 Kg, Reorder Point value: 6.329 Kg / Month, lead time: 0.5 months and Total inventory costs: Rp. 163,676,047 per year.

The high added value is obtained by agro-industry entrepreneurs increase competition. An effort has made to increase profit  is processing spinach into spinach chips. The purpose of this study was to calculate the production basic price. Research was conducted from August to October 2018 in the home industry spinach chips in Mugirejo Urban Village, Sungai Pinang Subcity, Samarinda City. The data collected was primary and secondary data. Method of data analysis used the full costing method. The result of the study showed that the production costs incurred by home industry of the spinach chips monthly including raw material costs of IDR1,511,000.00; direct labor costs of IDR2,500,000.00; variable cost of factory overhead of Rp755,000.00; and fixed cost of factory overhead of IDR306.583,33. The calculation result of basic price monthly in household industry of spinach chips is IDR5,072,583.33. The monthly sales is IDR16,500,000.00 and the monthly profit obtained by the household industry of spinach chips is IDR11,427,416.67.

This study aimed to analyze the raw material procurement system based on six components, the performance and the added value of the palm sago agro-industry in Natar subdistrict of South Lampung Regency. The research was a case study in which location was chosen purposively in four Sago Aren Agroindustries by considerating that there were only four agro-industries that were still actively producing sugar palm sago in that area. The reseach data collection was conducted in March - April 2018 and analyzed by qualitative and quantitative descriptive and added value analysis. The results showed that the six components of raw material procurement namely time, place, quality, organization, quantity, and price in Sago Aren of Adi Putra, Oblak, and Surahmat Agroindustries were appropriate because they have been in line with expectations. There was still a component of material procurement standards that have not been matched or did not in line with the expectation in Kartim Agroindustry namely quantity. Production performance in the Sago Aren Agroindustries could be classified as good, because four of the five indicators in production performance namely productivity, capacity, quality, and speed of delivery were appropriate, while indicators of flexibility in the four sago palm agroindustry was not optimal, and the four sago palm agroindustry was feasible because it provided positive added value. Key words: sagu aren, performance, value added
