This study aims to examine the relationship between environmental regulation, technological innovation and the development of China’s marine fisheries. We make a theoretical overview of the relationship between environmental regulation, technological innovation and the development of marine fisheries. Using data from 10 coastal regions of China, we calculate the comprehensive development level of China’s marine fisheries in each region from 2009 to 2018 through the entropy method. Then, we use a double logit model to analyze the effects of environmental regulation and technological innovation on the development level of China’s marine fisheries, and further test the mediating effect of technological innovation. The results show that environmental regulations have a “U-shaped” effect on the development of China’s marine fisheries. Moreover, technological innovation is crucial in promoting the development of China’s marine fisheries. Further, we identify the mediating role of technological innovation, that is, environmental regulation affects the development of China’s marine fisheries by influencing technological innovation. These findings offer theoretical support for the development of China’s marine fisheries.

Schistosoma japonicum is prevalent in Asia with a wide mammalian host range, which leads to highly harmful zoonotic parasitic diseases. Most previous transcriptomic studies have been performed on this parasite, but mainly focus on stages inside the mammalian host. Moreover, few larval transcriptomic data are available in public databases. Here we mapped the detailed transcriptome profiles of four S. japonicum larval stages including eggs, miracidia, sporocysts and cercariae, providing a comprehensive development picture outside of the mammalian host. By analyzing the stage-specific/enriched genes, we identified functional genes associated with the biological characteristic at each stage: e.g. we observed enrichment of genes necessary for DNA replication only in sporocysts, while those involved in proteolysis were upregulated in sporocysts and/or cercariae. This data indicated that miracidia might use leishmanolysin and neprilysin to penetrate the snail, while elastase (SjCE2b) and leishmanolysin might contribute to the cercariae invasion. The expression profile of stem cell markers revealed potential germinal cell conversion during larval development. Additionally, our analysis indicated that tandem duplications had driven the expansion of the papain family in S. japonicum. Notably, all the duplicated cathepsin B-like proteases were highly expressed in cercariae. Utilizing our 3rd version of S. japonicum genome, we further characterized the alternative splicing profiles throughout these four stages. Taken together, the present study provides compressive gene expression profiles of S. japonicum larval stages and identifies a set of genes that might be involved in intermediate and definitive host invasion.

This study aimed to identify the role of effective planning in achieving sustainable development in Al Ain University, through illustrating the relation that links the integrative theoretical framework of each of the effective planning and sustainable development. The researchers applied the descriptive survey method to investigate the non-quantitative variables and analyze them through the questionnaire into measurable quantitative variables. The study population and sample comprised all the academic leaders in Al Ain University, to whom the researchers delivered (150) copies of the questionnaire. The study relied on secondary resources such as related books, studies, magazines, and periodicals. The primary resource was constructing a questionnaire related to the study subject, and based on the theoretical framework of the study as well as the previous studies. Two statistical software were used to process the obtained data namely, SPSS and AMOS, by applying the field study on the sample to analyze the correlational and causal relationships among the study variables. The results showed that there is a medium level of strategic planning in Al Ain University as seen by its Academics and that the university achieves a medium level of sustainable development as seen by the academic leaders. The results further showed statistically significant effects at (α≥0.05) level for the dimensions of effective planning in achieving sustainable development as a whole. The correlation coefficient (R) was (0.70), which is a statistically significant value that indicated a statistically significant correlation between the independent and dependent variables.   Received: 11 May 2021 / Accepted: 24 November 2021 / Published: 3 January 2022

In today’s era, shadow education is becoming an important form of education in the education system. The pursuit of shadow education among parents and the dependence of students on it heightens its value. However, with the continuous development of shadow education, its profit-seeking nature has begun to appear, and many educational problems are surfacing in the development process. This paper studies shadow education on the basis of Marx’s educational theories, such as the theory of all-round development and game theory. It analyzes the implications of shadow education which are not conducive to social or personal development, in order to continuously improve shadow education, provide better assistance for mainstream school education, and promote the comprehensive development of primary school students.

The article presents a visual and instrumental research of the technical condition of the main rock-cut structures and their masonry additions, the documentation of their damages (cracks, crevices, destructions and erosions) and deformations, thorough complete laboratory studies of rock samples and their physical and mechanical characteristics, conceptual approaches to preventive and reinforcing measures necessary for the further safe survival of structures, as well as the comprehensive development and implementation of measures to prevent further damages (elimination of causes) and ensure the long-term existence of structures. Based on the analyses carried out, it is recommended to use a ready-made dry mixture mortar of the “Mapegrout'' brand produced by the Italian company “Mapei” to fill cracks if necessary. It is available in the market of the country and is successfully used in the reconstruction of tunnels and other underground structures. The issues of compatibility of reinforcing materials with sandstone rock are also considered on the basis of some averaged data of the main decisive physical and mechanical characteristics of the strength and deformation of sandstone.

The article is devoted to the study of the qualification of criminal offenses. It has been established that this concept is used in criminal and criminal procedural legislation, but there is no formal definition of it. In the science of criminal law, there are different approaches to understanding the concept of qualifications. Based on the analysis of these approaches, the definition of the qualification of criminal offenses has been formulated. According to the author, the qualification of criminal offenses is a process of knowledge and evaluation by the authorized subject of the factual features of a socially dangerous act, isolation of legally significant ones and establishing their compliance with the legal features of a particular corpus delicti of criminal offense, including its distinction from other criminal offenses and from acts that are not criminally illegal, as a result of which the conclusion on the criminal law norm to be applied is substantiated and documented. The main methodological aspects of the study of the qualification of criminal offenses, such as praxeological, epistemological, axiological, hermeneutical, logical, practical, are highlighted. From the point of view of praxeology, the qualification of criminal offenses is considered as a special kind of human, and in particular legal, activity. In the epistemological aspect, the qualification of criminal offenses is the cognitive activity of the law enforcer. In the axiological aspect in the process of qualification the assessment of factual signs and the committed act as a whole is carried out, and also in the presence of estimation concepts in criminal law their maintenance is defined. The hermeneutic aspect of the study of the qualification of criminal offenses is to study the understanding and interpretation of criminal law. The comparison of the factual features of the committed act and the features of the specific composition of the criminal offense should be carried out using the laws, forms and methods of logic. The practical aspect of the study of the qualification of criminal offenses covers the material and procedural problems of accuracy, correctness of qualification in terms of content and form. It is concluded that the study of these aspects contributes to a deeper understanding of the concept under study. The multidimensional approach to the qualification of criminal offenses contributes to the further comprehensive development of qualification rules and substantiation of proposals for improving the practice of applying the criminal law.
