Intradialytic hypertension have 5 – 15 % incidence among chronic hemodialysis patients caused by chronic kidney failure. But, mostly medical practician focused only at intradialytic hypotension than intradialytic hypotension as the most frequent cardiovascular complications. Intradialytic hypertension itself is one of the cause of mortility and morbidity hemodialytic patients, that’s why patients should be aware of intradialytic hypertension. This study aims to know the frequencies of patients with intradialytic hypertension at RSMH Palembang period November 2018, and the characteristics of the patients based on patients sosiodemography, etiology of their chronic kidney disease, their hemodialysis period, and their activity during hemodialysis.Method : This study is descriptive analysis with total sampling, with primary data from patients blood pressure measurement, and interview with patients in hemodialysis installation at RSMH Palembang. In this study,305 samples were found, with 198 patients fulfilled inclusion criteria. Result : The result of this study shows that from 198 subjects, there are 116 (58,6%) of them who suffer intradialytic hypertension. Intradialityc hypertension patients mostly in the group age 46 – 65 years old (51%), male patients (61.2%) are more likely develop intradialytic hypertension than female patients (38.8%), patients with high educational backgroud also more likely to develop this complications. Their chronic kidney diseases cause are mostly hypertension (67,2%), and the higher activities patients during hemodialysis also more likely to develop intradialytic hypertension. Conclusion : Patients in hemodialysis installation at RSMH Palembang with intradialytic hypertension are more than the patients without the intradialytic hypertension (normotension and intradialytic hypotension patients are included), patients in old age group, male patients, and the higher patients activities during hemodialysis process the more highly patients develop intradialytic hypertension as complication.

Patients undergoing hemodialysis therapy during their lifetime will depend on the dializzer device, the hemodialysis procedure must be carried out routinely and continuously with a frequency of 2-3 times in one week. Profile data shows that chronic kidney failure in Indonesia is slightly more prevalent in men than in women, individuals who experience chronic kidney failure and who are undergoing a hemodialysis process have the potential to experience emotional problems. Anxiety is the main disorder that can arise due to hemodialysis procedures, a person undergoing hemodialysis will have concerns, fears, and uncertainties resulting from negative perceptions. Researchers have identified differences in anxiety among hemodialysis patients based on a gender perspective through the Kruskal wallis test. The results show that the p-value obtained is P = 0.488, this means that there are no differences in anxiety experienced by both male and female respondents. The emergence of anxiety in general in hemodialysis patients is caused by various factors such as financial problems that must be supported by the use of health insurance, the level of understanding of the disease and therapeutic procedures, and a history of undergoing a therapeutic procedure

INTRODUCTION: Hopefulness is one of the most significant predictors of adaptation in hemodialysis patients, and plays a vital role in the recovery process. In contrast to hopefulness, depression is a frequent psychological reaction of the hemodialysis treatment with many negative consequences. The current research was designed to examine the effect of cognitive-existential treatment on the level of hopefulness and depression in hemodialysis patients.

MATERIALS & METHODS: This quasi-experimental research included 22 female patients suffering from chronic kidney failure disease undergoing hemodialysis treatment for at least 3 months. The patients were randomly assigned into two groups of experimental and control conditions. The experimental group received a combination of treatment including some elements of "existentialism" philosophy and a "cognitive" approach designed for the Iranian population. The treatment protocol lasted for 12 sessions of 90 minutes twice per week prior to the entry of the patient to the dialysis session. Miller’s hope scale and BDI-II-21 were employed to collect the data. Statistical analysis was performed on the data using analysis of covariance by SPSS: 16 software.

RESULTS: The result of the analysis indicated that there was a significant improvement in hopefulness level and decrease in depression of the patients in the experiment condition (P<0.01).

CONCLUSION: The result of analysis showed that cognitive-existential treatment resulted in the increase of hopefulness and decrease level of depression in the hemodialysis patients suffering from chronic kidney failure.

Background: Quality of life becomes an important parameter that is needed for assessing the clinical outcome of patients undergoing long-term therapy for chronic diseases, such as chronic kidney failure. Short Form-6 Dimension (SF-6D) is one of the generic instruments that can be used to assess health-related quality of life (HRQOL). The psychometric properties SF-6D test in hemodialysis patients in Indonesia has never been conducted. Objective: Aimed to evaluate the reliability and validity of SF-6D questionnaire in Indonesian version in patients with chronic kidney failure. Methods: This is an observational study with a cross-sectional design involving 117 patients who meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria in the hemodialysis unit in Dr. Sardjito Central General Hospital and UGM Academic Hospital Yogyakarta. Results: The SF-6D questionnaire has good internal consistency, as seen in Cronbach's alpha value of 0.771. In this study, the ceiling effect test showed 6.8% (< 15%). The measurement of convergent validity was carried out using Spearman rho to analyze the correlation of the questionnaires and see its correlation with other instruments (KDQOL-SF36). Based on the research, the correlation coefficient value of 0.768 (> 0.75) indicates very good result for a strong correlation. The SF-6D instrument was able to distinguish the quality of life with a significant value (p < 0.05) in age, occupation, and comorbid groups. Conclusion: SF-6D questionnaire is valid and reliable, so it can be used to measure the HRQOL of hemodialysis patients. The mean SF-6D utility score of hemodialysis patients is high (0.7975 ± 0.1488).

Chronic kidney failure is progressive kidney damage that is fatal and is characterized by uremia and can lead to hemodialysis to continue living. There is a dependence on hemodialysis and the lack of research that discusses the experience of patients undergoing hemodialysis so that researchers are interested in doing this research. The purpose of this study is to explore the life experiences of chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis at H. Andi Sultan Daeng Radja Bulukumba Hospital. Method This study uses a qualitative study (phenomenology) and a sample of 8 people with criteria for patients with chronic kidney failure undergoing hemodialysis. Data in this study were collected through in-depth interviews on selected subjects (In-depth Interviews) and analyzed using Thematic Analysis. Results Researchers found 4 themes from the results of data analysis. The themes are: (1) Early Symptoms of Disease, sub-themes: uncontrolled blood pressure, lethargy. (2) Motivation and Strengthening Undergo Therapies, sub-themes: enthusiasm from the patient himself, support of other patients undergoing hemodialysis, support from family, support from hemodialysis nurses. (3) Compliance Undergoing Treatment, sub-theme: do not delay and rule out boredom, surrender. (4) Quality of Life for Hemodialysis Patients, sub themes: feeling like a normal human being, improved diet, good weight. The quality of life of patients is better after undergoing hemodialysis therapy. Conclusions and suggestions: There are 4 themes obtained in this study. It is expected that families and nurses can provide support to patients who are undergoing hemodialysis and patients diagnosed in order to avoid fear of undergoing hemodialysis.

Background About 300,000 patients in the United States with Chronic Kidney Failure (CKF) are of working age, but up to 70% lose their job within the first year of renal replacement therapy. No study has examined how work ability and perceived health are influenced by the subjects’ adjustment to their job. We assessed the association of occupational stress (Effort-Reward Imbalance, ERI), work ability (WAI) and health-related quality of life (QoL) in hemodialysis. Methods 40 employed hemodialysis patients completed a self-administered questionnaire. Associations between ERI, Short Form 12 (SF-12), Short Form - 6 Dimensions (SF-6D), Kidney Disease QOL - 36 (KDQOL-36) and WAI were tested with partial Spearman's correlation adjusted for age, income, and comorbidity burden. Results Study subjects were mainly low-income (82%), African-American (73%), men (75%); 16 were manual laborers and 9 worked in the industrial sector. Study subjects reported low levels of Occupational Stress: ERI scores indicated an imbalance between Job Efforts and Rewards in only 3 subjects. Nevertheless, ERI scores were inversely and strongly associated with WAI (ρ=-0.41, p<0.012) and all QoL scales even after adjustment for known confounders. Conclusion Our study suggests that psychosocial workplace factors may play a substantial role in modulating patients’ health perception and ability to continue working. The causal relationship between Occupational Stress, perceived health, and work ability should be further investigated. Occupational Health professionals and nephrologists should closely collaborate to meet the needs of occupationally active hemodialysis patients.
