Sadly, in 2020 Italy was one of the countries hardest hit by coronavirus (by 26 February 2021 2020: 2,868,435 infected; 96,974 dead). All religious communities in Italy had to respond quickly and clearly to a common and invisible threat, while providing guidance and support to their local congregations and complying with government provisions in order to curb the spread of the virus. From 9 March to 2 May 2020, Italy’s approximately 2.9 million Muslims, like all other residents, had to abide by the country’s strict stay-at-home orders, refraining from going out except for emergencies and to buy food. In the present article, I will make use of selected texts published on the official websites of the Unione delle Comunità e Organizzazioni Islamiche in Italia (UCOII – Union of Islamic congregations and organizations in Italy – اتحاد الهيئات والجاليات الإسلامية في إيطاليا ) and of the As sociazione Islamica Italiana degli Imam e delle Guide Religiose (Italian Islamic Association of Imams and Religious Guides; الجمعية الإسلامية الإيطالية للأئمة والمرشدين ) to deter mine and discuss: 1) which practices of the Italian Islamic community were most affected by the epidemic, and 2) how Italian Muslims carried out various symbolic and social initiatives to demonstrate their active participation in the common fight against the spread of the virus.

The phenomenon of religious pluralism is a fact that needs no further discussion. How society and institutions are negotiating its impact, however, certainly needs further scrutiny. Schreiter's call for the construction of local theologies invites us to explore how the preaching of the Gospel has to adapt to the realities of new situations. The present article focuses on Catholic educational institutions and how they are dealing with the multi-cultural and multi-religious communities that are now found not only outside of the schools and universities but also within them as well. Its concern is with how the identity and mission of these Catholic institutions are expressed and measured in the new contexts, taking seriously the teachings of the Church on the role they play in its evangelizing mission.

Like Presbyterians, Congregationalists drew on a broadly Calvinist heritage, which found expression in both the Westminster Confession and the Savoy Declaration. While Presbyterians emphasized the importance of the Presbytery for governing the church, Congregationalists were independently minded and tended to privilege the community of gathered believers itself. However, in practice Congregationalism was more of an ethos and philosophy than a reflection of how all local congregations operated and the boundaries between different strands of dissent could be porous. Disputes and divisions between Dissenters at a local and national level gradually led to the need for increased denominational infrastructure and organization, although the Congregational Union of England and Wales was not founded until 1831. Associations of local ministers became, following the growth of revivalism, springboards for mission at home and abroad.

In the present article I examine autobiographical works in which writers reveal their illnesses. I am interested not so much in the description of a given ailment, but rather in the embroilment resulting from being ill and from the persistent conflict between memory and forgetting. Becoming aware of the illness turns out to be a critical point, forcing the writers to re-evaluate their own lives. Consequently, memory and forgetting assume a new status. I also attempt to juxtapose the universal nature of being ill and the intimacy of this experience; I point out the similarities and differences involved in dealing with illnesses, the common denominator of which seems to be the necessity of confronting the limits of memory and the expansiveness of forgetting.

The author of the present article reviews the objections that have been raised to Calliope Lazaridou’s and his own interpretation of the recently published ephebarchical law from Amphipolis. To this end he exposes the overall plan of this legal document, devoting a special section to two of its articles which present a problem. He then examines the objections that have been raised a) against the identity of the two existing copies, b) against the common inspiration of the ephebarchical law of Amphipolis and the gymnasiarchical law of Beroia, and against the connection between the ephebarchical law and writings of classical authors on the education of the young. He concludes that the text engraved in 24/3 B.C. reproduces the provisions of the ephebarchical law promulgated under the Antigonids in the frst third of the second century B.C.

Neste artigo, lançam-se as bases para uma reconfiguração da teologia científica em vista do bem comum. Defende-se que a teologia deve abandonar a intimidade das igrejas e comunidades religiosas e, portanto, o modelo confessional, para se reestruturar como teologia pública com pertinência social. Neste sentido, discute-se o modelo deliberativo de bem comum de Daniel Innerarity e analisamse as duas principais transformações epistemológicas, necessárias para a reconfiguração da teologia em vista do bem comum: a teologia como ciência das religiões, tal como propõe Pannenberg, e a estruturação transcendental do bem humano, integrando a própria questão de Deus, segundo Lonergan.ABSTRACT: In this article, there is an approach at the base levels for a reconfiguration of scientific theology in view of the common good. It is argued that theology should abandon the intimacy of the churches and religious communities and, therefore, the confessional model, to restructure itself as public theology with social relevance. In this sense, it discusses the deliberative model of common good of Daniel Innerarity and it analyzes the two main epistemological transformations required for the reconfiguration of theology in view of the common good: theology as a science of religions, such as proposed by Pannenberg, and the transcendental structuring of human good, integrating the issue of God, according to Lonergan.

In England, there are some 90000 people with catheters in the community, and community nurses often have to manage catheter-related problems. This article looks at these common catheter problems found in the community, for example, blockage, infections and positioning problems. These problems were identified by a literature review and from the author's experience, from many years working in the community. It has been found that education, knowledge, empowerment and communication are vital factors affecting patients' ability to manager their catheters themselves. The article begins with a discussion about how patients can be involved in and manage many aspects of care for their own catheters. It goes on to talk about the common catheter-associated problems and how these can be avoided or addressed. It is hoped that better management of catheter-associated complications in the community settings can prevent unnecessary visits to the emergency department, which will save time and costs for the health service, as well as avoid the negative impact of these on patient lives.

Pediatricians are commonly consulted to evaluate children following their first, apparently unprovoked, convulsion. Keenly aware of the old adage that "all that shakes isn't epilepsy," we are ever mindful of the common mimickers of epileptic seizures that include breath-holding spells, benign paroxysmal vertigo, hyperventilation syndromes, narcolepsy-cataplexy, night terrors, and syncopal events. We present the clinical features of 15 children referred for evaluation of witnessed convulsions at home with similar histories of seizures precipitated by hair grooming and accompanied by presyncopal symptoms. METHODS The records of children referred to our neurology clinics from 1982 to 1992 for evaluation of seizures in temporal relationship to hair grooming were retrospectively reviewed.

And this information was thought the more necessary, not only as it had been the common opinion, that they were published by the authority, and under the direction, of the Society itself; but also, because several authors, both at home and abroad, have in their writings called them the Transactions Royal Society. Whereas in truth the Society, as a body, never did interest themselves any. further in their publication, than by occasionally recommending the revival of them to some of their Secretaries, when, from the particular circumstances of their affairs, the Transactions had happened for any length of time to be intermitted.

Abstract In Japanese, the verbal negative marker nai appears in both negated verbs (as a sentential negator) and compound negative adjectives (as an affix). Negative nai used as a sentential negator is a syntactically independent word devoid of adjectival properties despite its adjectival inflection, whereas negative nai appearing in negative adjectives is a derivational affix. On the basis of idiomatic expressions, the present article argues that the lexical word nai ‘null, empty’ has developed into the affix nai while retaining its lexical properties via morphologization. On the other hand, the functional negator nai is argued to have emerged from the same lexical word nai via decategorialization, which induces a shift from a lexical to a functional category. The analysis taking the two uses of nai to trace back to the common source of the lexical negative adjective word nai provides a natural account for why nai has these two totally different uses.
