PurposeThis research aims to examine the relationship of personal innovativeness, perceived value (consisting of perceived utilitarian and hedonic value) and continuance intention in the context of ride-hailing apps and to investigate consumer behaviour differences between metro and non-metro consumers.Design/methodology/approachThe survey sample included 402 consumers of popular ride-hailing apps in Indonesia to test the research framework. Then, PLS-SEM-based software was utilised to examine the hypothesised relationship.FindingsThe findings indicate that the effect of personal innovativeness on continuance intention in using ride-hailing apps will operate through the full mediation role of perceived hedonic and utilitarian value, respectively. The findings also show that there are consumer behaviour differences between metro and non-metro consumers, in which the cognitive belief of consumers in the metro areas regarding the usage of ride-hailing apps is more related to hedonic value.Research limitations/implicationsThe variety of respondent demographic profiles in this research is limited in that most of the research respondents are students. In such a case, the study may face the issue of generalisation.Originality/valueThis research generates an extended idea of the information technology continuance model by validating the important role of perceived hedonic and utilitarian value as an integral part of the model and strengthens the insights that Indonesia has consumer behaviour differences regarding technology-based services, particularly ride-hailing apps, between metro and non-metro consumers.

The phenomenon of experiential shopping develops concurrently with another important and interesting one, namely the birth of Shopping Centre (Keng et al. 2007; Hedhli et al. 2013). Shopping can significantly contribute to improve people's quality of life. The satisfaction of these needs plays an important role in the general welfare of people (Deci & Ryan, 2002). However quality is the antecedent of satisfaction, and therefore of the welfare. Several studies have shown that a relationship of dependence between quality and customer satisfaction exists (Shanaki et al. 2012; Lai, 2015). The aim of this research is twofold: (1) understanding, what are the main reasons that lead consumers to shopping centre and (2) measuring the level of satisfaction and WOM in the different groups of customers. The results show that the quality factors of the shopping centre are essential to carry out the segmentation because the consumers' motivation and preferences are based on them.

Monitoring and supervision are essential practices of the school leaders to determine the various aspects of the school’s performance as well as teacher's competencies. This study aimed to determine the relationship between the monitoring and supervision strategies and practices of School heads and Master teachers and teachers’ competencies and skills in the new normal. The study employed a descriptive-correlational explanatory research design to determine the correlation between the variables. A stratified sampling method was utilized to select the respondents. A total of 385 teachers and 267 school heads and master teachers were the respondents of the study. A survey questionnaire was the primary data gathering instrument. Results of the study show that there is a relationship between the school heads and master teacher's practices and strategies. It also reveals that observance of school heads and master teacher's practices of monitoring and supervision of teachers has a relationship to teachers' competencies and skills. In addition, only staff development influences teachers' competencies and skills. The researcher recommended that the school heads and master teachers may continuously attend professional development activities to further improve some of their strategies and practices in monitoring and supervising teachers and to acquire strategies that are applicable and appropriate to the new normal; the school may offer and conduct activities that may improve and sustain the competencies and skills of teachers especially on the strategies and technology-aided materials and applications that can be used in teaching in distance learning.

The demographic profiles of consumers play a vital role in ascertaining the buying habits, sources of information, and other factors that may affect product/brand choice etc. One of the objectives of the present study therefore was also to identify the relationship of selected demographic variables viz. gender and age with green consumer behaviour. It is pertinent to such relationships, since India is an emerging economic powerhouse, and its middle class rising to prosperity. This study was therefore conducted to understand the age and gender factors influence on the consumer green behaviour. The subjects were contacted from the four directions of Udaipur city. The data on background information, green consumer behaviour was put to suitable analysis, to be precise, frequency and percentages, t-test and correlation analysis to draw the results.

The major factor of consumer behaviour in organised retailing is the changing buying behaviour. Various management thinkers have conducted several studies to understand the relationship of buying behaviour and organised retailing. Consumer behaviour is defined as the behaviour that consumers display in searching for, purchasing, using, evaluating and disposing of products and services that they expect will satisfy their needs. (L.G. Schiffman, L.L. Kanuk, 2005). Consumer buying behaviour is changes due to organised retailing sector which introduce in India in 2000 year. Slowly organised retail flourish in India year after year and till 2008 many malls and other hypermarkets open in many cities of India. In this sector some Indian players took the initiative and open their retail chains. For example Future Group opened Big Bazaar, RPG Group opened Spencer Store, Ruia Group opened Shoppers Stop in many cities Now-a-days employees have been hired, trained and remunerated in organised sector. In this respect the malls and hypermarkets provide job opportunities to many people in the country. The organised retailing changes a lot the “consumer buying behaviour” in the country. Under one roof the whole items related to each category available to the consumers in the shops. Times have changed people want a good shopping experience and this experience they feel in purchasing the products from malls, hypermarkets etc. The purpose of this study was to identify through hypothesis testing how consumer buying behaviour changes in organised retailing. The study was conducted using structured questionnaire on private and public sector employees. Chi- Square technique was applied and chi value was computed to test the formulated hypothesis in order to find relevance of consumer buying behaviour in organised retailing.

Purpose Exchange is often identified as the primary role of marketing. Consumer behaviour literature, therefore, focuses on uncovering the characteristics of decision-making styles of individuals that embrace consuming. However, recent global economic crises have led consumers to become increasingly frugal. Approaching frugality from the religious perspective, this paper aims to identify the deep-level diversities of frugal consumers in their quality consciousness tendencies, rather than simply equating both frugality and religiosity to non-consumption. Design/methodology/approach In this paper, a counterintuitive model has been offered that includes the positive moderating effect of religiosity on the relationship between frugality and quality consciousness. Using structural equation modelling, this paper tests the proposed model using a unique sample of 413 adults. Findings This paper extends the knowledge in the consumer behaviour literature by providing empirical evidence that religiosity positively moderates the relationship of frugality to quality consciousness. Further scrutiny showed that at high levels of religiosity, frugality positively affects quality consciousness. Originality/value This paper offers new avenues of research by highlighting the importance of not equating frugality and religiosity to low levels of consumption and abstinence from consuming. The dynamic nature of the growing Islamic economy requires both the scholars and practitioners to comprehend the consumers’ consumption preferences in markets where religious beliefs and frugality are well embedded into the culture. The paper sheds light on the literature pertinent to the examination of the relationship between frugality and religiosity by suggesting that the highly religious Muslim consumers’ frugality translates into quality consciousness.

The Mesozoic-Cenozoic coral Order Scleractinia has been suggested to have originated or evolved (1) by direct descent from the Paleozoic Order Rugosa or (2) by the development of a skeleton in members of one of the anemone groups that probably have existed throughout Phanerozoic time. In spite of much work on the subject, advocates of the direct descent hypothesis have failed to find convincing evidence of this relationship. Critical points are:(1) Rugosan septal insertion is serial; Scleractinian insertion is cyclic; no intermediate stages have been demonstrated. Apparent intermediates are Scleractinia having bilateral cyclic insertion or teratological Rugosa.(2) There is convincing evidence that the skeletons of many Rugosa were calcitic and none are known to be or to have been aragonitic. In contrast, the skeletons of all living Scleractinia are aragonitic and there is evidence that fossil Scleractinia were aragonitic also. The mineralogic difference is almost certainly due to intrinsic biologic factors.(3) No early Triassic corals of either group are known. This fact is not compelling (by itself) but is important in connection with points 1 and 2, because, given direct descent, both changes took place during this only stage in the history of the two groups in which there are no known corals.

Echinodermata is a phylum of marine invertebrates which has been extant since Cambrian time (c.a. 500 m.y. before the present). Modern examples of echinoderms include sea urchins, sea stars, and sea lilies (crinoids). The endoskeletons of echinoderms are composed of plates or ossicles (Fig. 1) which are with few exceptions, porous, single crystals of high-magnesian calcite. Despite their single crystal nature, fracture surfaces do not exhibit the near-perfect {10.4} cleavage characteristic of inorganic calcite. This paradoxical mix of biogenic and inorganic features has prompted much recent work on echinoderm skeletal crystallography. Furthermore, fossil echinoderm hard parts comprise a volumetrically significant portion of some marine limestones sequences. The ultrastructural and microchemical characterization of modern skeletal material should lend insight into: 1). The nature of the biogenic processes involved, for example, the relationship of Mg heterogeneity to morphological and structural features in modern echinoderm material, and 2). The nature of the diagenetic changes undergone by their ancient, fossilized counterparts. In this study, high resolution TEM (HRTEM), high voltage TEM (HVTEM), and STEM microanalysis are used to characterize tha ultrastructural and microchemical composition of skeletal elements of the modern crinoid Neocrinus blakei.

Electron microscopy has proved to be an invaluable discipline in studies on the relationship of viruses to the origin of leukemia, sarcoma, and other types of tumors in animals and man. The successful cell-free transmission of leukemia and sarcoma in mice, rats, hamsters, and cats, interpreted as due to a virus or viruses, was proved to be due to a virus on the basis of electron microscope studies. These studies demonstrated that all the types of neoplasia in animals of the species examined are produced by a virus of certain characteristic morphological properties similar, if not identical, in the mode of development in all types of neoplasia in animals, as shown in Fig. 1.
