This paper conducts an analytical study on the urban-rural coordinated development (URCD) in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration (YRDUA), and uses data from 2000–2015 of 27 central cities to study the spatial and temporal evolution patterns of URCD and to discover the influencing factors and driving forces behind it through PCA, ESDA and spatial regression models. It reveals that URCD of the YRDUA shows an obvious club convergence phenomenon during the research duration. The regions with high-level URCD gather mainly in the central part of the urban agglomeration, while the remaining regions mostly have low-level URCD, reflecting the regional aggregation phenomenon of spatial divergence. At the same time, we split URCD into efficiency and equity: urban-rural efficient development (URED) also exhibits similar spatiotemporal evolution patterns, but the patterns of urban-rural balanced development (URBD) show some variability. Finally, by analyzing the driving forces in major years during 2000–2015, it can be concluded that: (i) In recent years, influencing factors such as government financial input and consumption no longer play the main driving role. (ii) Influencing factors such as industrialization degree, fixed asset investment and foreign investment even limit URCD in some years. The above results also show that the government should redesign at the system level to give full play to the contributing factors depending on the actual state of development in different regions and promote the coordinated development of urban and rural areas. The results of this study show that the idea of measuring URCD from two dimensions of efficiency and equity is practical and feasible, and the spatial econometric model can reveal the spatial distribution heterogeneity and time evolution characteristics of regional development, which can provide useful insights for urban-rural integration development of other countries and regions.

This study adopted the two-stage super-efficiency network slack-based model (SBM) to measure the green development performance index (GDPI) of 30 provinces in China. The Dagum Gini coefficient decomposition was used to analyze the regional differences and their sources in China’s green development performance. The results are as follows: first, the green development performance showed a declining trend from 1997 to 2017. The improvement of environmental governance efficiency was the key to achieving green development progress. The green development levels of coastal areas were significantly higher than those of inland provinces. Second, the regional imbalance in China’s green development performance was gradually worsening. The inter-regional differences were the primary source of the overall differences. The intra-regional difference of green development within the northwest was the largest. Third, among the eight regions, only the southwest region had σ convergence in green development performance; in addition, absolute β convergence and conditional β convergence were divergent, thereby confirming the regional imbalance of the widening regional differences in China’s green development performance. This study aimed to provide a scientific basis and effective reference for further advancing China’s regional coordinated development strategy.

Cities in an urban agglomeration closely interact with each other through various flows. Information flow, as one of the important forms of urban interactions, is now increasingly indispensable with the fast development of informatics technology. Thanks to its timely, convenient, and spatially unconstrained transmission ability, information flow has obvious spillover effects, which may strengthen urban interaction and further promote urban coordinated development. Therefore, it is crucial to quantify the spatial spillover effect and influencing factors of information flows, especially at the urban agglomeration scale. However, the academic research on this topic is insufficient. We, therefore, developed a spatial interaction model of information flow (SIM-IF) based on the Baidu Search Index and used it to analyze the spillover effects and influencing factors of information flow in the three major urban agglomerations in China, namely Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei (BTH), the Yangtze River Delta (YRD), and the Pearl River Delta (PRD) in the period of 2014–2019. The results showed that the SIM-IF performed well in all three agglomerations. Quantitative analysis indicated that the BTH had the strongest spillover effect of information flow, followed by the YRD and the PRD. It was also found that the hierarchy of cities had the greatest impact on the spillover effects of information flow. This study may provide scientific basis for the information flow construction in urban agglomerations and benefit the coordinated development of cities.

Production of sunflower oil are expected to serve larger and larger extent – over the demand of food industry and chemical industry – biofuel production. This could be especially true for that areas where climate is not allowed to grow winter rape safely and economically. Ecological role of honey-bees can be considered undoubtful in preservation of biodiversity of flora and fauna. I analyse the following problems in our study: • What is the significance of oil plants in European and Hungarian energy production? • How influence pollination the yields and the safety of production of oil plants? • What is the role of oil plants in the development of production structure of beekeeping? • What are the economical advantages of the above-mentioned effects?

Firstly, this article uses the Entropy method to calculate the weights of economic development and ecological environment indicators in the eastern urban agglomeration of Qinghai Province from 2005 to 2019. Secondly, this article uses the calculated weights and linear weighting functions to construct evaluation models for economic development and ecological environment development, respectively. The results show that the comprehensive development level of the economic development in the eastern urban agglomeration of Qinghai Province cities is gradually rising, and the comprehensive development level of the ecological environment fluctuates slightly but the overall development trend is increasing. Then, using the Environmental-Economic Coordination degree evaluation model, quantitative analysis and evaluation of the Environmental-Economic system coordination degree, it is found that the coordinated development of the economic and ecological environment of the eastern urban agglomeration in Qinghai Province is relatively well. Finally, it analysis and proposes countermeasures and suggestions to promote the coordinated development of the economic and environmental system of the eastern urban agglomeration in Qinghai Province.

It has been over ten years for the green chemistry and clean production became a popular research subject in China. The researchers have made astounding achievements in several sectors such as controlling pollution from the source, alleviating the influence of the chemical processes to the environment, contributing an important part to the development of modern chemical industry in China. The general scientific strategy research on intrinsic safety and clean production under the green chemistry framework is a must for China to develop a healthy chemical industry and to protect its environment. Through this research, we aim at establishing an effective and feasible scientific strategy for the coordinated development of clean production and intrinsic safety technology, extending beyond single research subject to get ideas and technology support from multiple academic sectors. Regarding the national science development strategy, we have put forward the coordinated development of intrinsic safety and clean production in combination with their common characteristics.

Restaurant kitchen refuse is usually discharged from families, schools, dining rooms and restaurants. A great part of municipal waste is kitchen garbage. Using to restaurant kitchen refuse produce energy could not only decrease pollution and obtain clean energy, but also develop recycling economy with most efficient use of resources and minimal contamination of the environment. Treatment of restaurant kitchen refuses and research progress of energy production from restaurant kitchen refuse are reviewed. Production of biodiesel and methane from restaurant kitchen refuse is introduced. This paper presents related policies and suggestions to develop energy production from restaurant kitchen refuse, so as to push ahead with coordinated development of the economy and environment.
