The presence of vast communication and information nowadays necessitates the need for a system to readily access and transfer data. The study aimed to develop records archiving and document repository to overcome the barrier of server client method of deploying the documents from one place to another and easier data access to its stakeholders. The Sorsogon State College in the Philippines has four campuses which are located strategically in four municipalities of Sorsogon province. Their distance from each other sometimes causes a problem particularly along communication and real time updates. General User Interface (GUI) of the application has been built on top of all web-enabled computers and even to the mobile devices, so it requires only installed web browsers to render the GUI onto their devices regardless of its platform and specifications. The installation of web-based archiving and repository on its main campus enables satellite campuses to connect to the college private server in a cost-effective manner through virtual private network that connects on top of the Internet service provider. This study overcomes the vulnerability of security by means of allowing user credentials to login at the private server using a 1024 bit Rivest-Shamir-Adleman (RSA) private/public key exchange and 256-bit Advance Encryption System (AES) encryption through its virtual private network. The objective of this research is to develop a web-based-online-stock-simulation application applying Virtual Private Network (VPN) technology. The web-based application is prefered for user’s convenience and comfort since it does not require any software to be installed on the client side and is also accessable anywhere and anytime with internet connection availability. The application is developed by means of analysis and design towards the technology needed to establish the connectivity between servers through internet as well as database analysis and design. The data are real time derived from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) and forwarded through an official data vendor PT XYZ. Data from the IDX will be captured by a middleware application at PT XYZ and forwarded to www.kontan.co.id. This application has been tested and succesfully run by around 700 users. This tool is expected to provide a kind of education and motivation to beginner-level investors who want to be engaged with the stock-trading activities.

Increasingly, parents are looking to the Internet for information and advice about parenting. This presents an opportunity to broaden the reach and availability of evidence-based parenting support in an extremely cost-effective manner if we can harness the power of the Internet to deliver engaging and effective interactive programs. Online platforms provide the potential to tailor content and feedback to the user and reduce barriers to participation through ease and immediacy of access, flexibility and self-paced delivery, and increased privacy. This chapter examines the role of technology-assisted delivery of parenting support and discusses challenges in providing evidence-based parenting programs online. Learnings from research into the Triple P Online family of web-based programs are shared, including implementation issues that influence program outcomes, such as program engagement, dosage, and provision of professional support.

The paper must have abstract. The rapid growth of networks base on IP, and the current challenge posed by the technological deployment of IPv6 and annexed applications, challenges that must confront the Internet Service Provider and have stimulated the development for rigorous researches on the topic. The Internet Service Providers ISP offer infrastructure for implementation of virtual private network VPN, where is fundamental the definition of routing schemas between the border route of client CE and the provider PE. In this sense, have been proposed different schemas where the new protocols as Open Short Path First version 3 OSPFv3 have a key role. In the context of VPN, the routing protocol BGP is used to distribute the client’s path, the multi-protocol label switching MPLS is used to send the information packages through the network core in tunnel mode. Originally, only IPv4 was supported and expanded after support OSPFv2 and VPN IPv6. Based on the new specifications in order to support OSPFv3 as a routing protocol PE-CE and the current technological infrastructures begin the process of IPv6 deployment, these elements driving this research which evaluate the performance of routing protocol OSPFv3 on border scenarios MPLS/VPN/IPv6.

<p class="Abstract">Not all Internet Service Providers provide a sufficient amount of bandwidth to their users. Although the amount of local bandwidth is reasonable, global bandwidth is not satisfactory at all. Based on bandwidth allocation, location and price; service providers capped their users’ global bandwidth i.e., reducing global internet speed. As a consequence, we observe severe global bandwidth limitation among Internet users. In this article, we implement a flexible and pragmatic solution for Internet users to bypass global bandwidth restriction. To achieve robust global bandwidth, we utilize a combination of communication technologies and devices namely, Internet Exchange Point, Virtual Private Network, chain VPN technology etc. In this project, we show that internet speed of international route i.e., global bandwidth can enhance significantly if there are multiple ISPs use a common IXP and at least one of those ISPs provides pleasant global bandwidth. Usually, regional ISPs use a common IXP to route their local traffic using local bandwidth within the region without wasting global bandwidth. We show that using our proposed method global internet speed of a user can raise several times effectively utilizing assigned local bandwidth. In addition, we also implement a geo-restriction bypassing technique integrating an offshore ISP with local ISP using VPN. Thus, we enjoy tremendous Internet speed along with unrestricted access to the websites.</p>

Emporia State University recently implemented a web-based presentation capture application for use in both a graduate and undergraduate counselor education program. Presentation capture, sometimes referred to as course capture or lecture capture, is most often used in traditional classrooms to record lectures by faculty for playback and review by students following class. However, in this educational scenario the students record sessions with assigned clients from the Emporia, Kansas community that are later played back by the faculty for review and evaluation – most often in a classroom environment where all the students gather to review and discuss the client recordings. The faculty critique the interview techniques, interview questions, and client engagement with the students as part of their training, research, and coursework. One of the unique needs of this approach is that the recordings conform to Health Insurance Privacy and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements and thus can only be replayed outside the counseling facility using an encrypted Virtual Private Network (VPN) access. Although this is a very small academic program at a modest-sized university, an empirical research study was conducted to gauge the effectiveness of capturing client sessions using a presentation capture application. Results from that study indicate that both students and faculty found the software and hardware to be very easy to use, and believed it significantly enhanced the quality of the counseling program.

&lt;p&gt;With a global paradigm shift from post-disaster response aid to anticipatory action, the question on how anticipatory action relates to long-term climate adaptation and often government-led actions towards permanent disaster prevention becomes more relevant. With rising disaster risk, a framework that decision-makers can use to select between preventive and preparedness risk reduction efforts would be most useful. A model originally developed to compare permanent interventions to forecast-based action for floods was applied to wind-induced building damage due to tropical cyclones, focusing on a case study from the Philippines. We made use of a typhoon forecasting model based on the ensemble forecast from EMCWF, and modeled the wind footprint to estimate the wind speed in the case study area. A threshold was defined, similar to how it is done in actual operations by the Philippine Red Cross. If the forecasted typhoon exceeds a pre-set threshold in terms of wind speed, action to strengthen light-weight wooden houses with a Shelter Strengthening Kit (SSK) is taken. SSKs temporarily make these houses more resistant to withstand extreme winds, thereby reducing the impacts. This short term action is compared to a scenario in which lightweight wooden houses are permanently upgraded. Results give actors in humanitarian response, anticipatory action as well as permanent disaster prevention insight into which variables affect this balance. and help policymakers to allocate their scarce budgets in a cost-effective way. The framework, although developed for the Philippines, can also be replicated in other cyclone-prone countries.&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;

Virtual Private Network (VPN) refers to rely on the ISP (Internet service providers) and other NSP (Network service provider), in the public network, to establish a dedicated data communication network technologies. In the virtual private network, between any two nodes connected no dedicated network for the traditional end-to-end physical link, but to use a public network composed of dynamic resources. VPN technology can reduce the internal network building costs, improve user network operation and management flexibility, and enable communication between computers and private circuits on computer communications with the same security.
